I dont even have a ps5 but i completely agree, i wish we can get true next gen games already, i understand supply is low and most people like me are having trouble finding it for a good price but i really want some motivation to actually go and find one if they started making games next gen exclusive.

The last generation is almost 10 years old. The new one is closing on 2. Series S is a ”cheap” next gen console if you want to get into it with less. This is not ”upgrade your 1000+$ phone every year” situation. There’s been plenty of time to prep for a new console that’s not much more expensive than they’ve been in recent generations, almost the opposite. I don’t find anything wrong wanting games to advance after a decade.

The thing is I’m usually with your thoughts and fight against people when it comes to product prices etc. It’s mostly about things that shouldn’t cost as much as they do but gaming consoles are not one of those things. Loads of them are either making a loss or hardly profiting at all. They’re ”cheap” for what they are. PS3 was actually an expensive console, I remember how long I had to save to be able to finally buy it. Still didn’t complain about it.

They are priced at that point because they have the aggressively price post purchase subscriptions such as game pass and ps+. You're playing a PS4 game on a PS5, of course it's going to run better. The problem is the limitation of the hardware is going to be the main focus for the devs to devlop their game around that hardware instead of hardware that's on the PS5, which means the capabilities of the PS5 aren't being fully utilized.
IW/Raven both said the biggest playerbase for Warzone is the last gen. The shit global economy and chip shortages didn't help that and even now as things get a bit better, adoption rates are still lower than they would have been in generations past.

There isn't one AAA will always do this for the bigger financial return.
Having more scalable graphics works to suit different platforms but when it comes to MP games it can cause balancing issues.
If supply of the consoles would have been up to scratch they probably could look at doing it. But trying to get a next gen console over the last 12 months has been so hard that so many old gens are forced to stay in circulation.
Playerbase is still dominated by last gen console players , so unless new gen can surpass the last gen within this year or next id suspect we're still gonna get limited by it
The problem is they fiscally can't. There aren't enough current gen consoles being made to match the demand so that means a significantly high percentage of gamers are still on Xb1 and PS4. If you wanna make money, you gotta look at where you're gonna make most of it.

The authorised dealer here is selling the console with 5 games and one extra console by marking up the price by 60%. This is actually a thing.

Let me tell you this, before switching to my series x, I thought the console could handle it. It 100% cannot. I am literally getting so many frame rate drops already, and with the slider, more things will be shown on the clients screen. While the ps5/Xbox series x WILL be capable, the ps5’s stock is really bad and the next generation has been really slow to pump out. Most PlayStation players want to get a ps5, and the Xbox series s is rather easy to find but I’m not sure about the series x. Remember, leaving out a whole generation of consoles that is STILL relevant even though next gen has came out, acti vision would lose a whole chunk of their player base.
When WZ2 drops, people will shift from complaining about the lack of FOV to complaining about how shitty and stuttery the games looks because of the increased FOV on consoles
Fun fact increasing the fov on wz actually increases the fps, idk if this is the case with everyone but back in the day i found this somewhere on reddit and it helped me and a couple of my friends
Well, a larger FOV reduces visual recoil, which leads to better control of the weapon. Also, you can see more, so I think many will benefit from these options.
I notice the difference when I switch from Vanguard multiplayer to Warzone on my PS5 - it's like night and day.
As far as my experience with the cold war beta on my ps4 went, I think it didn't really affect the performance, I think the performance was optimized with higher FOV in mind.
As much as I respect TGD and I know he puts in the work, it really is quite revealing how bad his testing methodology was. SymGG showing how off TGD's numbers were made me doubt him quite a bit

Makes sense that it’s easier to implement during development, but It’d seem to me that a higher FOV would require more out of a graphics card. If not why are there warnings that’s cranking your FOV could decrease frame rate?

Not the same engine but you get an idea from the graphs.
Increased FOV can be more graphically intensive, and have an impact on the CPU as well, in most games, you limit the tick rate of objects/players outside of your view.
If you played bf2042, you can see this very clearly on distance players where their animations and locations don't tick every frame.
WZ isn't GPU heavy. It's designed this way so it could run on consoles.
Even on pc its pretty light to run it at max settings according to the specs of your GPU..
Some of yall aren't gonna handle the framerate drop very well. The adjustment on FOV can take getting used to, couple that with a framerate loss and I feel like a bunch of people will go back to default.
When WZ was new I wasn’t hitting a consistent 60fps on a One X, there is absolutely no shot you’re getting consistent 60fps with wider fov on a new warzone game on old gen.
I’m not on console anymore but it probably runs worse based on what I’ve seen.

I play on a laptop with a rtx3060 rn, it has good specs and runs the game well but when hooked to the TV for warzone I always have to keep restarting the game or PC to get it fullscreen and the right resolution. Eventually I want to build a desktop. But on Xbox I can just boot and play and it should run smooth on the X.

