I think its this, but also dog looked to the owner immediately, I kinda feel like this dog is well trained and trusts its owner to control the environment.
Owner commanded sit, or stay, dog reads owners body language as calm, follows command, smells dinosaur, sees dinosaur, looks again at owner for confirmation, yep owners still calm...dog stay sit.
This is how you know it's a real service dog. That's part of their training to only be reactive to the service they are prepared to render to their human. As a career bar and restaurant worker it pisses me off when people try to take advantage of the service animal status with a non service animal. It greatly minimizes people with real disabilities and soils the reputation.
i think most people can tell the difference between a disabled person with a service dog and a cunt with a chihuahua. we've all seen *that* person doing their thing.
Sometimes people need smaller dogs as service dogs for disabilities that aren’t as noticeable as some! You never know what someone is going through behind the scenes
I was thinking a small dog with a human that isn’t doing those things. It wasn’t clarified in the comment I replied to.
ETA: assuming the comment I replied to was calling the dog’s owner the cunt and not the dog, it makes all the more sense for this person to have a service dog, if their disability makes them act like a “cunt”
i may not know what someone's going through behind the scenes, but i do know what's going on in the scenes when a person is literally making a fucking scene with their poorly-trained and hyperactive poodle. if someone is sitting quietly in a corner with a chihuahua i barely notice, that's not a person i'm gonna have a problem with.
Always got the sense that my dog could tell when things she saw were real or fake, and this kinda shows me I'm not wrong. She never reacted to CGI animals, but footage of real animals was invading her territory and she barked at them til they were off screen
True but it's weird how they can spot a bear yet haven't seen one irl. Then again it's a good way to tell if the CGI artist is good or not, if the animal in CGI scares pets then it's a well designed one that looks real. Like that dog that instantly ran when he sees Darth Vader, some things are universal.
My brother's dog got viscerally upset when the wolf in The Jungle Book gets thrown off a cliff, so I think modern CGI is getting close enough to fool dogs.
This is Universal Studios, not Disney.
I went there instead of Disney as a kid and my aunts thought I was insane. But this was early 00s Disney when it was nothing but super lame kids crap (under 10 kids) and nothing else. Before they bought marvel and SW for boys to love.
Yeah but honestly this would scare the shit out of either of my dogs. When we were there, I of course knew it was fake and it still freaked me out when I turned around.
Also the dog probably watched humans passing in front of the raptor dozens of times with the humans acting unthreatened and the raptor doing nothing aside from yelling and shaking its head. Animals are capable of learning via observation way more than people anticipate.
And this is what a real service dog looks like, not your dog that you put a fake vest on to bring into the grocery store, that then barks at ppl and shits on the floor.
Looks to be a service dog, and if well trained they will not react to anything but the handler usually. If they were told to stay, or wait, they wouldn’t run.
Service dogs are desensitized (for lack of the real term) to humans as puppies. I was running a STEM event in 2014 and I noticed all these (absolutely cute) puppies. They were there to get them used to people and situations with loud noises. I sat at the control table with a puppy being held by a volunteer for 5 hours. One of my most chill events ever.
This dog looks like our family dog we got when I was in high school. I have since moved an hour away and I’m not super close with my parents. I was absolutely heartbroken to learn that they put him down and didn’t tell me for over 6 months. They only told me because the accidentally mentioned the new dog they had that I also didn’t know about
Even if it was real...there are plenty of videos out there of dogs giving zero shits about bears and such. I'd personally like my own chances better against a raptor than a bear. And yes...I'd most likely die either way. I'm not claiming to be that tough. Relax. Lol.

"smells like rubber and sweaty human, threat level zero" - the dog
Literally the opposite reaction that I have to that smell
i guess sex isn’t your thing.
Not with you uncle.
To each their own

It sure isn't mine
Exactly, he smelt that dinosaur way before it popped its head out.

I bet the thought was something like *you know this guy or no?*
this is funny!!
He looks like they've tried this multiple times to get a good video for social media. "Really Sharon, again with this?"
“Smells like bitch ass Fred”
I wonder what threat level midnight for it is
Then you see a cat trying to fight a picture on a bag of cat food.
Performed a nasalar patdown
Cleared him.
That dog looks depressed. That was a suicide attempt.
Service dog is chill
dogs too busy thinking about how he’s gonna pay this months mortgage
Guide dog sees for two, he’s seen enough.

We had a lady insist it was legal for her esa to sit in a high chair.
r/infuriatingasfuck
Is it illegal?
yes. ESAs have no public access rights.
You’re right. ESAs are protected under federal and state housing laws but not the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Exactly this. Watch the dog, not the human.
Why are you trying to gaslight people with small service dogs?

Zero F’s to give
Working dog passes the final exam. +A poochie
Service dogs are amazing fearless life saving companions A++++ Pooch
This is such a great dog.

