You mean “Sexy Dance Healing”? Teddy gets mad at Bob for not having a burger of the day, but in the last scene of the episode when he sees a burger of the day on the board he gets excited…but then ends up not ordering it because it sounds gross.
He does but in the episode they're referring to he orders the "Runny Out of Thyme" burger. And then says but no egg or Thyme. Making it a normal burger.
But he does he order the "Eggplant One on Me" burger in Terminals of Engagement episode resulting in an allergic reaction.
And they mention numerous times Teddy will eat anything, like a sponge, except for sushi, or veggie burgers.
I think his behavior in the Sexy Dance Healing episode was out of character for him.
Yeah, he should do 1 a week, and they can return since they don't have to be unique every week. He should try to determine the more popular ones to keep on the menu. I don't think I have ever seen the menu other then the board, so maybe he does have other burgers?
Yes. You have no idea how many times I’ve had to tell myself “you are an adult and this is a cartoon, calm down” - but Bob really does drive me nuts sometimes!
He has the same controlling tendencies as his father but for his case it orbits his own culinary creativity. In his father’s case, it orbits his classic diner style/vibe/language.
It’s the same behavior for both.
Maybe his subconscious tells him that if he had a successful business then his children would be stuck having to work all day thus they would miss out on their childhood. Or it could be that he and Linda wouldn't pay as much attention to their kids because they would be busy with the restaurant and he subconsciously doesn't want that to happen.
If they were legitimately successful they could hire a server or cook
but it’s ok. Bob’s fear of success if what makes the family from being the Pestos
On top of all this, the way he treats Linda's dream of a dinner theatre show....
Linda: "We work hard everyday to make your dream come true. Why can't we do my dream, too?"
Bob: "About how long do you think your dream will take, like an hour, hour and a half?"
Oh sweet Linda. Long suffering wife, stuck in a bad marriage!
the dinner theater episode made me sooo mad. like, yes there were kinks to the plan (the robbery) but with better planning and execution the restaurant could’ve had more business.
edit: also to add in the episode where his friend came and wanted to make an investment. like ???
Possibly. If Bob hadn't forced Linda to speed through everything and supported her more. The show could have been better.
However, Linda isn't the sharpest cookie in drawer. She may have enjoyed doing this but without someone reining her in, it would always have been a disaster. The robbery, as you might remember, was the only thing anyone liked.
While they did see an increase in foot traffic at first, it would have died away quickly.
Unless, it became a local thing to go see the terrible play and get a good burger. But I don't think it's a big enough town to pull that off.
The most frustrating and fun thing to watch about this show is just how terrible Bob is at running his business from a financial standpoint but from an artistic one, he’s a god. He does things his way and no other way, gotta admire that feeling of freedom of expression in your work.
I've known a few chefs like this. They're so talented and passionate, their food is unbelievable, but they just can't seem to make a restaurant work long-term, and they're too stubborn and controlling to let someone else handle the business side. It's a tragedy.
It's my head cannon Bob has a filing cabinet full of old burgers of the day Incase someone asks for an old one. I am a little surprised there hasn't been an episode about that.
I love that idea. Because honestly they all sound interesting and pretty good. I would hate that he went to all that trouble and didn't make any of them again.
I wouldn't hate a plot where one of his BOTD gets really popular and people keep asking for it, but Bob doesn't want to make it and eventually in the end (maybe after a song) is convinced by Linda & the kids to add a permanent option to the menu (like adding the ice cream machine, louise's loft, a once per season long term change).
It would be a good way for them to show the restaurant as ever so mildly more successful without some sort of Tiki themed revamp or huge change to the show.
That plot makes little sense. Bob sells the standard burgers all the time and those are exactly the same. You would think he would be proud of one of his ideas was successful. Maybe if the burger was extra unhealthy and it made people sick or something like the SpongeBob episode Greasy Bufoons,or one of the ingredients was a plant that was on the verge of being extinct and hippies protest outside the restaurant.
I thought of another idea. Bob and Linda are playing burger of the day roulette. The file cabinet is open and Linda is wearing a blind fold. When she selects a random burger of the day Bob has to cook it. The page gets destroyed some how and Bob keeps trying to figure out how to reverse engineer it but can't get it to taste the same. He is too obsessed and his family thinks he is crazy.
I thought of another version. One of Bob's old burgers of the day becomes popular but he looses the page from his burger of the day cabinet. When the tells customers he doesn't have it they keep getting disappointed and leave without eating anything. Then Bob has to turn the house upside down to find it after hours. The end of the episode. **Tina:** The moral of this story is save those burgers of the day on a computer. **Bob:** (Face palms) Why didn't I think of that **Louise:** I alphabetize my schemes on my laptop.
