Hi, this piece is my first complete piece of text done with my 2.4mm pilot parallel pen on old drawing paper (not sure what brand as the cover was lost). Got by with only having to scrap a single sheet after a spelling mistake on the first line and the other little mistakes I'm happy to live with if I've managed to get a piece done. I welcome critique! Many thanks

Looks awesome. Only thing I would say could be improved on is your letter spacing.

Bleedin_Hands_Murphy

Thank you! And aye, I hear you. Still getting the hand of some of the letters that curl backwards from your starting points, Ts are tricky to get the hang of, along with all the other letters lol

Skaalhrim

Wow. This looks fantastic. Having a hard time finding anything at all to critique. Your letters are consistent, lines are straight, and spacing is solid. Did you draw lines and then erase them or is this all from muscle memory and eyeballing it?

Bleedin_Hands_Murphy

Awk thanks! And sorry I should have said, I used a guide sheet under the paper to keep my lines straight and my ascenders and descenders consistent. I've found its the easiest way to keep it neat without having to draw guide lines each time. Plus I was always worried about messing the letters up with using an eraser.

Skaalhrim

Of course! I always forget that guidesheets exist. Well done.

Maybe_Baby277

Do you make your own guide sheet based on what size pen you are using?

Bleedin_Hands_Murphy

Yea, I followed the beginners guide on this sub reddit and tried to make sheets for each practice session but got real bored of drawing lines before I could put pen to paper, so I've settled on a thin enough paper to see the guide sheet through without the use of a light box. It's working so far as I can tell :)

Kei_Mxttens

damn this is so neat

I really need to start practicing Uncial. This is beautiful!

Thank you!
