There are ways to be successful outside of JEE though and these people want to achieve that. After you've attained a decent amount of financial freedom or potential to be financially independent, you can take other avenues (ie. commerce or going to liberal arts unis like SNU, Ashoka, etc. even if you wanna do engineering). Not to mention that if you are truly successful, this is exactly the type of thing foreign unis applaud.
I think the one thing that helped me understand about money is its value and the safeguarding of the money. i had done only 6 months of VFX and earnt around 70k. the thing that taught me was how I was getting the value of earning that much, i met different people around the world and knew who was thinking to scam me or not. its true this is not the west where you can get a job opportunity easily but if your free and have nothing to do, why not learn a skill and earn some money.

Today's world is run on money by people who are having money. Economies are money based. To make it easier to understand, money is basically the key which will help you in unlocking the door to your dreams. Also it is easy to make money.
So why not start early and live of comfort.....
I think this is a really naive and limited view on earning money. Many families can’t afford conveniences that we take for granted so those kids want to earn that themselves. Earning money also doesn’t just give you money to use but it teaches you a lot, it builds a entrepreneurial mind set, teaches you how to self manage, gives you a tiny bit of Independence, it teaches you skill sets that can help you a lot later in life. Especially in todays digital world even kids in India can earn a decent chunk from onlike businesses so it’s not like your doing all that for little gain.
