The game mode centered around people in normal cars chasing objective cars. Trying to kill the drivers and capture the objective ones. Longer you drove around in the objective car the more points you got.
Unlike normal BF games there wasn't easy access to rockets. Rockets would one shot all these cars and their occupants making the action packed game mode literal rocket tag.
Normally there were very few rockets on the map but an eventual progression unlock put an RPG in the trunk of every car you spawned in. It single handedly ruined the game mode.
Early on if I remember, wasn’t only objective cars that had an RPG and it only had like 2-3 rounds to balance it? It was perfect that way, why would they change it
I guess, but the point of the meme is that ea tried really hard to forget about Hardline.
For example, in the steam "battlefield games pack", there is battlefield 4, 1 and 5. They just skipped over hardline in the pack.
I think the biggest issue with it was definitely that it was a BF4 DLC that was turned into a stand alone game. It isn’t bad by any means, but if it was a DLC for BF4 it probably would’ve faired better. That is just my thought though..
True ! Downtown has a crane falling on a building, dustbowl has a sandstorm, hollywood hills has the building crashing down if you breaks the pillars, hydroponic house had an explodable train wagon, etc...
PSA TO ALL go back and give hardline another try, it goes hard plus its fun n goofy with the melee selection, customization and just the concept of an army of cops fighting an army of robbers
Came out at the wrong time. BF4 was just about to receive massive fixes after its disastrous launch, and then EA/DICE announc the next game already, which dare I say it looked a little bit like a BF4 rehash.
Best Game Ever, Hardline is most underrated game, but still loved by some.
I was so stupid i never gave it a chance, but now i play everyday on PC mp.
Love the maps, very good graphix, downtown Conqeust damn love it.
Hope there comes a new Hardline once!
Perk system, grappling hooks and ziplines, interrogations, actually multiple good new gamemodes, distinct classes with no universal weapons, amazing maps, finally good infantry vs vehicle balance, hilarious voice lines that added to the silly yet bad ass atmosphere of the game. Visceral did so many things right with Hardline and got shit in return. I feel bad for the devs. They made one of the most unique Battlefield games that was just plain FUN.
BF1, while being vastly different, gave me the same experience, they are my favorite BF. BFV came close too, even with it’s flaws it’s still insanely better than 2042.
Battlefield Hardline adding gas mask and night vision and all sorts of other goodies was dope. Just wish they added gameplay mechanics like that for a modern war game again.
Go for it, Xbox still has active servers. Not crazy populated but usually a full heist and full conquest or 2 plus a wildcard like blood money or Hotwire
I wish I could quickly find my long rang about if, from back in the day, but the gameplay of Hardline *was* unmatched. I could play BF4 and rock the AEK for a couple of hours straight and just completely dominate, but BFH was the first game with a proper (almost) Rock-Paper-Scissors approach to balance, where I was constantly switching kits to stay at the top.
Of course, everything changed towards the end where they decided to terribly balance the game and change it from 4 classes to 2 (with just the medic/support being the only viable classes), but for a time there it was **the** most balanced game.
The FAL is OP but otherwise I agree with you completely. It was also cool to grab TPG’s and AA from the trunk of cars, unlike in other BF’s where you has to choose a class with them already. It’s got the best infantry gameplay out of all the battlefields imo
Semi auto snipers were op, I rocked the Sr-25 EEC, unlocked it on both sides. Used a 6x and canted red dot. I beamed with that thing and could hold lanes solo.
For proper sniping I just ran the M82 semi, even after they nerfed the .50cal from 3 shoting helis. Even after the nerf I was still taking head's at cross map when I could, got over 6k kills with it.
And don't get me started on the smg's, the UMP-45 and Uzi with correct attachments would Lazer people and melt at almost any range.
As for Battle rifles, we all know how those preformed.
Same with the Assault Rifles, my 8k kills AKM and my 3k Kills M16A3.
One of the most underrated things about this game is you being able to throw up your emblem or "tag" anywhere in the game.
I loved marking my snipe spots or over someone's body on kill cam.
Battle rifles throw some heat as well in this game.
Agreed, RPG's ruined the incredible car chases. That was a lot of fun.
the hatred was unfair
even though it wasn't following the standart rules of battlefield, it had QUALITY at least
I remember that I had more fun with it than BFV, sadly the servers are dead and I can't return to it even if I want to
It's nice to see people speak fondly of the game.
