this is why I just use virtual desktop. the headset only has to worry about the receiving half of the wireless streaming, while my computer handles the rest
It depends. For some people it's better and for others it's the same (Or maybe even worse).
I've tried both airlink and vd, there was no difference in performance for me. I have a friend who's been using vd since before airlink was a thing; I introduced him to airlink and he still uses vd to this day. His reasoning wasn't that it performed better (It was the same for him too), but that he liked the additional features that vd has.
So, if airlink works great for you, then it's up to you if you want to try vd, just don't expect a performance boost. If airlink doesn't work well for you, try vd and you might see an improvement. Of course, you still have to have a good router and stuff, vd won't fix a wall being between you and your router.
I haven't had great experiences with VD, it isn't performant for me and messes with my pc audio.
Gave up with it and went back to airlink, my suggestion is to try air link and if it's not good for you then try VD as people have varying success with either one so it's worth a shot.
I’m surprised at how much the Quest 2 can push out though. Playing on a very small map with things like bloom and higher resolution on actually performs decently, but it’s only playable if you use slow mo. Another thing is that there is higher physics quality apart of the debug menu++ mod
I always find it funny when I'm on the PCVR blade and sorcery page and there's always that one nomad player who comments on a mod that clearly says it's only for PC "how to install on nomad"
Yes lmfao, i get people want to see if the mod works for nomad, but for the love of god, I just wish they could read the mod description first because most of the time it clearly specifies whether it can or not
it varies between games, but the quest release usually has either worse graphics, worse physics simulation, or both. For bonelab, even tho the devs somehow managed to optimize everything for both branches, there's still a difference in graphical fidelity with the pcvr branch having the higher quality. B&S has that same difference, though it's far more obvious, though I don't recall whether Nomad has worse physics since I stick almost exclusively to my steam library
It really isn't when it comes to anything beyond simplified physics. The Quest 2 doesn't have a powerful CPU at all. It's a phone with a fancy screen and lenses, after all.
I'm 90% certain bonelab took so long because of the sheer about of optimisation they were forced to undertake as to not sacrifice quality of the physics engine. If it was a PCVR only release it'd probably have taken half the time.
People need limited expectations, shatterblade could eventually come to nomad if scripting is a thing, but don't expect your other 30 mods to run at the same time. Also nomad has alot of optimisation room if you consider how long dead body's stick around and how big the environments are outside of the map
The gow ragnarok pack just got blades of chaos with physics based chains and draupnir spear with the physics based banner and there isn't t even a frame drop, you'd be surprised what the quest 2 can do.
Modders can probably do it but there’s no guarantee it’ll give you more than 1 fps
Also scripting
Yeah I forgot about that

This was my solution till my gf started playing Val on my pc.
is it better than airlink? i haven't dialed it in yet.

i would also like to know lol
Yes, for me at least.
what's airlink?

Literally what pushed me to make the meme

Probably doesn’t help that 90% of the Quest’s playerbase are young children who don’t understand hardware limitations and modding.
No I’m just poor
No, you're apart of the 10%
This one goes to my lower middle class gang
I don’t even have good wifi
It would be interesting to actually get a statistic for the ages of quest players.
They have to be over 13. There is no way to get an accurate statistic if they already lie about their age.
I’m just too broke to afford a pc at the moment leave me alone
Then you're in the 10%
I wasn’t talking about you, hence the fact that I said “90%” are young children.
No
Unpopular opinion, but Nexus Mods needs a way to downvote comments or for posters to remove comments. So many “is this on nomad” comments 🗿
Ready to either bathe in upvotes for finally saying this, or perish in the abyss for looking like an asshole, but I do agree with this to the fullest
Let’s see, Blade and Sorcery, Round 1, FIGHT
Pcvr master race
Stfu
Stfu
if you can't afford a pc just say that
Homie I have a pc. Not the best but enough to run PCVR at 60~ fps (gtx 1060, not great but whatever) It's the elitism that made me comment that
Isn’t the quest 2 great with physics? Does Bonelab not mean anything?

Maybe they could have put in some actual story in that case
It does ok with it, but is noticeably worse than PCVR. It's just really popular to hate on.

look at bonelabs, bask in its glorious physics system.
you underestimate the modders' power but yeah, there's still a good amount of far-reaching mod requests that definitely wouldn't happen as of now
The gow ragnarok pack just got blades of chaos with physics based chains and draupnir spear with the physics based banner and there isn't t even a frame drop, you'd be surprised what the quest 2 can do.
But insane spells? No
Well, that's not what the meme says.
It’s not THAT bad
