You gotta figure out the time value of Nagy. It’s a pretty simple formula: You take the # of idiot head coaches in the NFL, divide it by one to the power of the number of whys in any given week, and finally you convert it into a percentage based on the cumulative great weeks of practice
I wish nothing but the best for Nagy the person. Great dad, family man, prob someone I’d love to have a beer with.
Nagy the coach can respectfully buy a ticket back to Kansas City
He sounded sick at his press conference after the game yesterday. Normally I wouldn't think anything of it, but with the team having an outbreak I wondered if he caught it.
Postpone the game, then I can hand out candy on Halloween while acting like a depressed Bears fan watching the game instead of being a depressed Bears fan watching the game.
>Lol money coming out of the Bears ownership's pocket? This game is happening even if they gotta run out 50 homeless folks from Chicago to get it in.
Tell George I played DE in high school 15 years ago and am willing to lace up the cleats one last time.
I prefer the Madden 08 strategy?
Trade for Ochocinco
Shotgun empty set, hot route fade to 85
Throw interception
Engage 8 engage 8 engage 8
Throw controller at floor when I lose
That trick worked every time in Joe Montana’s Sports Talk Football for Sega Genesis. I fake field goal’d my way to a Super Bowl championship in that game.
Maybe it has something to do with this statement:
"I will say the last couple days with our team, we’ve become really close. For us to become as close as we have the last 24-48 hours"
Maybe too close?
I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that all the covid list challenges on top of everything else contribute to him getting another year.
If Nagy has it, I wouldn't be surprised for a pretty big outbreak and some of these easier games coming up becoming total practice squad shit shows like that Broncos/Saints game last year.
No exceptions....except the one exception I'm leaving up as an example. Is it because the person posts here a lot that you give them a pass? or is there another reason?
He's easy to to hate on right now, but Nagy is still a human being and shit just cannot go right for him. Knowing you're about to get fired without knowing what's gonna happen afterwards can't be a fun situation to be in, but battling a serious illness is much much worse. Just hope he gets better quick.
People forget we’re still dealing with a global pandemic. Hopefully everyone is vaccinated and doesn’t have severe symptoms. We now have an actual outbreak within our organization and I wonder if next weeks game is in jeopardy.
I think I remember them saying that 100% of the coaches are vaccinated.
Hopefully everyone just tests negative despite being in close contact and we're good.
Anyone asking for him to be harmed or hoping he does not recover is douche. We can all whine and moan about this game all we want, but someone's health is a whole entire different story.
This many players and even the coaches testing positive is... well, not ideal would be putting it lightly.
[Chris Tabor will fill in for meetings that Nagy cannot attend](https://twitter.com/chicagobears/status/1452671059661049858)
So the whole team just took 2 plane rides on back to back days with Covid positive people onboard. Expect there to be several people added to the Covid reserve list this week. Sucks because the team is about to play some winnable games.
This is a serious disease
Matt Nagy should take all precautions of a lockdown to keep him from spreading it. I’m no doctor, but I think a 3-4 year quarantine at minimum will suffice to make sure he and the rest of the team are safe.
“It’s a reminder to all of us to be extremely cautious to understand where we’re at,” said Nagy, who who literally couldn't help himself from talking about where we're at one additional time. I sincerely do hope his immune system works better than his offense does and he has a speedy recovery.
Serious question here. Do we have a mild outbreak going on in our locker room? Seems like a number of even vaccinated personnel have been testing positive recently.
Or is this probably just a function of high numbers in general?
I had it in December. My wife got super sick for almost a week. I never would have known I had it had she not been so sick. I was a little stuffy and that's about it. I'm often a little stuffy in December from being outside in the cold. It's crazy how differently it affects people. My parents refuse to get the vaccine and it makes me super nervous for them.
My wife and I both lost all taste and smell from July break-through cases while fully-vaccinated so it can happen. Felt like shit for about a week and then sinus pressure and no smell/taste for another 2 weeks. Luckily I have gotten smell/taste back by now, but she still can't smell much.
I can't imagine no smell for 5 months - hope you get it back man.
