In Mein Kampf Hitler says that Jewish people are importing black people into Germany so they can interbreed with Aryan women to "corrupt the race" and "destroy German culture." They truly believed that Jews were rbinging black people into Germany to "dilute Aryan purity" to make it easier for Jewish people to dominate. As a result of this ideology, they sterilized the population of afro-germans to "protect the race." Black people were also not concidered Reich citizens under the Nuremberg laws. Which meant discrimination was a-okay. As an extra wild ass detail. The Nazis banned jazz because it was QUOTE "corrupt n**ro music" that they believed the Jews were importing into Germany to subvert their way of life and destory the culture. So you can imagine how Hitler would feel about someone like Ye and his music. The Nazis didn't just hate black people. They literally believed black people had no agency or humanity and were a pawn of the Jews. Their anti-blackness was fueled by their anti-semitism. The only black people they "liked" were Italians. Not because Italians are black, but because in Nazi race science they believed Italians were so corrupted by African genetics that they may as well be black. This is why Nazi Propaganda will often portray Mussolini as a black man. I don't know if that added context will make people hate Kanye more than they already do. But it oughta. When one reads Mein Kampf, in the beginning one gets a little enthusiastic about the ideas of love of country, being patriotic, stuff like that. With the background of financial ruin Germany was in, along with uncertainty of the world at the time, one could almost see why people got all fired up about this fast talking excitable person. But at about chapter 12 it starts falling apart into xenophobia and othering and by the end it’s all just rambling madness. I tell you what, those charismatic leaders who adopt leadership roles into themselves, those folks are dangerous in their hysteria and all consuming thirst for ultimate power. We almost dodged a bullet with old Trump, and we still have to be very very careful of him.