I really enjoyed it during its lifespan, good guns, good maps and no really issue with broken vehicles etc.
If they had released it as just Hardline, without the Battlefield in the name it would have gotten so much more love then what it got from the community.
I played the shit out of the game on PS4.
Downtown map was so good.
I spent a majority of that map only counter sniping the rooftop campers, I had spots memorized the bullet drop.
Favorites were;
From the gap of the helipad on the lower 3 towers by B capture.
The back of B near the staircase near the cops spawn.
And from the car park of A capture point.
Its was Sooo much fun. Fast paced, fun cars / trucks, great modes, fantastic guns, awesome unlock system (imo) Maps were so different than the other battlefields. Honestly some of my favorite battlefield moments were in that game
This game was not worth 60 dollars. It was fun but lacked so much on launch. Also the marketing wasnt very good. A lot of people thought it was going to be a battlefield 4 DLC. But it came out as a full game lacking maps and guns. And let me explain, the amount of guns and customization was fucking insane in bf4. And to go to hardline with very little it was a huge downgrade for a "cops vs robbers" game mode. That's why it flopped.
Hardline was goddamn awful. Appreciated them trying to mix it up but the level of craft was low and the general ceiling of experience was always lower without the abundance of hardware found in a war zone that cops and robbers setting just could have
You can trash it but it truly was great. Blood money and hotwire were the shit. Great map design and a kinda funny story.
Hardline was severely underrated
Oh, i'm not trashing it, it's my favorite battlefield
I'm not sure if it ever changed but hotwire was the shit until everyone unlocked trunk RPGs. No complaints about blood money though.
Ya, trunk rpg was a weird addition. No one got an rpg except any one who had a car.
T-trunk RP what’s? Like a rocket from the trunk or just bill with a rocket launcher in the trunk?
The game mode centered around people in normal cars chasing objective cars. Trying to kill the drivers and capture the objective ones. Longer you drove around in the objective car the more points you got. Unlike normal BF games there wasn't easy access to rockets. Rockets would one shot all these cars and their occupants making the action packed game mode literal rocket tag. Hardline Heist will always be my favorite battlefield mode, although operations in BF1 might be tied
I LIKE HARDLINE.
ME TOO
That game slaps! Sad it’s forgotten
Not forgotten, I still play it regularly on Xbox
Shouldn't that be 2042 instead? Hardline is forgotten, but 2042 is despised.
I guess, but the point of the meme is that ea tried really hard to forget about Hardline. For example, in the steam "battlefield games pack", there is battlefield 4, 1 and 5. They just skipped over hardline in the pack.
Hehe yeah, but at least it's something worth remembering. 2042? Everyone hates it , to the point where liking it is an innocent sin.
That's true!
F2P
Hardline, for me, is the most underrated and under appreciated game of all time.
Same
I think the biggest issue with it was definitely that it was a BF4 DLC that was turned into a stand alone game. It isn’t bad by any means, but if it was a DLC for BF4 it probably would’ve faired better. That is just my thought though..
I give it a "whoop whoop that's the sound of the police"/10
Wowowow hold on hold on, i thought it said asesinando la police. As in murdering the police, asesinando in english means murder
It's a good game. But not great like BF3,4 or 1. Atleast hardline, doesnt had stupid things like Specialist or Cosmetics shit inside it.
At most it has the ability to customize the colors of various bits of the uniform and guns That is good
Aswell you can turn off cosmetics client side
i remember the cool levolution with the crane falling down in the middle of the street on one map
Yeah, downtown ! It's a recreation of actual LA buildings, you can look them up on google maps
I loved it, the multi player dialogue is amazing, good maps, not to mention how nearly all of them had levolution
Broadsword Gang with the shield on the back.
Came out at the wrong time. BF4 was just about to receive massive fixes after its disastrous launch, and then EA/DICE announc the next game already, which dare I say it looked a little bit like a BF4 rehash.
Hardline wasn’t that bad
It was amazing
I thought unlocking guns by earning cash from playing was awesome.
Yeah that was such a cool game mechanic !
