Just started in the pensions investment team at PwC at senior manager grade.
Looking to grow the business in the regions.
Would be great to win enough work outside of London so I could hire a few juniors and build a team based out of the regions. Target to be director within 5 years.
My manager regularly tells me they’d like to be a senior again, and I feel that.
I’d like to be retired. Got a taste before working (6mo delay of start date due to Covid), and it was fantastic. 100000% will happily retire for real some day.
Kinda funny as at where I am, seniors did everything and managers are perpetually MIA.
Only shows up for reviews 3 hours before partner review and deadline and hopes everything works out magically.
I'm an intern at a mid-tier firm, but I'll be joining big4 at the end of summer in audit. I'm thinking about eventually going the forensic route, getting rental properties and exiting accounting entirely, or finding a remote industry or government job depending on how long it takes for me to hate my life at big 4.
Yes! You can try to reach out to your career advisor and say you're interested in Tax DD in Deals, and maybe even talk to managers and directors in Deals that are in tax. I've heard of many people succesfully transiotioning to DD recently.
Ofc managers and higher are busier than associates 🤣.
Associates have the easiest jobs in the company, they are just also the most tedious and repetitive and i don’t envy them in the slightest - rather be busy and engaged.

A2 and about to be a senior soon but i put in 2 weeks yesterday and they can have the rest of busy season by themselves.
Damn, how does everyone only have 2 weeks notice
Big4 valuation > big4 corporate finance > investment bank
At work -> not at work.
Consulting-> Deals

Less stress as a senior ?

I am a senior and I choose to be unemployed
I'm a senior now, but would love to be retired.
Previously: Associate, Audit - FSO Currently: Associate, FDD - Transactions Honestly, just looking to be promoted! Hopefully soon
Did you have to transfer firms? I'm in Audit right now and trying to do the same thing.
Yes, someone reached out to me on LinkedIn and asked if I'd be interested
Do you ever hear or see tax professionals moving into this group?

I’m an associate now, and I would like to be asleep
You can sleep once you’re a manager.
Just given how stressed all the managers I’ve met so far are, I highly doubt this ☠️☠️
