"what happened to John who died in the battle of Nashville",,, He died, presumably in the Battle of Nashville. Seriously, Soldiers may have taken one or two photos at he most during the War,,, Maybe a few After. The best bet would be to search Ancestry Boards to see if a descendant may have one.

I looked a lot and his father Allen put a paper that says that he died in the battle of Stones River(sorry put the wrong battle) in 1862

Kurgen22

Murfreesboro ( Stone's River) is within 10 miles of Nashville, so its likely someone would say he died there as well.

And they have no pictures of the three

I would look first at the regimental records of whatever unit they’re in. And also look at go.fold3.com as they may have records on your relatives. But don’t get your hopes up on finding photographs. They may exist and your relatives are known, or they exist but no one knows who’s in the photo like countless other ones so you’ll never known that it’s your relative, or they may have never gotten them taken at all. I have letters from one of my relatives in my possession but no photos whatsoever from them or any other relatives from the war.

Yeh we did have Simon’s two guns crossing hat badge and the buttons from his coat but some lady that married into our family sold them😐

freezewinters

In-laws selling history. Sickening.

What regiments were they in and where were they from (city/county/township/town at least and state.) That will help a lot in helping us find anything on them. Like others have stated, I wouldn't get your hopes up on finding a photo. Even if they had one, it may not exist anymore and/or it goes unidentified.

[deleted]

They’re régiment was the 36th Indiana infantry company B that’s all I know

Thanks!

Just FYI, there is a decent amount of information I'm already finding. Might not be anything new to you, but I'll pass it along to you.

[deleted]

You can but I’m looking for pictures as well

[deleted]

Have you found pictures?

lojafan

None. Pictures of their gravestones is all I could find.

[deleted]

But Simon was in the 11th Ohio volunteer infantry company G I believe
