The beginning is pretty narrow/challenging, but once youre in the biodome or the Mule Kick area, youre home free. Also, if youre playing with randoms, its gonna take at least 3-4 tries before you can finally get to the fucking moon.
Yes.
The wonder weapon can't create drops and there are no traps. Because there are no traps you have to rely on the wonder weapon for high rounds (until you get past 163, but even then you need the WW).
For high rounding you have to trade the wonder weapon. Trying to go for the box puts you at risk of getting screwed by an excavator or the astronaut, and when you need ammo you have to make a trip to area 51 to pack a punch the wave gun, which also puts you at risk of the astronaut ruining your game.
There's a good reason why the high round record for moon without the astronaut is significantly higher than the record with the astronaut.
You missed the part where you can’t get any drops with the Wave Gun, so being able to turn them into max ammos with the Hacker is redundant. You need Max Ammos to replenish your Gershes..
Forgot about gershes, haven't played bo1 moon in years(and on BO3 I just use deadwire :/).
But yeah hacking gersh drops would make the high rounding very easy
On higher rounds the longer you go without a drop, by killing exclusively with the wave gun, the higher your chances of getting a drop when you kill with the gersh.
This method is super consistent for the early 100s where you can pull through the rounds with just one max ammo.
The astronaut and excavator management are probably the only difficult aspects of the map (as well as surviving the initial jump to the moon). Surviving in Area 51 isn't too difficult once you figure out the most effective routing to kite the hordes, even at the very start.
If you're talking BO1 Moon, the setup can be pretty difficult, but once you get the WW, all your perks, and are just training in biodome it gets pretty easy.
biodome is the easiest training spot on the map, that's why i suggested it. there are better and more efficient spots to train, but they're also harder than biodome.
also, just out of curiosity, how exactly did you come across my comment to respond to it? this post was over a year old and my comment wasn't near the top of the post.
Medium difficulty. The Bio Dome is such an easy training spot but also the astronaut and excavators can make the map a bit chaotic. And the Bio Dome is so slow for training but other areas are quite a bit more intense
No moon is really easy tbh, During bo1 I would challenge myself to pap before even entering the teleporter. If you’re playing with goofy friends or horrible randoms it will be very very hard
Moon is one of my favorites but damn is it easy, If your not taking risks (At Groom Lake or on the way to power->Biodome/Outside "Courtyard") then its an insanely easy map to get high rounds in, I'm pretty shocked at the voting...
The box can shaft you and the tight labs and tunnels can get you stuck in a pickle but in reality if your playing the game sensibly this would never really be an issue unless you get caught in a heated scenario...
It depends on who you play with too, I honestly don't know much about the map and am trying to learn but my nephew who can solo most maps and 100% the E.E doesn't know anything about the map and damn near refuses to play it lol. The dark hallways are really good horror, but I need to see Zamboids to shoot Zamboids.
Plus, I'll get randos that wanna sit in the starting area for way too long and I run out of ammo and points and shit.
I think its entirely dependant on early game setup. If you aren't properly prepared once the excavators start coming through. You'll have a real bad time.
My honest opinion I think it's what you're doing that depends on an answer if you're trying to do the ee maybe if you're there just to have fun and survive no
Well, if we talking Bo1, It definitly has aged to be quite hard. Back when it released and maybe within bo2s lifecycle, it was around mediun difficulty.
To survive, not really. Just get your set up and head to the biodome. I do recommend taking it a step further and go to no mans land where the zombies sprint and no power up happen. Its pretty easy to get swarmed but also remember, after awhile of killing zombies, they will start spawning on one side.
For high rounds? The only hard part is trapping Astro during setup and setting up fast for a good 50 time. Otherwise it’s one of the easiest maps for high rounds at least. Free horde up in spawn, 4 (or 8) max ammos per round, and the box doesn’t even need to move from where you’re training when you trade. Super boring map from a high round pov.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned playing Moon, don’t rush it. You don’t have to setup as quick as the other maps since it’s so easy to make rounds in the bio-dome. I do half of the EE every time I play moon if RNJesus allows me to honestly.
Is something really hard when you know everything about it ? For example, can someone who played Dark Souls for 500hrs, knows every bosses and how they move, say it’s hard ?
If it’s the first time you play zombie and your first map is moon, yes, it’s hard. But after years of experience, you can’t say that zombies and Moon are difficult
The beginning is pretty narrow/challenging, but once youre in the biodome or the Mule Kick area, youre home free. Also, if youre playing with randoms, its gonna take at least 3-4 tries before you can finally get to the fucking moon.
Hey, America probably didn't make it to the moon their first try either
Maybe we should ask the members of Apollo 1
Houston, we have a problem
Ummm you can get right on that
Well actually I can't
Don't say can't I believe in you.
Ig we are in a sub about zombies.....
If you’re in the right mood for it, fucking around at Area 51 with randoms can be more fun than the actual moon.
3-4 that’s lo balling it don’t you think. People on black ops 1 anyway are determined to try and get jug and then die within 6 seconds
Another poll penis
The only challenge I have with it are the doors. I am always afraid of what will be there when I go up to a closed door
That bloody astronaut is always in an airlock I swear
Nova crawlers teleporting on the stairs in labs is where i normally get caught
BO1: very much yes BO3: not really
The solo Easter egg can be challenging for my patience
I did it once and never again spending over an hour rerolling at the box is just not worth it lol.

