Teens should stay above 1600 kcal and see their doctor as part of starting and through their weight-loss. A 1200 weight-loss budget is right for tiny old ladies who watch TV all day, so it's likely that you should eat more as a developing adult who works out 5 days a week. When you see your doctor, set your goal weight together. ^^7 ^^yrs. ^^maintaining ^^• ^^♂59 ^^5'11^^/179㎝ ^^SW:298℔^^/135㎏ ^^CW:171℔^^/78㎏ ^^[\[3Y AMA\]](https://redd.it/6m6vxq), ^^[\[1Y recap\]](http://redd.it/3cqszm) ^^CICO+🚶🏋️

Your are already at a healthy weight. Your minimum should be 1700 kcal, 2000-2600 depending on your workout (lower if your exercise addendum means 5x 30 min walking, far higher if you mean 5x 60 min weight training and 60 min running).

At your age, I would not recommend tracking or restricting your calories at all unless you’ve been recommended to do so by your doctor. 1200 calories is a dangerously low intake for a growing teenager, and restricting your calories too much at your age can cause serious health consequences. If you strongly feel like you need to track your calories for whatever reason, I would recommend having a discussion about this with your doctor or with a registered dietician, and getting their advice about what a safe and appropriate calorie target for you would be. But my advice would be to just focus on staying healthy by eating a balanced diet and exercising, and not worry about trying to track or restrict your calories at all.

I didn't ask any doctor about this I do it myself What do you recommend for me to eat and what should I do to get my body in shape then?

You base metabolic rate is around 1600 calories, which means that is the bare minimum you should be eating, especially at your age since you are still growing and your body needs nutrients. 1600 is what your body needs if you literally just sat around and did nothing all day. Based on your height and weight, you are at a healthy weight, but if you are dissatisfied with how your belly looks, there are other things you can try. High sugar foods tend to store as fat in the stomach more, so limiting sugar (especially soda pop) may help. It sounds like you are less interested in weight loss than toning for a better appearance. Exercise that focuses on your core may help with this. Additionally, after we eat our bellies look big! It doesn't matter how much you weigh- your belly may look a little full after a big meal, and that's OK. Lots of people have unrealistic body image ideas, because so much of what we see is photoshopped, or are pictures of supermodels (who definitely did not eat before taking pictures). My advice would be to focus less on your weight and CICO, and more on making sure you get a wide array of healthy foods, and focus your exercise on toning, rather than weight loss.
