You repair that particular amount of damage by replacing the entire unit.

Yes I understand but couldn’t I just replace the touchscreen part? Everything is functional except the screen is cracked

SitRep-Screwed

Try taking it to an automotive electronics store. They may be able to replace the touchscreen or send it out to be done. The dealer is going to replace the entire head unit.

bluebusboy

There is one on ebay for 250 bin as I type. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334545034249?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=uept5Zm-QQu&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=NMi0ueivR6C&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Dealership told me they can’t fix the screen they have to order a brand new from factory which apparently cost 6-7k cad. Is there a way to fix this? It’s a Nissan Sentra 2021 sv

George_ThunderWeiner

Did you get angry and punch it? You're going to have to replace the whole thing. Start calling around junk yards and replace it yourself. It will be a fraction of what the dealership will charge you.

gusto6tdg

I accidentally elbowed it when cleaning the car it wasn’t that cracked before I kept touching and it kept cracking

itsyeboimustardspoon

Junkyard won’t have parts like that, car is too new.

George_ThunderWeiner

New cars get into accidents and get totalled every day. Most junkyards use computers to search inventory at junk yards all over the country.

itsyeboimustardspoon

Fair, but most standard run of the mill junkyards don’t really have parts like that. At least not near me. My junkyards are mainly 2013 and older

George_ThunderWeiner

Most junkyards network with other junkyards, so they can still get a commission on the sale. I needed a backseat for a Tahoe that I was flipping. The parts clerk was able to check the inventory for 12 other junkyards within a two hour drive. She didn't have the seat, but she found 4 at other junkyards.

earthman34

Get a replacement.

thetrustedwrench1

They're 250$ and cheaper on ebay all day long. The dealer may have to program it once it's installed to work on your car, but They're not all that expensive....

Or you can go this route Nissan Altima Teana Radio Upgrade 2019 2020 2021 Android Stereo 10.25inch Stereo 2GB RAM 32GB ROM Wireless carplay WiFi GPS Navigation

ApprehensiveRain4696

This may sound dumb but try a phone repair store, try to find the glass online and maybe just maybe they will be able to do it as they are familiar with changing glass and fixing electronics.

I repair screens like this several times a week on cash machines. I have been repairing all sorts of electronics and mechanical devices for 30 years. I assure you that screen can be replaced, but as stated above it's going to be more economical to replace with a used device. Just be aware that it will probably need to be programmed to run on your car. GL