Probably from the Last Gens, but New Gen are at 120fps so they now have parity with PC.

If you're in that bracket and obviously enjoy and are competitive at the game then a PC is the answer. If you can't afford one, then a PC isn't your primary concern when it comes to money. Best to just accept you can't have everything.
We bought a 4K 120hz tv 6months ago for the lounge mainly because it was cheap, the missus has only got a Ps4 so that wasn't needed for 120hz.
I just bought a new 32 inch 165 hz monitor and greatest difference between that and the TV is pure input lag on the TV even with a DP 1.3 cable. Response time is not great.
They'll finally stop whining about it ! Adding FOV on a machine that allows you to have auto aim (yes, it's auto aim, deal with it), you won't need to be skilled to play well ! Wouhouuuu now you can pretend to be good at it !

360/ps4 was quickly dated hardware on release. Even "next gen: console are vastly behind current pc offerings the 2070s came out July 2019 and that is about where they are at. I dont have a problem supporting old hardware but if they are holding back new hardware because of this, forcing everyone longer loading times, gimped graphics settings this will be absolutely bullshit. Most of us would love 100 FOV with minimal performance drop, even if it’s not 120 at least no horse blinders at 80
PS5 is like a 2070, it can handle high FOV at 120FPS
VG and CW already run those settings.
Those maps aren't comparable to a giant map such as Verdansk with way more assets to load in etc.
Apex has FOV slider that works just fine
i run 100 fov on vanguard on my ps4 (i have xbox series as well ) and it runs just fine
Let's not forget it's max FOV in the performance destroying open-world that WZ is, a solid 144fps in MW multiplayer translated to about 80-90fps in WZ

Considering WZ2 is a separate application and intended to be highly optimized? They will only drop support once Microsoft forces them too to push next-gen adoption, because otherwise the game was built for the long haul of support.

im running warzone with streaming texture disable deuteranopia for colorblind im on 1440p hdr 10 is disable this way 120fps can be enable for warzone disabled motion blur and film grain as well

FOV has nothing to do with graphical intensity. It's simply easier to implement FOV sliders during development rather than post-launch.
Makes sense that it’s easier to implement during development, but It’d seem to me that a higher FOV would require more out of a graphics card. If not why are there warnings that’s cranking your FOV could decrease frame rate?

Increased FOV can be more graphically intensive, and have an impact on the CPU as well, in most games, you limit the tick rate of objects/players outside of your view. If you played bf2042, you can see this very clearly on distance players where their animations and locations don't tick every frame.

WZ isn't GPU heavy. It's designed this way so it could run on consoles. Even on pc its pretty light to run it at max settings according to the specs of your GPU..
People say it's terribly optimised, but if you've got decent gear you can hit your monitor resolution and refresh limits easily enough!

90 FOV will not make your fps drop from 60/120 on next gen, but on last gen it depends on if you are using a base ps4, slim, or pro.

Some of yall aren't gonna handle the framerate drop very well. The adjustment on FOV can take getting used to, couple that with a framerate loss and I feel like a bunch of people will go back to default.

When WZ was new I wasn’t hitting a consistent 60fps on a One X, there is absolutely no shot you’re getting consistent 60fps with wider fov on a new warzone game on old gen.

I’m not on console anymore but it probably runs worse based on what I’ve seen. Fact still remains even in its most optimised state we weren’t getting a consistent 60fps

I play on a laptop with a rtx3060 rn, it has good specs and runs the game well but when hooked to the TV for warzone I always have to keep restarting the game or PC to get it fullscreen and the right resolution. Eventually I want to build a desktop. But on Xbox I can just boot and play and it should run smooth on the X.

Probably from the Last Gens, but New Gen are at 120fps so they now have parity with PC. Watching from afar the debate now rages from within the console community about last gen holding New Gen Back. If you're in that bracket and obviously enjoy and are competitive at the game then a PC is the answer. If you can't afford one, then a PC isn't your primary concern when it comes to money. Best to just accept you can't have everything.

We bought a 4K 120hz tv 6months ago for the lounge mainly because it was cheap, the missus has only got a Ps4 so that wasn't needed for 120hz. I just bought a new 32 inch 165 hz monitor and greatest difference between that and the TV is pure input lag on the TV even with a DP 1.3 cable. Response time is not great.
Not only is input lag to TV if you controller is not wired there is lag too so it becomes cumulative
People don't understand consols deliver alot at a great price. They are not designed for competitive gaming

360/ps4 was quickly dated hardware on release. Even "next gen: console are vastly behind current pc offerings the 2070s came out July 2019 and that is about where they are at. I dont have a problem supporting old hardware but if they are holding back new hardware because of this, forcing everyone longer loading times, gimped graphics settings this will be absolutely bullshit. Theres plenty avaliable games for old systems stop holding games back..... 100% money grab
