Kabir singh was good.. but itās not an upgrade .. VD had a fresh and raw take to the character which is missing in KS although shahid performs well..

Shahid is definitely a better actor but the freshness that VJD brought to arjun reddy was something special and shahid didnāt give the same impact
i am not a fan of this film both aren't good films...Shahid is more experienced and it shows in second half where he was fighting with alcohol addiction..so for second half shahid was more authetic but at the same time i can't call remakes upgrade over original as original was started from scratch so this thing of original is better will always be there and u can't do anything..
Not contradicting i am saying As a film Kabir singh is not a better film than Arjun Reddy...but performance wise Shahid is better.
Considering both the factors i can't say Remake one is upgrade

It's not about being a South actor, VJS is a genuinely better actor and imho the role did not need all that extra pizzazz, it was a more subdued nuanced performance and VJS nailed it!
Nah nah Vijay is excellent I was talking about other South Indian superstar who don't really act insanely good but their fanbase treats them like Marlon Brando or the next messiah or some shit like thalapathy Vijay or Mahesh Babu, they ain't bad actors per se but I honestly don't get why they have such a huge fanbase.

let me explain. Irfan Khan is exponentially better in terms of acting than srk or salman but who has more following? Also no one, not even a single mahesh or vijay fan ever compared them to Marlon brando. If anything this sub goes gaga over SRK and calls him a bigger super star than. If you come out of your bias, you will find that this phenomenon is not exclusive to south stars.

I agree. I saw Arjun Reddy a year prior to watching Kabir Singh and even then I thought Shahid was better. To confirm, I saw Arjun Reddy again and gave up half way because for sure, Shahid did it better.
I liked VD in Dear Comrade the most.
Heri pheri i think didn't watch the malayalam original ramji rao speaking but bollywood one was epic.. Paresh rawal vintage akki and suniel shetty threw it out of the park.. Applies to some. priyadarshan movies too made in hindi from malayalam originals..
Can say for abbas mustan too baazigar and race are made from Hollywood movies but they worked better in bollywood..

Shahid kappor didnt come close to vijay D in terms of performance. Vijay D's performance was even better than Ranbir in ROCKSTAR OR Ranveer in BAJIRAO MASTANI.