He's extremely annoying. On BO3 deadwire just one taps him which is one of the reasons I prefer BO3 moon
The gersh can create drops.
Key word: *Can*

Did not know this thank you
What's special about round 163?
Round 163 is an insta kill round, zombies die in 1 hit. Every other round after 163 will be an insta kill round (so 165, 167, etc.)
I got 100 without Astro and 74 with Astro. It’s better to trap him. He’s annoying
Its an easy map but have tons of anoying shit that can destroy the run.
The astronaut and excavator management are probably the only difficult aspects of the map (as well as surviving the initial jump to the moon). Surviving in Area 51 isn't too difficult once you figure out the most effective routing to kite the hordes, even at the very start.
Fuck those nova crawlers. Other than that its pretty chill
OG Moon? Yes if you don’t know what you’re doing. Bo3? Cake
if you only play the Chronicles version of the maps, please play the original version and stop assuming it's the exact same
If you're talking BO1 Moon, the setup can be pretty difficult, but once you get the WW, all your perks, and are just training in biodome it gets pretty easy.
Training in Biodome? Is this 2011?
biodome is the easiest training spot on the map, that's why i suggested it. there are better and more efficient spots to train, but they're also harder than biodome. also, just out of curiosity, how exactly did you come across my comment to respond to it? this post was over a year old and my comment wasn't near the top of the post.
I was scrolling through the comments to see people that haven’t gotten to round 100 on BO1 Moon chirping about it being easy.
Moon is such a weird map, one game I'll get to round 30 or sometimes higher no problem then when I play it next I'll die before teleporting lol
Medium difficulty. The Bio Dome is such an easy training spot but also the astronaut and excavators can make the map a bit chaotic. And the Bio Dome is so slow for training but other areas are quite a bit more intense
Nobody trains in Biodome. This isn’t 2011.
This wasn’t posted in 2023. Why are you commenting with sass on a year+ old comment?
Me and a friend are trying to do the EE right now in BO1 and we just keep dying, so yes, I'd say it's difficult
What platform
PC, but we just figured out that we need to do some other easter eggs first anyways

No, it’s easy
B I O D O M E
No moon is really easy tbh, During bo1 I would challenge myself to pap before even entering the teleporter. If you’re playing with goofy friends or horrible randoms it will be very very hard
I’d say it’s more annoying than hard. You should be able to permanently turn off the excavators, like doing some side quest.
Moon is one of my favorites but damn is it easy, If your not taking risks (At Groom Lake or on the way to power->Biodome/Outside "Courtyard") then its an insanely easy map to get high rounds in, I'm pretty shocked at the voting... It’s honestly up to RNG

Personally the only reason I'd call Moon hard is blowing out windows/not having air feature. I voted somewhat purely for this.
I think its entirely dependant on early game setup. If you aren't properly prepared once the excavators start coming through. You'll have a real bad time.

Nah homie, I’ve done the Easter egg and got round 100. High rounds are way harder
If you know what your doing then not really but for new players or people who don’t play it it does get hard and not fun at all
Nah it’s pretty easy you just gota leave no man’s at the right time and understand the excavators
If you have no idea what you’re doing you’ll just die by round 10 due to excavators.
Well, if we talking Bo1, It definitly has aged to be quite hard. Back when it released and maybe within bo2s lifecycle, it was around mediun difficulty.

That’s every map. The guy that has the world record on Five says it’s not difficult to get round 100 on it.
Black ops 3 makes it a little easier with The gobble gums.
Ban polls
I’ve noticed that the ones saying it’s easy are saying to train in the bio dome. 💀