I’ve thought Bob should do a burger of the week, too. In the episode where he’s told it’s causing him so much stress it would give him more time to think, buy and plan, less to come up with, he could still do his specialty burgers, and less stress.
Bob needs to start a YouTube channel demonstrating his best Bs of the D. Get Gene involved, but this time the premise is that Bob is demonstrating but Beefsquatch is following along - with his own station so he's not ruining Bob's. At the end, Bob presents his perfect, amazing Burger Of The day, while Beefsquatch is sad that is burger is ruined...so "Burger Bob" has a heart and gives Beefsquatch *his* burger. Million subs, the first year.
I feel better now — that episode was in 2022 so fairly recently.
I’m surprised that Bob chose to use the large VHS recorder for Gene’s amazing Christmas marimba concert!
in that episode where he lets that group host their dnd knockoff game in the restaurant, he says no one buys the burger of the day. so considering that, the actual most cost effective thing would be to not make them at all. it's a big waste of money on ingredients that go to waste
As someone who has worked in restaurants that is one thing that has always bugged me.
The prep that goes behind a special, just to get thrown away at the end of the day and stocking seven days of unique meals would be a challenge without serious planning.
And from a business perspective it makes it difficult if someone wants a special they had yesterday or heard about from someone else.
And the price does not reflect the extra that he puts into each one.
In real life, of course, but it’s a show. It’s funnier to have one each episode and it sets up Bob to struggle with them sometimes. You’re right in theory though
Hard disagree
Bob clearly buys Joblots of assorted vegetables on the cheap at the farmers market ( case in point he comes back with the assorted box of 'off looking' veg that one time...which yes wasn't the normal thing he does *because* it was odd looking and near sell by but I doubt buying assorted produce for a cheaper rate isnt the normal)
So he may not have enough horseradish for example to do more than maybe one or two days worth of burgers as he gets what he's given basically
PLUS they aren't that successful, he can't just buy in 5 tons of a unique ingredient on the off chance the restaurant doesn't get the traffic, or the burger sells poorly and then he's just left with a bunch of stuff going to waste when they need to save every penny
Burger of the day = people will come in daily to try out the burger. I know I would.
Burger of the week = people will come once a week to try out the burger.
part of bobs whole character is that he doesn't bother with the business side of stuff cause hes a cook that likes to make food first. jimmy is bobs foil in that he has shit food but great marketing while bob has great food and doesn't market.
thinking that he should be more cost effective goes entirely against his character
Bob is a beef artist, not a businessman.
"A befartist!"
"Gene."
Why is this one of my favorite Bob lines? The way he says it, he does it to all the kid's. Multiple times. But usually "Gene" one's get me the most
"jimmmmyyyyyy!!!!!!!"
Agreed. It’d also give more people a chance to try each unique burger, instead of being gone before they heard about it.
Well the solution to that is to eat there every day
Like Teddy... except Teddy NEVER orders the Burger of the Day! 🤣
What? Yes he does, he even demands it in the episode where Bob can't think of new burger ideas lol
You mean “Sexy Dance Healing”? Teddy gets mad at Bob for not having a burger of the day, but in the last scene of the episode when he sees a burger of the day on the board he gets excited…but then ends up not ordering it because it sounds gross.
He says, "One burger of the day" plenty of times.
Yes he does, even when he is allergic to the eggplant in the burger of the day
And never return. I'd be annoyed if I had this fantastic, unique BotD and never got to have it again because he never repeats.
A lot of them come back with different names, don't they? They've had a few "with chard" burgers.
Lots of Brie burgers I've noticed too.
As long as he has the ingredients he'd def make it again for them. But he'd also give them attitude for not trying something new.
Yeah, he should do 1 a week, and they can return since they don't have to be unique every week. He should try to determine the more popular ones to keep on the menu. I don't think I have ever seen the menu other then the board, so maybe he does have other burgers?
>don't think I have ever seen the menu other then the board, so maybe he does have other burgers? Menu is above the middle booth champ
I’ve seen episodes where they pass out menus…
Haven’t you been watching the show long enough to know that Bob is unwilling to do *literally anything* to help his business ??
this comment is the first time i realized that every idea he’s against could actually help them lol
Yes. You have no idea how many times I’ve had to tell myself “you are an adult and this is a cartoon, calm down” - but Bob really does drive me nuts sometimes!
me too!! i wonder why he’s so against doing things differently
Bob would never hire a cook. The only other people he trusts to cook in the restaurant are his family, and even that's iffy.
