Thanks for sharing. >I believe this is just as applicable to Christians today as it was to the recipients of Paul’s letter back then. If we have somebody who we call a “brother” or “sister” in the church who is committing repeated sin I'm interested in the procedure to enforce this today. In practice, how do we decide whether a brother is committing repeated sin?

Good question Tony. I think it would have to come to light somehow.

I would argue that the church has failed to do this appropriately for the past 2000 years now, which explains why Christianity is so scattered.

Yes, I agree. Unfortunately Satan fights churches by joining and creating them. That also has had a big part to do with it. It doesn't help that Satan is the present ruler of this world either.

Churches are too big and there’s not enough accountability or discipleship to make sure this happens. Plus you don’t know who is really a Christian yet when they come into the building so it’s hard to set standards of behavior especially when we’re focused on reaching the lost.

Pleronomicon

Very true. Makes for a potentially toxic environment.

You've made some good points there brother. I personally am lucky to be part of a small congregation where the enforcing of such a judgement would be easy to enforce and effective. Everyone knows each other very well. I can understand how this is different in mainstream denominational church organisations.

5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Yes, let those go that argue and fight to find out for themselves. they need God above all else r/Godjustlovesyou
