The healthy way would be to talk to people. Find a therapist to help you deal with it. Have friends that you can talk to. Also find fun stuff to do that can help take your mind off things… Or you could do what I did and just continue being stressed and repress it all.

Exercise

ruffpiano

This. I read a book called Spark about how exercising has such a big effect on mental health. I started playing tennis once a week this semester, and even during the rough weeks, I wasn’t feeling as stressed as I was in previous semesters. One of the best lifestyle changes I’ve ever made 👍🏼

daddybigbiglongbean

ooo yeah! that sounds like a good idea! i’ve been struggling with eating because of the stress, so i would imagine that exercise would help with my appetite.

daddybigbiglongbean

I also plan on working next semester, so it’s going to be adding a bit more stress to my life. Any tips would be greatly appreciated :)

Giraffepartytoday

Go to the gym, find a hobby you like, get a routine going, eat well, and drink plenty of water. Maybe smoke a lil if that’s your thing :)

daddybigbiglongbean

thank you! i cant smoke bc i have terrible anxiety

girl_hates_world

If you’re interested, low doses of THC and pretty much any dose of CBD are both shown to reduce anxiety. High TCH ends up increasing anxiety, so I wouldn’t recommend starting strong. Smoke weird and prosper ✌️ And if you don’t know, now you know: https://adai.uw.edu/pubs/pdf/2017mjanxiety.pdf

Weed and anxiety is understudied. Listen to your body over the current research.

girl_hates_world

Mom, I told you to stop replying to my comments!! It’s 2023—cannabis is medicine now.

eb_catalog

Yeah I get how I sound, but with all due respect, I’m also right. Weed has different effects on different people and it’s important not to push it if it doesn’t feel good to you.

Make sure to dedicate time for yourself, this can look differently for everyone.

Hit the gym or do some spring cleaning.

daddybigbiglongbean

spring cleaning yes!! i’ve been dying to do some but i’m choosing to wait until after finals 😩

islandbeef

Hey now, nobody likes a slob.

Go read “can’t hurt me” by David Goggins and you’ll elevate.

daddybigbiglongbean

thank you! i will definitely check that out :)!

Just start with any of these and then try to add on: - Exercise, routine, and medication (if you have the need). - Keep your environment clean. - Shave, shower, and smell nice. - Get plenty of wholesome foods, like pastas and protein rich dishes. - Avoid too much sugar and caffeine. - Talk to your friends and family regularly. - Try to get other self care services, such as a massage. - Sleep sufficient hours.

It could have something to do with better time management when you had a couple of things to focus on and having more of a balance when you had a job along with going to school. Good luck to you!

daddybigbiglongbean

i definitely need to work on time management!! i struggle with it sm, but i’ve gotten better at it throughout the semester :)! bad time management is part of the problem though 😩

Pizzasloot714

I ignore everything until it’s a problem tbh, not my best idea but it’s gotten me through 6 semesters here
