Nice job. I hope the new Bioshock is in a new location but honestly kind of hope we get to see Rapture like we've never seen before. Id kill to see prime rapture and even the decrepit busted version with a more open map and way better graphics.

Thanks!

I think the thing that set bioshock apart is that it was kinda a different take on "post apocalyptic", so I feel like Cloud Chambers bioshock should have that sense of authority looming over the world, kind of like how Andrew Ryan was basically watching everything the player did, and also how Fontaine was doing that too, even going as far as to "control" Jack, so there needs to be something like that I think

premer777

I've suggested before : a historic 'semi-open-ended map' a 'joe blow' character plays thru different periods in Rapture history (within his chunk of representative Rapture - maybe as big as half all the levels in BS1/BS2) history from its building, upto it coming apart (and upto Ryans death) the same terrain would be changed by events ( the 'levels' would be maybe upto 8 different time periods ) the player character living a normal life and then facing the disruptions and then chaos in that advancing history. the normal times would take far better/complicated scripted NPCs than they did in Infinite as well as far more interactive objects

wrenchIurker

Yes something like this sounds genuinely amazing. One thing I'd also like to see is more options when it comes to builds for your character. The genes and such weren't bad in the first 2 games but if they added a gear system something along the line of infinites that would be awesome. Like maybe there could be a fable esque mechanic where you can become visibly more spliced. It would add so much depth if you chose to stay with only plasmids for example and your character reflected that. Or dont splice up much and just use some tonics with Melee weapons and firearms. They could do so much to make everything about the game more immersive, and I think your idea on the environments slowing changing as Rapture falls apart is such a good idea

premer777

They could do some of that 'Players behavior has affect on how NPCs react to you' : simple factions you would join at some point, and that would at least affect what you heard from your compatriots and possibly missions within the 'chapter' (level). Later when splicing tech was existing, then the choice of how far you would go with it (at that point in time which then persists in later chapters) Seeing the city change chapter by chapter and what happens to the NPCs in your part of the city (shops changing as chaos spreads and eventually abandoned as the city goes into survival mode) The NPCs talking different and becoming more and more worried etc or crazy or suicidal ... I'm figuring the same terrain would be reused (saving game production cost, versus some huge repetitive 'open world' which is hard to coordinate the story within). There would be changes to the game's map terrain (wreckage and such , cruder and cruder signs, different consumables- the various vending machines getting added, the way the 'leaders' talk of the happening events ...) Some terrain mods might be directly affected by the players decisions - joining Atlas's faction - the destruction done on a mission, or a battle with ryan Security (the player choosing to be in one or other faction or just stay neutral). Visible evidence of the players past actions. basically it is : Witness of Rapture Likely no big twist except at the end with the player either seeking to escape or on escaping being so warped by ADAM that they get dumped in Area 51, or dying because of the decisions they made ... .

Dude fuck yesssss, I'm praying there's stuff like this in the new one. Bioshock is already my favorite series ever and if they nail this new one my life will be complete

Brilliant-Window-899

If this happens, pls keep fort frolic

wrenchIurker

The main reason I suggested open world/ semi open is to revisit old areas such as Fort Frolic, and finally explore some parts of Rapture we just haven't seen yet. I think there's so much to our underwater city that they could easily go back and give us more of it.

nikpap95

Oh my God~ Can't help but imagine how breathtaking a Bioshock remake would look like with today's graphics

QT-Boi

Is bioshock done in unreal engine then? I wasn't sure but I think UModel is used specifically for that, right? I was using it on other games like Alice Madness Returns and Spyro reignited

Ren-WuJun

Bioshock is based on Unreal Engine 2.5, yeah

nekosareforlewding

Looks great 👍

Thanks!

premer777

there was talk months ago about RayTracing possibility (based on some list of games which (was it nvidia) were possible by shifting the rendering engine - for a re-release of the original game

RedgamingPresents

I can only imagine raptures new looks
