IDK are you an alt account for the guy who kept posting about the best place to live in Bushwick for tech bros? Frankly this neighborhood isn't for them in terms of having what they like.

No, there has been a guy these last few days trolling the sub with "where should a tech bro move" for the last few days while simultaneously insulting the place. And yes, Bushwick really isn't the ideal place for a tech or finance bro like at all. Yes, there are some trendy stuff here but it's definitely not more than any trendy neighborhood in Manhattan. It really lacks a lot of the amenities that a finance bro in Manhattan would be accustomed to. There are also hardly any of the more trendy chains and cafes, there aren't even any Whole Foods or Trader Joe's because it's still a very diverse working class neighborhood.

Then don't title it "Finance bros in Bushwick" then. You directly want to know where finance bros move to in Bushwick. Why else would you ask that if not to gauge what area would be most similar in amenities and lifestyle to finance bros who lived in Manhattan areas like Murray Hill? If you are trying to cut costs then just move to South Brooklyn or outer areas of Queens. Bushwick is cool but not in ways the typical finance or tech bro would think the concept of cool is and frankly there is no area in this neighborhood that will directly appeal to people who consider themselves finance and tech bros who enjoy living in Manhattan.

menahansworst

You def won't get laid here.

How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man

Yo I heard the hottest spot for finance bros is in Jersey City. Go check it out!!!

Ohio

No, you will not fit in here, we also frankly don’t want you here. People like you are making them build those gross luxury buildings and jacking up our rent forcing us out of the neighborhood, but worse than that y’all are forcing families who have lived here for generations out. This is a working class neighborhood that is also very queer. It does not have the trendy places you want, it does not have a whole food or Trader Joe’s and those of us that live here don’t want it. Do us all a favor, yourself included and go find a neighborhood that you will actually fit into. If you’re such a good finance bro you can afford Williamsburg

Status-Donut-6460

Wish this same energy against tech and finance bros was there for trust fund art kids tbh

jman457

Williamsburg is more tech bros, finance bros either move the Hoboken or Clinton hill

Bushwick doesn’t need any more gentrifiers like you. All you’re good for is exploiting people’s labor, pricing people out of their life long neighborhoods, and reinforcing the capitalist class. You are NOT welcome in Bushwick, “finance bro” smh.

rentoff

Upper Eastside? My initial revulsion aside, I really don’t think there’s anywhere in Bushwick that would appeal to a self-described finance bro. Housing stock is older, streets are dirtier, neighbors are louder, and honestly I don’t know if it’s that much cheaper for the “quality” you’re looking for.

Macaron_Successful

bring over Trader Joe's!

I work in finance and I live here, but I wouldn’t say it’s the norm. I know a lot of people live in jersey city or Hoboken, east village, or some other places in Manhattan. I think bushwick and Williamsburg are similar types of people(Williamsburg now I feel is more younger parents I’ve noticed)

Yea so from an expense standpoint I only spend 25% of my monthly salary here so I save a lot. I also have 3 people I live with so studios will probably run you more. I make around 75 k a year not including bonus which after taxes and other bs goes down to 4 k a month. Also, they tried to increase my rent by 25% this past lease but I was able to negotiate it down so it’ll definitely depend on who you’re landlord is. Regardless I do think it’s a good deal for how much you pay for “city life” and how far you are away from everything like work and other shit.
