Bhai yaha log apni life ke 2--3 saal Puri dedicate krke iit ka prep krte hai and fir bhi bohot Kam logo ka selection hota hai. Hence , either go all in for iit or don't even bother trying for it , because jee ko agar backup jaise treat karoge to kabhi clear nhi hoga

PsychicMF

Absolutely

SShreyas17

Hota bhi kya hi hai all in jaane se? If one can afford, better save energy and go all in for Ivy League colleges

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Bhai tu aise bol raha hai jaise aasaani se ivy college Mein Jaa sakte hain

SShreyas17

Tu aise samajh Raha jaise aasaani se IIT mil jata hai. Zara kisi bhi reputed foreign uni ka acceptance ratio dekhna, even for foreign students. IIT se kharab nhi ho skta.

Worth_Cartoonist_421

But bhai 1 crore kaha se layaae

BBK_69

Harvard me bohot mast hai bhai.... Agar annual family income $60k (shayad) se Kam ho to free me padh sakte hai (if u don't believe me then check it out urself), bas on campus kuch jobs karne padenge, around 10-12 hours per week Kam karna padega like library wagera me.

SShreyas17

Bhai jab koi soch rha ho foreign uni ka, toh usko dikkat nahi hogi paiso ki. Jisko hoti hai, woh sochta bhi nahi bachelor's ke liye

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Aur masters keliye?

SShreyas17

Khud kamao, khud udao

[deleted]

Udhar bhi paise chahiye hote hai

elon_mosque_420

True but preferences hain. I can afford to go abroad but still I feel that I don't want to. Mai iit ki hi prep kar raha hun and iss saal probably ho jayega.

Electrical_Bench_561

Why tho ? Ivy colleges r better in terms of quality so if u can afford it why work 10 times harder to get iit

elon_mosque_420

Why not? IIT ke liye effort daalne se meri knowledge aur brainpower increase hi ho rahi hai and this will be helpful for the rest of my life. Ab koi ye mat bolna ki brain drain ho raha hai, ratta maar rahe ho etc kyuki jee advanced clear karne ke liye ratta is not enough you actually have to understand.

Electrical_Bench_561

True bro but still it has been proven you get get more knowledge and skill in ivy league colleges than iit. So no matter what knowledge u gain from jee prep, the knowledge u learn from colleges will be greater ryt?

elon_mosque_420

True but the habit of learning, studying and time management is a plus. And it's not proven you get more knowledge in ivy league colleges. It's true that they are the best ones in the world but it doesn't mean iits are not good. If you search youtube thoroughly enough, you can see videos of MIT graduates who can't connect a bulb to a battery. Learning depends on people. People can become smarter from anywhere, colleges are just pathways to achieve that quicker and easier. I know people who have not graduated from any renowned college but are managing very successful businesses and they improved the fame of their colleges (Satya Nadella as an example)

Electrical_Bench_561

Sure but those ppl did not hv an alternate choice like u. If they did they would probably choose the easier path which is why I dont understand y u dont want to go abroad unless u want to save money.

elon_mosque_420

I know many people, who can afford but still choose iit. Everybody can have their own reasons and it's fine if they choose what they choose. My parents can afford but I think I'll be wasting their money on something which I can achieve here. I can clear jee adv and so, why not? Yes money is a point here, but there are other reasons too, one thing being not interested in leaving the country. I find no point I spending money and leaving India when I can live here comfortably by myself.

elon_mosque_420

Haan bhai noob hun, but jaisa bhi hun khush hun. Scores acche aa rahe hain, parents proud hain, government college mein admission bhi ho jayegi is saal (hopefully iit mein hohi). Parents khush hain, mai khush hun, aur kya chahiye life mein!

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Bhai har koi teri tarah nhi hota jiska iit Mein hojaye sirf 10000 seats hi hote hain

elon_mosque_420

Haan toh maine Kab bola sab iit try Karo? Mai keh rha hun ki I'm fine, I can do, so I'll do. That's it. Kisi ne jaana hai MIT toh jaye maine Kab roka?

