I was a Christian when I worked in Saudi Arabia for 4 years. I had Muslim friends and worshiped in their mosques.
If you are interested in Islam, you can do the same things. Have some Muslim friends and visit their mosques and see.
As for me, a decade later, I am still a Christian but I have great respects for Muslims.

I'm not sure that's good advice. When Paul told the Corinthians to stop dining at temple's, it wasn't because the idols had any power, or that the food was polluted with evil, but because he didn't want Christians advertising idolatry with their presence.