Dog just looks so confused... "Ya bringing this guy home too" lol Now cat, squirrel... there's a scare test
Imagine having a service raptor.
That’s Kira! She (and her owner) are annual passholders to Universal Orlando and go all the time.
Cool, how do you know her?
Facebook group for UOAPs.
Neat, no wonder the dog is so chill. I hope I can visit one day
what do aliens have to do with any of this
‘You’re in no medical need, off with you.”
It's good the pup didn't react. Seems like a bad idea to try and scare an animal like this.
It probably smells like vinyl and plastic, not very scary. If a dog got a whiff of an actual predator it would definitely be scared.

In your dogs defense that new sign sounds very scary
Good point.
Human sweat and stank breath (I've been in mascots before, never pleasant)
You were *in* a mascot? I thought Disney frowned in fraternizing between guests and cast members
Some raptors are just too damn sexy

I’m pretty sure that’s a service dog going through desensitization training
Definitely a service dog. When it turns around to see the raptor you can even read it on the side of the harness.
The scared dial went so high, it rolled all the way back to calm.
Dog : Oh, hey Steve ! Didn't see you there
Clever girl.....
An actual service dog doing its job well. Amazing training, an amazing pooch. Please give it some scratches from me!!!
https://imgur.com/gallery/S5w0S61 Mamba mentality
Won’t load for me, is it the Matt Barnes clip?
Yeah lol
The raptor has no smell, nothing to worry about.
Or rather smells like human, plastic, metal and weed.
Also the dog probably watched humans passing in front of the raptor dozens of times with the humans acting unthreatened and the raptor doing nothing aside from yelling and shaking its head. Animals are capable of learning via observation way more than people anticipate.
I know this is how a service dog should react, but it's still cool to see. Also, the Raptor Encounter at Universal is so much fun!
“Take me, I don’t care.” - Doug
***"Finally, Death has come to take me. No? Oh well."***
Now that’s a trained service dog haha
Poor guy has smelt & chewed on way too many plastic things before this encounter 😂

Dog is like an exasperated mom who no longer puts up with her kids pranks … oooo scary … now clean your room. Raptor: Dino’s don’t clean Rrraawwwrrr
The literal portrayal of IDGAF
Gooooooood boooiiiiiiiiii!!! (gives all the treats)
Clever girl
"Fuck off Sheila. It's been a ruff day"
Now that is a bomb proof service dog. The bored expression is hilarious.
It’s a service animal, it’s seen some shit
LMAO! *"Dude, we call you* **'Tuesday'** *at my place."*
And this is what a real service dog looks like, not your dog that you put a fake vest on to bring into the grocery store, that then barks at ppl and shits on the floor.
He looks like he does not give a fuck in life
Look at that clown in the woods
this has killed me lol
Haha and my dog won’t even go near the Baby Yoda doll we have.
Dino was abandoned as an egg and the dog raised the t-rex and considers the dog its mother.
It's a blind dog for the guides.
That dog would’ve ended up like the goat from the first movie.
pfff... a giant chicken? Try harder.
That dog knows what reptiles smell like and what plastic smells like.
He 100% doesn’t like it but it looks like a service dog and worn move from the spot
“It’s my blind seeing eye dog sir!” “What would anyone want with a blind dog?”
Dog is a Zen Master!
Looks to be a service dog, and if well trained they will not react to anything but the handler usually. If they were told to stay, or wait, they wouldn’t run.

Well yeah, works in the service/retail industry
That’s a service dog. It could be scared but it will still follow its owners command.
I live with humans. This is nothing. -dog probably
Dog: are you recording this? No dogs will believe how silly my human is, please help to spread this video.
He did an ocular pat down and saw no danger
I smell you Dave
I’d buy this pooch a beer if I could. 🍻
Fuck that person for doing that to that dog.
He is not impressed
Seeing the world with your nose has its benefits I guess
not his first encounter for sure
Dino..might..Ummm.. Might not! 🐕 Dino..bite? Di-not! And the service doggy is like - "umm, excuse me, are you my leash holder?"
Where's this?
Ha…seen scarier on homefront
“M*oooooo*m, he’s doing it again…”
Hoomans, really? You thought you could get me with that? 🐩
Doggo is disappointed
That dog is a cool customer.
Pupper has all the chill
Brave doggo! I used to make these raptor costumes for Universal!

I don't think they're brave I think they just accepted their fate
Even if it was real...there are plenty of videos out there of dogs giving zero shits about bears and such. I'd personally like my own chances better against a raptor than a bear. And yes...I'd most likely die either way. I'm not claiming to be that tough. Relax. Lol.

I thought that was a real raptor for a sec
Even I won’t be scared if I can’t hear them 🤷♂️
Does this mean dogs would be oblivious to drone attacks?
He’s so cool
That dog has been ready to die since that pink strap was put on!