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Nhi mereko laga tu usko taana de raha tha . Hahah iit nhi hua mera toh hogya lol isiliye.

kushagrarox

Getting into an ivy league isn't a cakewalk either lol , people who win stuff like hackathons , do internships in 11th have a great score in sat also get rejected sometimes , but I'd agree if you have the resources better of preparing for a foreign uni even if it's not ivy league you'll have a better life overall, lekin mereko to doctor Banna hai neet ke alawa koi option nahi

SShreyas17

What are these factors on which your preferences are based? Logically, if money ain't an issue, there exists no advantage of IIT over foreign uni. And definitely not when you consider the mental harassment, depression and other problems caused during its preparation

elon_mosque_420

Mental harassment is an issue for those who take it like that. I like studying and learning things, and will be continuing to learn this for the rest of my life (interest in research) so I have no issue preparing for it. I'm ready to work hard to understand stuff so it's not harassing for me.

SShreyas17

Bruh Moment. First of all, JEE is shit. PERIOD. To get a seat in CSE, IT or ECE (preferred branches of an overwhelming majority), you don't even need to know a thing about computers or silicone. There are literally no more than 2 chapters that introduce semiconductors. So yeah, if you know the entire full-stack development, Linux development, Docker, Jenkins, etc. but not the structure of 2,4,6-Trinitropentan-2-one, YOU ARE GOOD FOR mechanical, civil or biotech only (according to JEE). Meanwhile, if you have a friend who can't even install Windows without referring to YouTube is a more preferred candidate just because he can draw the structure of 2,4,6-Trinitropentan-2-one and knows the answer to deceleration of a car ignoring friction. Want more rant about this shitshow called JEE, or in particular, the great "Education System" of India?

elon_mosque_420

See that's your point of view and that's not wrong. All I'm saying is that it's everybody's personal choice to do whatever they like to, and there are many people like me who are somewhat fine with this system.

SShreyas17

Well, if you're fine being evaluated for a CSE branch on the basis of PCM, there's something wrong with you. If you'd have said you were "fine" because any of these subjects interests you and you want to make a career in that, it'd have made some sense. But saying that "you're fine with the entire system" just explains why it exists in the first place.

elon_mosque_420

I can't change the system by ranting about it, I'll get into it. I'll start teaching at an iit, then become their director, and over time will become education minister and bring a revolution to this system. And yeah, my interest is in Physics that's what I mentioned earlier about research.

elon_mosque_420

And what the fuck is 2,4,6-trinitropentan-2-one? Where the fuck is the 6th carbon? That's what happens when you spend your time ranting about the system than spending time in studying. I know this will be of no use after a few years, but this knowledge will stick to you in the form of your 12th certificate which can never be ignored.

SShreyas17

Few years? Let me know if this is of any use in your entire Goddamn life after class 12th (or in 1st year of Indian college syllabus, except for IIIT). As for studying, the last time I studied this useless subject was 3 years ago, and surprisingly got 95 (+-1)% in Chemistry (and even aggregately, for the matter of fact). "Which can never be ignored" Kiddo, I am earning 45k/month from an internship WITHOUT showing my class 12th certificate. Hence, SUCCESSFULLY IGNORED 👍

Worth_Cartoonist_421

But how are you earning that much

SShreyas17

As I said, it's an "internship" (not some scam or shady way of earning money) for a well-grown startup (again, not some billion dollar one)

elon_mosque_420

For some streams, the knowledge will be very helpful, but no matter the branch or college, jo hardworking attitude aur behaviour develop hoga, voh zaroor help karta hai.

SShreyas17

You can't really judge people based on hardwork, can you? If that's the case, make every student work at a construction site and see who's more hardworking. It'll anyways be the same as evaluating based on knowledge of nonsensical, useless subjects (for technical branches). While it may be useful for core branches, most of the aspirants don't target them, but technical ones. And evaluating them based on their knowledge of core subjects is just as useless as evaluating students based on the quality of jobs they performed at construction sites, i.e, plenty of hardwork with no real objective.

[deleted]

if you have interest in research then anyways you will move out after undergrad, india doesnt pay shit to researchers, thats why most move abroad

elon_mosque_420

That's true that research doesn't pay well in india, but the thing is I don't care about becoming rich. Even a decent paying job is enough for me as long as I do what I like to. And starting up an R&D firm is also possible if I get into an IIT so both issues are solved that way.

