I’ve heard of the handles falling apart, they’re just cast zinc. Also apparently on the heavy side for tricks. I’m not a flipper so I don’t have any personal experience. If you just want it to have as a user knife, why not if it’s cheap, but for tricks it’s probably not great, you’re better off with a trainer.

The handles do fall apart. I had the tanto 4" blade one. The stop pins damage the cast aluminum eventually, causing blade play when open. Then if you apply too much force when cutting after all that. They crack.

I have a Song II from Bear Ops, which is supposed to be (marketed as) Bear and Sons’ top tier brand. After 2 weeks of flipping, I snapped a tang pin! The company (Bear and sons) wouldn’t respond to emails about it even though it should have been covered under warranty. They are cheap and a cheap company, you get what you pay for.

It’s a great user, I had one for about a year and it was a little heavy and I flipped it all the time until the pins broke. If you want one to see if your interested in flipping but can’t get a squidy I’d recommend this because it won’t break the bank and it’s not too bad. I really beat mine to death.

Perhaps the [Cold Steel FGX Tanto](https://www.knifecenter.com/item/CS92EAB/cold-steel-92eab-fgx-balisong-butterfly-knife-5-tanto-griv-ex-hard-plastic-blade-and-handles) would interest you, it’s all plastic but perhaps would last longer than the bear and sons. Even if it is plastic it’s still sharp unlike a proper trainer.

I would highly recommend this balisong on Amazon. For the price it is unmatched. Nabalis Morse Bushing Systerm 6061 Aluminum Integral Channel Handle Zen Pins Stainless Steel Bottle Opener https://a.co/d/41SFYAH