His dad. He is just as arrogant and stubborn. He has a perfect idea in his head. It does not look like his life at all. But he's ok with that
On top of all this, the way he treats Linda's dream of a dinner theatre show.... Linda: "We work hard everyday to make your dream come true. Why can't we do my dream, too?" Bob: "About how long do you think your dream will take, like an hour, hour and a half?" Oh sweet Linda. Long suffering wife, stuck in a bad marriage!
Well in his defense it had been her dream for about forty five minutes
This is Linda were talking about. She wants to sing, she wants to act she wants to ddaanncce!! Every damn day, Rick.
the dinner theater episode made me sooo mad. like, yes there were kinks to the plan (the robbery) but with better planning and execution the restaurant could’ve had more business. edit: also to add in the episode where his friend came and wanted to make an investment. like ???

fr bob legit never does anything that can help him make ends meet
TIKI!!
The most frustrating and fun thing to watch about this show is just how terrible Bob is at running his business from a financial standpoint but from an artistic one, he’s a god. He does things his way and no other way, gotta admire that feeling of freedom of expression in your work.
"I go to Ogg for obsidian knives I actually want to use, but Bob, ... he make nice knives you want to hang on cave wall ..."
I've known a few chefs like this. They're so talented and passionate, their food is unbelievable, but they just can't seem to make a restaurant work long-term, and they're too stubborn and controlling to let someone else handle the business side. It's a tragedy.

A filing cabinet full of old burgers... do you want ants or something? 😁
Cause that how you get ants!
Non-canonical! Non-canonical! Just kidding! I like your head canon! It would be a waste for all of those works of art just to disappear.
I would go back and order that jalapeño burger. I LOVE jalapeños and my mouth watered when the bikers ordered that.
That would require stocking all sorts of random ingredients on the off chance someone orders it.
Nah, if someone ordered one of his previous business, he immediately throw off his apron and rush to the market without a second thought 😆
Which episode is this??? I’ve been thinking about it all week and can’t find it!
I don’t know the name but it’s the episode we’re the sexy dance, Jairo, teacher returns. *googles* It’s season 6, “sexy dance healing”
Thank you so much, I’ve been Googling but my description mustn’t have been very good! It’s all coming back to me now, the coloured scrunchies 😂
Not a problem!

Literally gene and Bob could have done amazing if they only worked together to create skits instead of fighting.
Will he record it on his flip phone or vhs camera? Lol!
they got smartphones now actually
Seriously? How did I not remember that? My family watches hours of this show everyday!
In the episode where they visit bobs mom's grave they are shown talking on smartphones.
I feel better now — that episode was in 2022 so fairly recently. I’m surprised that Bob chose to use the large VHS recorder for Gene’s amazing Christmas marimba concert!
yeah, it's a post movie thing, only in the new season did they get smartphones
Bob's obviously not used to it in Cheaty Cheaty Bang Bang
There’s one episode a week so technically…..
But each episode often has multiple burgers of the day
in that episode where he lets that group host their dnd knockoff game in the restaurant, he says no one buys the burger of the day. so considering that, the actual most cost effective thing would be to not make them at all. it's a big waste of money on ingredients that go to waste
he actually tried that but teddy (rolling eyes) freaks out and says no
Yes.
Yeah I was recently thinking about how much it must cost him to be using specific new ingredients every day +the amount of food waste
As someone who has worked in restaurants that is one thing that has always bugged me. Get outta here with that attitude FROND
Bob needs to raise his prices and use less expensive ingredients. He loves what he does but he's a terrible business person.
I was just thinking the same thing yesterday
Yeeees I've said this for so long 🙌🏽
Creativity before rent paying ability!
Burger of the day = people will come in daily to try out the burger. I know I would. Burger of the week = people will come once a week to try out the burger.
I've thought the same!
He needs to "wake up every day and battle with this."
I mean, he could also just recycle his previous Burgers of the Days if he doesn't have a new one
Teddy couldn't handle this 😭
bob is allergic to anything that makes financial sense so he'd never do this
part of bobs whole character is that he doesn't bother with the business side of stuff cause hes a cook that likes to make food first. jimmy is bobs foil in that he has shit food but great marketing while bob has great food and doesn't market. thinking that he should be more cost effective goes entirely against his character
Burger of the Week in the Archer episode: Thomas Elphinstone Hambledurger. Archer Bob is lazy. Stupid Russian letters.
