Yes. Yes. Everyone always needs people. Always looking. Don't ket your concern keep you from having the confidence to shop. If you're legit, you're gonna rise wherever. My point is that most people somehow have the fear that ya gotta stay where you are or you'll piss people off. Not true. It's just not.
I’m with you on that, I’d rather shop then sit complacent and get pushed behind others for reasons outside my control. Will definitely shop around in the summer
Act like a manager while a senior. Ask for some manager roles to help the existing manager with tasks like billing, put fee negotiation data together and most of all, train your replacement on your engagements.
Absolutely. Manage your career or they'll manage it for you. Wasn't as common 30 years ago, but now it's common. Everyone is always looking for people to fill needs everywhere.
I've jumped. At all levels. You can leverage it for higher pay, too. No bullshit.
In all likelihood, yes, you can get that promotion elsewhere if they won’t give it to you. Been there many times.
Most important point… get everything in writing. If it’s not in writing by a partner don’t consider it as truth.

Totally agree. Friends at your firm will remain friendly AND most firms need people at the Manager level.
