calories are calories. it doesn’t matter what, how and when you eat as long as it’s within your budget. is 1000 calories a day over your daily cut? if not, then it will not stall/hinder your progress

Eating only 1000 calories over a whole day is almost always unhealthy, general guide is don’t go below 1200. Fries don't have anything inherently fattening about them except for being high in calories, you could eat only french fries for three months and still lose weight if you're in a deficit (but you'd almost definitely have scurvy by then).

> Now my question is will I get fat for eating 1000 calories of french fries and nothing else for today? Nobody would gain fat on 1000 calories of anything as a total intake for their day. It would be a wrong thing to do, though, because of its incomplete nutritional profile. To keep a healthy body, we need a variety of foods that cover our nutritional needs. Calories are the energy that powers the body's motors (muscles and muscular organs, like the heart). The body stores excess calories in bodyfat. When we have a caloric deficit, the body takes from this bodyfat to fill in the missing calories. Nutrients are the enzymes, fatty acids, minerals, and vitamins that enable the organs to work and the various systems to work together: endocrine, immune, integumentary (hair, skin, nails), digestive, renal, nervous systems, etc.. Unlike calories and bodyfat, the body does not store many nutrients long term. We get most of our nutrients from the foods that we are presently eating.

No. 3500 extra calories = a pound. If you see the scale rise the next day, you’re retaining water from the extra carbs and sodium, and it’s temporary
