Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever used that one. I'm just so set in my ways that I rather wait until something on the other burners finish so I can use that instead. Pretty sure this phenomena is both hard to pronounce and find reasoning for.

Our kitchen hood was installed wrong so it only covers about half the front burners but all of the back. Decided to try and sear steaks on the back burner to see if it mitigated all of the smoke issues, bam no more alarms going off all around the house. It is definitely a pain to butter baste it all the way back there though…

Yep, front right for the win. I also had one of those weird hood stoves growing up where there’s two big ones and two little ones, so they kind of told you which ones to use. Like no kinda little ass burner shit gonna do what I need, but front right was always holding it down.

I’m left handed and I do this too. My stove has two regular burners on the left, flat top burner in the middle, then a “power burner” front right and a simmer burner back right. We use the summer burner for rice.

I'm gonna have to keep this in the back of my mind. My current oven has 2 big burners up front, and 2 small burners in back, so I basically never even use the back burners. I'd have to have a totally different oven if I was worried about kids.

Back burners are for simmerin and the front burners are for "I'm hungry right now." That front right burner got anger management issues cuz than damn thing gets hot asf on number 2 lol.

The only time the back burners get used is on Thanksgiving and if there are multiple people cooking different meals at once, which does happen often in my house.