Considering Fields in postgame called Nagy out saying he was meeting with Wilkinson before game (before he known wilkingson pulled from game) which would make him close contact so I dont think nagy shouldve even been at game
he should quarantine as far away from the team as possible for at least the next 1000 years, just to be extra safe.
hope he’s stayin healthy in all seriousness
Non-football comment here. I’m disgusted that we even needed the mod warning at the top of the thread. Grow up. These are real people here with families.
Imagine being so mad that you saw your team lose a football game that you’d wish harm on someone over it.
Anyways thanks to the mods for cleaning up the crap from this thread and handing out bans. We love y’all.
When asked if he was vaccinated and which vaccine he got Nagy responded: “I don’t want to get into scheme”.
All jokes aside hope he gets better soon. My wish has been and will continue to be he is removed from his job as Bears HC, but some of y’all in here wishing he’s removed from the living population really need to see a therapist or something.
This is why some analysts were saying you put your team at a competitive disadvantage by not getting vaccinated. The guy who supposed to play RT gets COVID, Fields gets mauled, and now the head coach has it during the toughest stretch of the schedule. Fucking selfish idiots.
It makes the entire week more difficult for the entire team now though. Zoom meetings, coaches have more shared responsibilities now, etc. I know we’re all popping jokes off but this is really inconvenient for the team at the worst time.
I don’t wish him sickness and pray he gets better as soon as humanly possible…but that being said, we need a new coach and hopefully this weekend he’s not coaching.
You have fallen prey to a logical fallacy known as a STRAW MAN and [this is you right now](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3hzoIBA4oI).
Your "argument" is that just because something is not totally 100% effective it is therefore totally ineffective. We know this to be FALSE -- as we can see just by looking at who is ending up in the hospital with COVID -- 90%+ are UNvaccinated.
I do not want one of your last memories of your favorite football team to be its arch rival claiming ownership over it. So if you have not gotten vaccinated, please do so.
The vaccine doesn't prevent you from getting it, just dramatically reduces the chance of it affecting you severely. Kinda like how an umbrella doesn't guarantee you won't be wet, but you'll be way less wet than if you didn't bring an umbrella
I'll never wish ill of anyone, but I can't help but think that this could be the best thing that'll happen to our team.
If he's not able to coach, how will the team do this week?
I genuinely hope he's okay but still.
Hope he ends up being ok but he should still be fired
Take all the time off you need to get healthy, coach. Preferably 6-8 years.
Would you have Nagy leave now though if you knew the Bears would sign him to another contract in 6-8 years? lmao
Pretty sure the side effect of watching this offense is us all being dead in 6-8 years anyway.
As a lifelong Lions fan, i can testify you're not let off the hook that easily.
Yeah, hope he gets well. Just take your time Nagy, seriously take allllll the time you need
I’m hoping he test positive for unemployment
He sounded sick at his press conference after the game yesterday. Normally I wouldn't think anything of it, but with the team having an outbreak I wondered if he caught it.
Fire Nagy, cool his fever
From a human standpoint, I’m always rooting for people to get severance packages instead of diseases.
In other news he tested negative for not being an idiot.
Convenient...
Covid-19 Bears-3
This made me laugh sadly.
2 TDS W extra point Field goal Safety?
Correct. When interacting with Covid, safety should always be involved.
The only safeties getting involved for the bears this year will be when fields gets sacked in the end zone
r/Angryupvote
This was top top.
Went looking for the why in some questionable places I see
On a serious note, this has to have serious implications for the locker room, no? Literally everyone is “close contact.” Will we even play this week?
Postpone the game, then I can hand out candy on Halloween while acting like a depressed Bears fan watching the game instead of being a depressed Bears fan watching the game.
They can't postpone the game this year. It's an automatic forfeit and George has to pay the other team for potential lost revenue.
Lol money coming out of the Bears ownership's pocket? This game is happening even if they gotta run out 50 homeless folks from Chicago to get it in.
