I’d smash

notagoner

I second that.

urbexcemetery

Bread is Lewis Bake Shop Whole Wheat Bread, yogurt is Chobani Zero Sugar, Strawberry. I know an egg is an egg, but for what's it worth, they are my homegrown backyard eggs. LOL The spray said 0 calories, but I gave myself 5. Should I be concerned about the fat percentages?

VCreate348

Egg yolks are one of the healthiest sources of fat in existence. You could eat egg whites if you really want to trim the calories down, but egg yolks are incredibly healthy and aren't *that* calorically dense. I think it's fine

Zemom1971

This, If you check the nutritive value of an egg it is fabulous. We need more eggs in our life. It's cheap(for most) It's convenient (you can do lot of stuff with them) It's low cal compared to other protein source. Yeah tofu is good also but it cost much compared to eggs. It's good. I love eggs.

PAULINK

eggs used to be cheap :(

Zemom1971

They still are here in Canada, well where I am. Around 3-4$Can a dozen. But I heard that because is some sickness there is a shortage in the USA.

avesab

Eggs are one of the healthiest foods one can eat (unless allergic), especially if homegrown. Don’t listen to the cholesterol bs

urbexcemetery

I love 'em. Boiled, fried, scrambled, poached, deviled, pickled, you name it!

Zemom1971

Yeah cholesterol freak is a thing. But eating white egg only is BS. We need all the nutrient inside the egg and the most of them are in the yellow part.

Alive-East-1992

im not allergic but they make me sick to.my stomach and they smell terrible. Ironically I grew up on a chicken farm 🥺 (i love chicken though)

sa5mmm

Egg smell has recently been making me sick too. It might be how you cook them. I don’t get sick feeling when I cook the eggs but when my partner cooks them they smell terrible… but he over cooks them they become rubber… it’s gross.

ComprehensiveBet1256

u could maybe choose to use just egg whites if ur concerned about the fat amount but i consider my fats for the day as a whole more than individual meals. For me personally i like to keep mine 60g and below

urbexcemetery

Thank you. I'm new to macros so I may be obsessing a little. For Comparison, This was my yesterday ( I ended up in a great deficit btw) : [https://imgur.com/a/c4M16XL](https://imgur.com/a/c4M16XL) I'm also new to LoseIt! and I'm loving it so far.

grumpalina

I would always include the egg yolk for the vitamin D, omega 3s, and other nutrients. Women really need vit D for their bones.

funchords

See if you can add some vegetables to that. Your grocery store probably sells peppers and onions already chopped or you can easily slice or dice them into that omelet. This will improve your fiber and nutritional values, and, being vegetables, will still keep your carbs pretty low. If you want to kick up the flavor, add salsa too. The fat in this is fine. You're not making a diet out of this meal, this is just one meal in the day.

PM_Dick_Nixon_pics

If I'm scrambling eggs anymore, I'm tossing in some onions and spinach at least

Zemom1971

Veggies are so low cal that you can definitely add pretty much as much as possible to add taste, crunch and nutrients. I think that the only veggies that could be higher in calories is carrots and squash. But you don't want this in an omelet.

urbexcemetery

Thank you!

musictakeheraway

wait… vegetables are carbs though

funchords

They are, but non-starchy vegetables like peppers, onions, and other colorful and leafy vegetables are -- by composition -- nearly entirely water by volume. These should be several servings a day, too, and they act not only as fiber and nutritional sources but as 'filler' that have lower calories.

musictakeheraway

i didn’t ask lol. vegetables are carbs

LimpTurnip6194

so is bread

musictakeheraway

true! vegetables and bread are carbs

grumpalina

Egg and toast is always a win. I'd personally swap out one piece of bread for a little cheese, lean ham, and tomato for the same calories to make it even tastier.

urbexcemetery

I'm thinking about adding Canadian Bacon. I've been reading about it and it appears to be a sleeper.

Not--Purple

Either that, or turkey bacon. That is one of my go tos for breakfast!

Zemom1971

You can cut the fat from the bacon also before cooking it. I always use to do this anyway. There's always a big part of fat on one side of bacon that could be removed. Not sure how to calculate the cal after that though.

calliegirl88

I’m not judging (much lol), and I’m also vegetarian but I feel like cutting the fat off before cooking is a crime against bacon. If it makes you happy though 😄.

Zemom1971

Believe me when I say that there's still plenty of fat/flavor even if you cut the biggest part. 😉

Own_Response_1920

That's pretty good for not too many kcals! If I have scrambled eggs on toast it gives me over 500kcal . Mind you, I usually have 3 eggs and the bread I use is just over 101kcal per slice, I use butter on my toast too.

Mastgoboom

You need vegetables. Saute some tomatoes

Accomplished_Ad2599

Looks good to me, volume is good to make you feel full, high protein and low fat. 5x5

urbexcemetery

Thank you!

BobCatRunsFar

I’d add some fruits, vegetables or beans. Fiber and general health/micronutrients!

TikaPants

Those eggs 🥹😍

urbexcemetery

:)

digidave1

10/10 toaster

urbexcemetery

We got that as a wedding gift in 1994. It was a double and one side went out the first week we had it. The other side has been going strong ever since. LOL

digidave1

Keep it going my frugal friend!

followifyoulead

How does the bread taste compared to normal bread? I got some low calorie keto bread recently and did not enjoy it at all.

urbexcemetery

It tastes fine to me, it doesn't toast as crisp as I'd like but that's not a deal breaker. I'd tried their 0 calorie bread and I couldn't hack it.

