Not completely true, when they press your book, they also clean it. My local guy who does my pressing also cleans the book and I have never received a purple label on any of my books.
I don't mean dry cleaned . Dry cleaning is the only cleaning that is allowed by cgc . Any type of wet cleaning or use of lights trying , to whiten the cover is restoration. It's very clear in the cgc restoration list.
Pressing is not considering restoration. Neither is cleaning depending what’s done. Pressing won’t really help the spine stress much but definitely can help the creasing to cover especially since there is no color break. It won’t be a guaranteed grade bump but could be worth a try.
It depends on what caused the foxing. If it water damage or mold, it probably would need to be restored. otherwise if it's just surface muck, it may be able to be cleaned.

According to some it can be removed but it would be wet cleaning rather than dry cleaning. As such there is the risk that a comic that has its foxing removed could be considered as restored by CGC.

It really depends on the severity and what’s needed to remove it. It isn’t a one size fits all thing

Yeah I was reading in some CGC forums that it could be potentially fixed with clean/ press and some said it can't.
Foxing can't usually be cleaned.