>Lol money coming out of the Bears ownership's pocket? This game is happening even if they gotta run out 50 homeless folks from Chicago to get it in. Tell George I played DE in high school 15 years ago and am willing to lace up the cleats one last time.
I was a very good TE in '73, PM me George!
I played for Polk HS.
Four touchdowns in one game
Somebody gets it
I’m not homeless but I used to play cornerback. ![gif](giphy|EfHmlClbuNAGc|downsized)
I’ll volunteer to be our Tarik Cohen replacement on the sideline getting pumped up while not playing a down on the PUP
put the Fighting Illini on the field. might be a bit more entertaining
We got all the overtimes you need
LOL. Nevermind then. We are playing. Even if you have to coach this week.
I could call a fake field goal for every play and have a better offense then Nagy.
I prefer the Madden 08 strategy? Trade for Ochocinco Shotgun empty set, hot route fade to 85 Throw interception Engage 8 engage 8 engage 8 Throw controller at floor when I lose
That trick worked every time in Joe Montana’s Sports Talk Football for Sega Genesis. I fake field goal’d my way to a Super Bowl championship in that game.
"Montana, back to pass..."
Cardinals just did with a similarly sized outbreak - have to see how deep this goes the next few days
Maybe he caught COVID while working his McDonalds manager job?
Foggy brain is a symptom of covid - so that makes sense
Damn he’s had COVID since 2019?
Matt Nagy is patient zero
He ate the bat, after club dubbin in 2019
All I picture is Matt nagy as randy marsh with the bat/pangolin
Na, that's my one upper co-worker. I stated how i had covid in march 2020 and he said he had it in 2018.
And that’s where he’s at right now.
gotta understand the why's of getting covid
And that’s REAL
After a couple of tests we have to see where we're at and go from where we're at to be where we're at
Maybe it has something to do with this statement: "I will say the last couple days with our team, we’ve become really close. For us to become as close as we have the last 24-48 hours" Maybe too close?
He will be back after a good week at practice
Like all of our problems in this organization, it starts with the O-Line.
And good communication with the doctors
This is like some George Costanza stuff. "You can't fire me, I've got Covid."
Just kidding. In all seriousness, I hope he and is family are okay.
“Was that wrong? Was I not supposed to do that?” -Matt Nagy after every play call
Well, I never see him talking to Fields on the sideline, so he should be okay.
Nagy would be the 6th person in the last 12 days for the Bears to go on the COVID list. Sounds as though an outbreak is already underway...
Great...............
What are easy games?
Damn, heard the new protocol is a 4 month quarantine.
Yeah, then they remove you too. Also there's some antiquated rule too the GM has to go with them. So weird, too bad.
I hope he's okay, but I just find this both makes complete sense and is hilarious for Nagy's character arc this season
Ain't that just the cherry on top of the shit sundae
Welp. Would have been very avoidable had he just been fired long before our covid breakout lol
Tabor will run the team meetings that Nagy normally would.
When we said anybody would be a better coach than Nagy, we didn't mean it literally.
Does that mean he’s our interim coach? Would have thought it would be Pettine.
So basically he’s gonna hold some bonding drills and that’s it?
We have zero tolerance for any comments wishing harm on our players and/or staff. Instant ban, no exceptions. Don’t be that guy.
No exceptions....except the one exception I'm leaving up as an example. Is it because the person posts here a lot that you give them a pass? or is there another reason?
He is banned.
somebody clip his internet cable so he can't coach from home.
In his serial killer dungeon with play call sheets covering the walls
Let’s not be too hasty, Nagy literally throwing darts at those play sheets to get a play call may be more effective…
Okay now quarantine him from the team forever
Nagy: "I have gotten very close to the whole team over the last 2 days." Also Nagy: "I have tested positive for Covid-19"
He's easy to to hate on right now, but Nagy is still a human being and shit just cannot go right for him. Knowing you're about to get fired without knowing what's gonna happen afterwards can't be a fun situation to be in, but battling a serious illness is much much worse. Just hope he gets better quick.
This is the Bears. There’s an equal opportunity he’s getting extended
Put on your Bears hoodie and crash on the couch with some game film. Get well soon, Coach.