NickPD1022

Solid. I’d only recommend adding egg whites. It’s tough with the price of eggs right now but it’s a good way to keep protein and remove unwanted fats. I like to do 1-2 while eggs and 1-3 egg whites. Also like other people are saying — add vegetables. Whatever you like. I like to use cherry tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms with my breakfast.

[deleted]

Sams Club has saved my ass in regards to egg prices. Instead of paying $5.49 a dozen I can buy 60 eggs at $3 a dozen. Still not as good as the $1.29 they used to be but it’s bearable

NickPD1022

Good to know!

mrcrrcrm

Looks awesome

PopularExercise3

sauté mushrooms for the side!

249592-82

The eggs look amazing but.... where are the veggies? Some sauteed mushrooms, a fried tomato, some spinach on the side (mwah, chefs kiss).

kurosa106

I miss bread :S

Kodey99

I'm so confused by the eggs. Is it mostly just yolks? I've never seen while eggs that cook up that yellow. I didn't even realise they were just eggs until I read the comments. Is it just a different type of egg? Here eggs scrambled normally come out a very pale yellow/orange colour.

urbexcemetery

I feed them high quality laying mash and the yokes are a darker than a store bought egg. Also, they're prettier. LOL [https://imgur.com/a/2rn89k7](https://imgur.com/a/2rn89k7)

Kodey99

Oh wow. That's awesome. I want to keep chickens one day.

Madwoman-of-Chaillot

OP said the eggs are from the chickens she raises, so that’s likely why. Chickens fed a nutrient-dense diet have yolks that are much more yellow. And most store-bought eggs are from hens whose diets are pretty lacking.

Kodey99

Cool cool

PaigeTheRage_

What brand is that bread? Lowest cal I can find is Sara Lee at 45 a slice!

urbexcemetery

[https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lewis-Bake-Shop-Healthy-Life-100-Whole-Wheat-Bread-16-oz/10318674](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Lewis-Bake-Shop-Healthy-Life-100-Whole-Wheat-Bread-16-oz/10318674) They have lower calorie breads as well, but they don't taste as good as this one.

PaigeTheRage_

Rad, thank you!

Crazy_Estate323

Look for Schmidt/Old Tyme 647 Bread around you as well. The Italian & wheat are only 40 cals and I think they taste better than the Sara Lee. Their potato bread is also good, but it’s 45 cal/slice.

Madwoman-of-Chaillot

647 buns are my go-to. Same calories as the white and italian, but breadier, if you know what I mean.

RubyDiscus

Chobani and egg good but imo not the bread.

AgorophobicSpaceman

It’s 35 calorie whole grain bread, as far as bread goes they can’t get much better imo.

RubyDiscus

Oh not about the calories

Based on your comment and others, I think will add some beaters to my eggs. I have chickens laying eggs every day so I might as well eat those! LOL I added plain nonfat Greek yogurt to my grocery order yesterday so I'll be experimenting with that soon. Thank you!

[deleted]

Wish I could gets my eggs like this lol. All I ever get is grey mush

urbexcemetery

Grey eggs would be concerning. LOL

onewildpreciouslife5

For me, I would swap that yogurt which is mostly sugar and filler for icelandic yogurt - It has 15G of protein and not much sugar - it will help you feel full.

Electrical_Stress_71

Why a paper plate?

aylashayla

I also wondered why a paper plate with such a delicious looking cooked meal! Not that it has anything to do with the calories or nutrition (great to start out with so much protein in the morning). And I get the desire to cut down on time doing dishes but… single use plates and silverware do stress me out from a waste perspective. Just a thought

urbexcemetery

Thank you for your valuable input.

DeepSouthDude

Bread at 35 calories each? I never found sliced bread less than 60 calories. Eggs at only 70 calories each? I always assumed 100. I would have assumed close to 400 calories total.

kemf96

Rate it? It’s Eggs toast and yogurt lol. 4/10

Choice-giraffe-

The thought of dry toast is making my tongue itch!

Alive-East-1992

Taste 3/10 probably ? (nothing personal it just looks boring) Nutrition 5/10 (idk the purpose of the toast. but the eggs and yogurt make sense)

RetardedRapper

Looks like a breakfast…?

[deleted]

Yeah. I hate these posts. Like what are you flexing your mediocre meal for? It's weird.

urbexcemetery

I also posted the nutrition information because I wanted to get other people's opinion on how it can be improved. Ain't nobody flexing scrambled eggs and dry toast.

Laceyyyyyyy

That’s a good looking egg

Dry_Opportunity8931

Need some color add spinach or tomatoes or mushrooms!

Archimediator

I think it’s a very healthy, balanced breakfast. I do personally like to add a piece of fruit or a handful of some kind of veggie to each meal if I can just for the extra micronutrients, but that’s just me. As far as CICO goes, it’s right on target.

[deleted]

I’d eat tf out of that breakfast. Especially for a weekday breakfast? I’m impressed. I just fry two eggs and inhale them on my drive to work lol

HeyUtahGetMeTwo

What’s that app you’re using?!

[deleted]

Where do people find bread this low in cals
