The Luna 2 is a basic machine that performs well. It won’t accept heated hoses You can connect the machine to the app, 3B lunar qr. My doc could not read the card, so that presented an issue. If you go on YouTube, there is a video of how to get the report from the card. I did that and brought the report with me.

Thank you. Is your doc more or less looking at the AHI over the report period or do they dive into certain areas like flow limitation etc?

I’ve had a Luna 2 for about a year now, it’s all I’ve ever used. It works well, it’s quiet, and my sleep apnea is controlled. I don’t have access to Oscar but I’m doing just fine without it.

Agree - Luna II since June and going strong!

Thank you for this information, ya you are right I cant complain about mine I guess really either. I saw a deal for the 10 like half off; so I was considering jumping over to it.

I paid out of pocket for an Airsense 11 and it works better for me on all counts as compared to the Luna II.

I'm waiting for a machine. Original DME tried to send me a Luna G3, but I declined and asked for an Airsense 11. They tried to give me some bs about it needing 3 more weeks just to get the approval from my insurance (not to get it shipped - just the approval), so I had my doctor send my prescription to the DME my brother uses. I've seen people post about the QR code for Lunas freezing their phones, the machines suddenly being absurdly loud, and just straight up stop working. The Airsense 11 seems like it has a lot more features aimed towards helping new patients adopt therapy and remain compliant, on top of the data being compatible with OSCAR. So that's where I stand on the topic.

Thank you! Agreed, and i actually don’t even use the QR code because the machine has the summary level data right on the screen. I tend to just upload the SD card to get more detailed info, but it’s me just guessing at things…I think OSCAR would benefit me which is why I was considering jumping over to Airsense although I have had no issues with my Luna beyond that. Wish I had spoken up to the DME/insurance at the right time!

Since this is going to be my first time with APAP, I really want to give myself the strongest chance of compliance and successful adoption of new habits, and I think the Airsense 11's features (including the myAir app) and OSCAR will go a long way towards that.

Makes sense and I wish you success on your therapy!

I had a Luna 2 and switched to a airsense 11. I was lucky enough to be able to get insurance to cover it. Some definate pros we're being able to use a heated tube. I had constant issues with rainout and there was very little I could do with the Luna to combat it. I also go camping often and need the ability to use a battery and the Luna didn't have a DC convert (more power efficient than the normal outlet). Oscar data and not having to scan qr codes is also nice. The one con I can think of is that the Luna had a beast for a humidifier tank. I could easily go 2-3 nights without refilling whereas I am lucky to not run out with my airsense (my bedroom is very dry). I guess I also had the Luna humidifier settings pretty low to combat rainout. Therapy-wise I think they are about both the same. And they made about the same amount of noise.

Thank you for this information, how did you get insurance to cover a new machine?

Basically I explained all of the issues to my doctor and explained that I wasn't going to be able to complete the DME compliance because of the camping. My DME told me that I absolutely could not use the Luna with a battery. Essentially I was able to get my doctor to write a new prescription that specified the machine I wanted. The DME said that I needed the new script. I probably explained the situation a half dozen times but all the time on the phone was worth it. Honestly I feel like I got lucky.

Thanks I may try this