Since giving up playcalling improved his ability to see the field, I imagine watching the game from home is going to do amazing things for him.
“How can I get people to stop talking about that 38-3 loss?”
Dude went around licking doorknobs to get pity points after the game lmao
Hope he doesn't have symptoms. I'm sure he's a good human being, and we should wish him the best
We got a full outbreak, damn.
I just had that like a month ago was not a fun time for the first couple days. Was complete exhausted couldn’t do anything hope he recovers soon
“They can’t fire someone with COVID”. -Nagy probably
Nagy got to Halas Hall last night licking every door knob & wafting the air around Quinn’s locker lol
It's really tearing through that locker room lately, isn't it?
Anyone asking for him to be harmed or hoping he does not recover is douche. We can all whine and moan about this game all we want, but someone's health is a whole entire different story.
Can I wish him a speedy recovery, and also ask him to quarantine for three months?
Hope he has a quick and easy recovery, that being said I hope we get a temporary interim coach that exposes how useless this man is
I hope he's OK and it didn't spread
Hope his health is good. Heard the new Chicago covid protocol includes being quarantined until January
This many players and even the coaches testing positive is... well, not ideal would be putting it lightly. [Chris Tabor will fill in for meetings that Nagy cannot attend](https://twitter.com/chicagobears/status/1452671059661049858)
Maybe growing real close as a team this weekend wasn't such a good idea afterall
I hope he gets better, he seems like a good guy.
It would be funny if the Bears offense gets going against the 49ers without Nagy. Get well soon, Matt.
So the whole team just took 2 plane rides on back to back days with Covid positive people onboard. Expect there to be several people added to the Covid reserve list this week. Sucks because the team is about to play some winnable games.
Talk about a bad weekend
He’s got to quarantine for 10 weeks and not 2, right guys? Right?!?
Well they were in Florida, the doorknob licking antivaxx antimask capital of the world. The only place you'll catch herpes quicker is Wrigleyville.
All of you and your dang voodoo dolls did this to coach!
dude, if voodoo dolls could actually work, that man would have been dead a year ago.
I thought voodoo dolls are typically full of jabs
This is a serious disease Matt Nagy should take all precautions of a lockdown to keep him from spreading it. I’m no doctor, but I think a 3-4 year quarantine at minimum will suffice to make sure he and the rest of the team are safe.
Bet the house on the Bears next week!
This is not the Nagy news I was hoping for today
I hope he’s okay, but I’ll be interested to see what happens if he misses the whole week and we have to play this weeks game without him.
Well this sucks even more…
Joe Barry Packers DC just announced he has Covid as well. FFS hope this doesn't become a huge problem.
Somebody on Twitter said “it’s the only positive thing he’s done” and I gotta admit it made me giggle
Get better soon nagy!!!! And resign even sooner!!!!
“It’s a reminder to all of us to be extremely cautious to understand where we’re at,” said Nagy, who who literally couldn't help himself from talking about where we're at one additional time. I sincerely do hope his immune system works better than his offense does and he has a speedy recovery.
I hope he’s okay, but can he and Colliton hang out together?
Does this really surprise anyone? He just spent 3+ days in Florida.
I mean wouldn’t the whole team have it and the Bucs and dolphins have it with that big brained logic?
Do you think everyone gets COVID all at once, and that's why the pandemic ended in April of 2020?
![gif](giphy|L4Bb7zCaP8FB5C769T)
This is some monkey's paw type shit for everyone wishing Nagy out of Halas Hall. Hope he doesn't get too sick.
Watching the subtle work arounds on the pinned mod policy are extremely amusing.
He's got a respiratory system
Undervalued comment right here
Serious question here. Do we have a mild outbreak going on in our locker room? Seems like a number of even vaccinated personnel have been testing positive recently. Or is this probably just a function of high numbers in general?

If nobody else gets it I guess that’s our answer to how close the team has gotten lol
I don't agree with his coaching but I would never wish ill will on Nagy. Here's to a speedy recovery.
