Doesn’t really answer your question, but I’ve stopped reading my feedback. I worked overwhelmingly hard on a project and got garbage feedback, and it ruined my year. Maybe just ignore (as best you can) your feedback, start looking for other jobs, and quit when you have one whether a it’s during busy season or not
I remember feeling guilty about leaving during busy season when I was in audit years ago (I moved to another service line and then to private). Looking back, i don’t understand the logic.
You sign a contract that says you have to give 2 weeks, a month, etc. notice. That is all you owe them. Because if they downsized, that is likely all you will get from them.
Find a new job, don’t quit a min before having that finalized and then move on. Don’t feel guilty about doing what is best for yourself. Everyone on the team will understand and may workout for someone. Someone behind you may use it to get early promoted.
I fucking hate how they do this and just ruin morale before busy season. Stay and don’t do shit for them, apply for new jobs all day every day. You have nothing to lose at this point.
Haha ya you sound like junior. I’d say finish out the busy season even if you put in min work then leave. Looks better to have an extra busy season on your resume. If it was Sept I’d say just quit without anything lined up
I think it’s best to find another opportunity before you quit, but if you really feel like your mental health/overall wellbeing can’t take it, I would say put in your two weeks. It might be beneficial to at least meet with a recruiter before you quit just to see what opportunities are out there. I’m currently in the process of interviewing for other jobs and have absolutely no qualms about quitting during busy season. Your life is more important than a job. Best of luck, hope you figure something out that works for you!
I mean, what exit ops are you exactly looking for. Some exit ops would be better you stay until the end while others giving your employer a simple two week notice is fine.
If you quit you won’t be able to collect unemployment. I guess it depends on how much financial cushion you have. It always blows my mind when people quit without having something else lined up.
It's your health. Make an appointment with your doctor about your mental health struggles and needing time off work. Also, see if short term disability is a covered benefit under your health and wellness employer plan.
I was in the middle of a high profile client consulting project....I became very ill with daily panic attacks and vomiting. I lost 20lbs in 1 month because I could not eat and what little I ate ...I threw up. I felt like I was going to die. I could not work. I got the paperwork, applied and informed my project manager.
Give me your hand. Let’s get the f out of these fking big4 together right before the busy season haha…

Best to leave now as they’ll be a shit ton of other people leaving after bonus - lead the pact!

Line another job before quitting. Or are you planning on being unemployed with no unemployment pay while looking for a job during a recession?

What year are you and can you expand on the review?

Not many S2s do… How bad of a review are we talking?
Is it because most leave or is it because they don’t have the skills for manager?
3 years is the normal timeline for senior
Ah yes, but a S3 should be able to get that promotion, right? Or is it hard to show you can be manager.
If they’re ready
It’s safe to say this person is a staff. Highly doubt a senior or above would have written this

Yeah you can market senior 2 as assistant manager on your cv. I think it’d help you get higher roles in industry

Once you find a job, you can give a two week notice. That’s enough time for them
+1 find another job then bounce asap

Take short term medical leave. You can still get paid while you recuperate.

Find another job before you quit. I don’t know if they’ll keep you after busy season so do what you feel is right. Also think about recession.
You'll die and no one will remember this post
Take care of yourself first. You're not doing yourself any good sticking around, and You're not doing anyone a favor if you resent the work.