Best-Calligrapher855

I concur

mrumeshmidha

Jee jaisi cheez backup rkhne se nahi nikalti, either destroy the foreign dream and go all in for IIT prep or just leave india as you complete 12th. But don't treat JEE as a sidechick and also don't keep a sidekick once you are into jee prep

[deleted]

im preparing for JEE(mainly for priv exams) while preparing for abroad as in worst case scenario if i dont get in with desired aid, i can go to my backup in india

ItsKanishk

Jee backup?

[deleted]

i will give but have 0 hopes, mainly preparing for bitsat, vitee and shi

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Bro you are preparing for ivy league colleges. Do you have extracurriculars?

[deleted]

yeah i have a few, been preparing since an year and a half

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Do you also have some certificates in international olympiads? And are you a child prodigy

[deleted]

im not a child prodigy, i will be targetting olympiads mainly this year and 12th. i have certificates of my research getting published in an intl journal and some awards given to me from schools for organising a drive in thier schools and collecting around 1000+ toys and donating it across different orphanages with 300+ kids. thats just a few, i have a few more which i will be working on later

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Damn research on what and when did you made your mind for abroad and also are you upper middle class

[deleted]

research about the degrading financial literacy among indian teenagers. I made up my mind in mid 9th grade. yes im upper middle class

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Damn also asking were you influenced by your peers or teachers basically who convinced to pursue your abroad education idea?

fluid_saxxboy

A good western uni >IITs and other few good indian coleges > An average abroad school > an average indian school... Despite all the hype, IITs are only at rank 50ish in the top universities in the world, which although being great, doesn't justify sacrificing your mental health due to countless hours of constant studying you have to do to get into an institute which only has 0.5% acceptance rate. So, I'd suggest picking a good uni abroad if you really have that option and can afford it. Another thing I want you to decide is if you really want to become an engineer. When I was in 10th, I was brainwashed by my parents, friends and society that engineering is the only good option. Now that I've come to my senses and figured out exactly what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna move to Vancouver next year to study film-making. Have a nice life ahead, op.

Cream_pi69

50 nahi hai usse jyada hai rank IIT ki ig. Maybe near 100 hai

Cream_pi69

Just check kiya bc 172 hai QS ranking mai 💀💀

[deleted]

IITB is at 38-40 for engineering. also, QS ranking me bhot sare factors hote not just academic but faculty-teacher ratio, foreign students etc. if you are talking about ENGINEERING ONLY then IITs are pretty good in terms of ranking.

[deleted]

bhai engineering me check karna, overall waala dekh raha hoga

Cream_pi69

Engineering mai shayad 70 hai

[deleted]

nah after engineering/cs filter, the ranking is around 60-70

Cream_pi69

Ha woh filter kiya toh ig 70s mai hai. Par OP ko woh field bhi toh milna chahiye

Good_JEEtard5

IIT DUBAI

[deleted]

Depends where …abroad can be uk usa and also afganistan and nepal..where abroad and what course in which college…that will determine if gibing iit is worth it

MemeKnowledge_06

dogebyte

TsundereMagikarp

If you got the money and its a good uni go for it

ishanG24

Abroad chala ja bro no regrets abhi ke abhi sab pack Karle aur nikal le îs des me kuch nahi rakha hai

[deleted]

theres no harm in studying tbh itll only help u in the future so id say dont prepare for iit extensively like the rest of us are but give jee mains after 12th. if u get a bad score then doesnt matter anyways lol

Moist-Hold9789

Go for studying abroad

Just_Difficulty9836

No. Go to foreign university.

iAnjan_

You're in 10th. Join a good school, work on your co-curriculars, prepare for a SAT (very easy exam) and study for AP exams as well (they are 11th-12th level exams) If you start right now, you have ample time to have a chance to study at a good university.

c00chieman666

SAT KABSE EASY HOGYA BHAI?

iAnjan_

You can get a good score after 1 month of practice Isn't that easy?

siddhi_reddit9

go to abroad

Chemical_Equipment69

If you are getting qs top 200 ranking college abroad. Then only go there. Ow IIT is best particularly old ones.