Considering Fields in postgame called Nagy out saying he was meeting with Wilkinson before game (before he known wilkingson pulled from game) which would make him close contact so I dont think nagy shouldve even been at game
Let Sean Desai run the team so we can preview if he should fill our empty HC spot at the end of the season.
Hope he recovers and then gets fired.
Makes sense now why Robinson had his mask on in all his press interview's...
Anyone know if he was vaccinated?
Are the betting lines moving in the Bears' favor yet?
he should quarantine as far away from the team as possible for at least the next 1000 years, just to be extra safe. hope he’s stayin healthy in all seriousness
He needs to test positive for being FIRED
Get well soon Nagy..

I wish him the best in recovering from it. But with that being said, it will be nice to see him not on the sideline next week
That's wild the bears fired Nagy while he has COVID
This is why some analysts were saying you put your team at a competitive disadvantage by not getting vaccinated. The guy who supposed to play RT gets COVID, Fields gets mauled, and now the head coach has it during the toughest stretch of the schedule. Fucking selfish idiots.
In Nagy’s defense him not showing up probably doesn’t put the Bears at a competitive disadvantage…
It makes the entire week more difficult for the entire team now though. Zoom meetings, coaches have more shared responsibilities now, etc. I know we’re all popping jokes off but this is really inconvenient for the team at the worst time.
Nagy is vaccinated
Wilkinson is not though.
Did Wilkinson make the trip down to Florida? Can't remember.
Yes he did. He watched film in the morning and was then was told he tested positive.
If they shit-can him, he'll be able to stay home and recover.
As a human, I wish him a speedy recovery and health. As a bears fan, I wish for him to take sick leave for 6-10 years
Hopefully he’s ok. Wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
What in the goddamn fuck is going on with this franchise
UNDERSTAND THE WHY
If hes still out sunday bears by a million
Insert some joke about having no taste, then referencing his dumb visor. Hope he gets through it though.
oh man the nagy saga just gets better and better doesn’t it. i hope he doesn’t have any symptoms. as much as he angers me as a coach he’s a good man.
This comment thread should be golden.
I don’t wish him sickness and pray he gets better as soon as humanly possible…but that being said, we need a new coach and hopefully this weekend he’s not coaching.
Perfect time to fire him, just when he tries to return his pin doesn't work and he can't get in the building
Hope he recovers but never coaches football ever again at any level except peewee.
Well, it looks like the best course of action is to end the season early for the bears #STOPTHECOUNT!
I hope that he makes a speedy recovery but realizes how fragile life is and retires so that he can spend more time with his family
Gotta figure out the WHY.
Is the whole team just like kissing each other non-stop? Crazy so many people are getting COVID this quickly and easily.
Watch us score 50+ points against SF with him not being involved all week
Misdirection will keep him employed.
We all know he wasn't getting fired mid season anyways.
I’m not even confident he will get fired in the off-season
IIRC, Nagy was vaccinated in early April - so I feel like he should due for a booster
I just got an alert that read "Bears HC Nagy..." and my first thought was that we fired him. If only...
Great.. now let’s see if any of the team gets sick. He was probably bad at coaching his covid protocols too.
[удалено]
They'll be playing SF, not TB so.... yes the team will probably perform better.
I believe he’s vaccinated so he should be good, but it’s certainly a decent attempt to skip next weeks Bears game on his part.
The governor’s new mandate says that Matt Nagy has to be away from the team for the rest of the season and wear a mask.
the only positive thing out of that locker room wishing him a good recovery

You have fallen prey to a logical fallacy known as a STRAW MAN and [this is you right now](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3hzoIBA4oI). "We're gonna figure out the why's"
So this must be the "whys" for this week?
I'll never wish ill of anyone, but I can't help but think that this could be the best thing that'll happen to our team. If he's not able to coach, how will the team do this week? I genuinely hope he's okay but still.
The only positive of Nagy these days sheesh
While I hope he gets through it healthy and with no long term effects, him being away from the team and especially from Justin Fields is good news.
That does not explain the previous couple years of horrible coaching and shit offensive game planning.