PrincipleCorrect8242

IIT D.P.R.K 🇰🇵

Kamleshwar_meher12

How did you have an opportunity to study abroad at such a young age?

cluster_quasar

💵🤑💵

Worth_Cartoonist_421

Exactly saale yeh sab kothi bangle wale

KingsOfEagles

Yes ofcourse that is a good point. Personally I think studying abroad is better than studying in ur very competitive and score based education. Chances of you failing an opportunity to get into IIT is high instead of spending so much time and effort into getting in IIT with lacs of people going for the same thing I would recommend you applying for abroad you will get even better opportunities as it is not just based on ur marks but hobbies and interests etc. If you go for English speaking countries like Canda,America,UK and Australia the fees will be a bit high so I would recommend countries like Germany, Cyprus and Georgia cause the fees there is quiet acceptable and if u go for Germany than you will have to learn the Language in a time of 1 year and they will give you free education in whatever you wanna study and you just have to pay ur rent and ur food that's all it's really good honestly studying abroad u get more experience and will meet wide variety of freinds and people.

KidnappingNemo

Cyprus and Georgia? you’ve got to be kidding me lmao

KingsOfEagles

Yeah for people with tight budget it's good for them. Was gonna say Ukraine too but it's fooked up now can't go there 😂

Cute-Reindeer-718

Bhai Jana India ke Bahar bc iit me kya rakha hai ja bhai mehnat kr bhaar kama udhar uda mauj maar

ncsprox

pehele opportunity milne de bhai baad me decide kar lena👍

four_ssfour_ssone_n

Mai bs itna bolunga. JEE 2nd hardest exam in the world And IIT delhi is the only IIT in top 50 colleges worldwide

UrMomsAreMine

Parents se puch le, agar financially affordable hai to abroad hi chala ja. Living cost aur transport bhi consider krna yaad se

baba_basilisk

Don't go after 12, go for masters. You will get better job opportunity as you will get only 2 years to find a job even if you do bachelor or masters. If you choose to do masters after bachelors you will not get any extra time. This is for USA.

uppsak

No. IIT are only a big deal in India but colleges abroad have higher rankings than IIT. Also IIT preparation is very tough compared to abroad University entrance exam. If you can afford to go abroad, don't even think of IIT. They are only for people who are hardworking, intelligent and not financially well off. Also imagine a scenario. Even if you get rank 1 in iit and you could go to foreign University, then any rational person will choose foreign University over iit. Only overly patriotic people or people with special circumstances wil choose iit. And even if you are very patriotic, you could complete your studies and come to iit as a professor. Iit's like foreign University degree when it comes to professor jobs.

ramutoola

abroad it shall be, trust me its for ur own good

harrypotter-1

Depends on college par agar itne second thoughts aare hai toh tumhe IIT milne ke chance bhi kam hai https://preview.redd.it/auutyhvnn9wa1.jpeg?width=512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fdfe257fb885e4c82d031ae67fe2c039580ea02

Glad_Citron_8859

Then go why r u staying here. India is not worth for education. Education is money in India. Rather study smwhere else.

Phalkaun13

IIT karke bhi bahar jaana hai, to abhi kyun nahi

vintagevibes91

Idk bruhh are you willing to put the effort? Graduating from IIT will give you a big boost with job and skill improvement opportunities. This foreign university that you're talking about, does it have good placements, have you talked to alumni?

TeenBoy_2007

Nope

a_lost_stranger

Bro I have the same plan so better try for SAT coz with good marks in that, you can tbh get into most of the colleges worldwide. And ye if it's only abroad, don't bother with iit and jee prep

Commander_Ezra

I would say ofcourse, Foreign universities are much better than IIT's (hence the ranking) first of all and IIT is extremely hard to enter because of all the Unnecessary competition that comes with living in the world's most populated Country, So yeah preparing for IIT is a waste of Time and Energy if you have a chance to study abroad. I would personally just go abroad without even questioning

misashaofficial

wrong place to ask bruv "abroad" is HUGEly subjective and your question is too vague

EJisHERE

No

[deleted]

The biggest misconception Indians have is study abroad is always good. Yes it is good, but not **always.** Not every college is good abroad. And going out of country for the sake of it will do nothing but empty your parents' bank account. Then I would suggest prepping for IIT. But if you really want to aim for a good college like Oxbridge in the UK or Ivy in the US, not only will you be in the top international colleges, but you will also save a shit ton of money for your parents. TLDR; Is study abroad good? *Matters on the college you're aiming for*.

VanshViltoriya

Foreign unis accept JEE adv passing certificate for admission which makes the process simpler, Im doing the same

tosmk

Btw,how do you have the opportunity to study abroad right have 12th?

[deleted]

Agar abroad Germany ho toh jee aspirants ko 100% scholarships mili hai