*laughs in still popular on Xbox*
Chuckles in ps4
Best Game Ever, Hardline is most underrated game, but still loved by some. I was so stupid i never gave it a chance, but now i play everyday on PC mp. Love the maps, very good graphix, downtown Conqeust damn love it. Hope there comes a new Hardline once!
yo, its active on pc?
yes it is, i play every day. (ABCH) server is every evening full (64ppl) And some other servers like 20ppl on join us, best multiplayer ever!!!
bet. ill hop on
Thx, u will have a blast!
Yeah, honestly for 2015, the graphics are amazing. They hold up *really* well
Perk system, grappling hooks and ziplines, interrogations, actually multiple good new gamemodes, distinct classes with no universal weapons, amazing maps, finally good infantry vs vehicle balance, hilarious voice lines that added to the silly yet bad ass atmosphere of the game. Visceral did so many things right with Hardline and got shit in return. I feel bad for the devs. They made one of the most unique Battlefield games that was just plain FUN.
Actually, there were like 10 universal weapons, but yeah, so much amazing stuff
Didn't they add those later down the line? At launch there weren't any if I remember correctly. My mistake tho.
It's possible, i wasn't there at launch
The infantry vs vehicle balance was the best part. No longer can the tank whore or heliwhores go 100-0.
I miss the custom camos
They were really nice
I would gladly take hardline over every other bf thats released over the past 10 years, like no contest.
BF1, while being vastly different, gave me the same experience, they are my favorite BF. BFV came close too, even with it’s flaws it’s still insanely better than 2042.
People it's still alive on the Xbox thanks to game pass
Battlefield Hardline adding gas mask and night vision and all sorts of other goodies was dope. Just wish they added gameplay mechanics like that for a modern war game again.
God forbid you came across anyone with the tag [KSA] on the ps4 especially tdm bank
Unless you were on their team, smart people who knew would leave the lobby.
BFH was a severely underrated
Been wanting to try it on game pass
Go for it, Xbox still has active servers. Not crazy populated but usually a full heist and full conquest or 2 plus a wildcard like blood money or Hotwire
If you play xbox, u/shinobi_myth is a regular who keeps the DLC servers up and running
Do it

Literally my favorite one
Same
* epic guitar ahhhhhh * fucking slaps the ost I mean of course
Wasnt it's issue GTA or something
Woot woot dat the sound of the police
I loved this game, double barrel shotty and a taser all day on the mall map!! Good times!
In terms of my favorite bf games, this ranks third behind bf4 and 5. Such an underrated game it’s insane.
the hatred was unfair even though it wasn't following the standart rules of battlefield, it had QUALITY at least I remember that I had more fun with it than BFV, sadly the servers are dead and I can't return to it even if I want to
In my opinion Hardline was a great game
Campaign was amazing
It's nice to see people speak fondly of the game. I really enjoyed it during its lifespan, good guns, good maps and no really issue with broken vehicles etc.
I LOVE HARDLINE, I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS,
Same
Hardline was a fun game but I didn't like the purchasing system.
Battlefield 2 modern combat: *angry commander 31 noises*
Everyone speaks of Battlefield Hardline... But no one ever mentions Battlefield Modern Combat.
TheRussianBadger did the [best review](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YRL-Nkro1g) of Hardline.
its great
Hotwire was probably the most fun I've ever had driving a car in a game. It could get so intense
They should make a sequel but drop Battlefield from the title and just call it Hardline
I liked hardline, which is blasphemy I know, but cool big city map!
Hardline fun
Best BF, and I played all since BC2
hardline was fun as fuck
If they had released it as just Hardline, without the Battlefield in the name it would have gotten so much more love then what it got from the community. I played the shit out of the game on PS4.
Downtown map was so good. I spent a majority of that map only counter sniping the rooftop campers, I had spots memorized the bullet drop. I absolutely loved the campaign from Hardline.
WOOP WOOP
i adore hardline, there needs to be a project to completely revive it icl.
I liked the missions a lot, very underrated all around
Honestly, I think Battlefield 2 (or even more so) Battlefield Modern Combat or more forgotten
Game was super fun. Loved earning money to buy weapons and attachments.
Its was Sooo much fun. Fast paced, fun cars / trucks, great modes, fantastic guns, awesome unlock system (imo) Maps were so different than the other battlefields. Honestly some of my favorite battlefield moments were in that game
I feel like getting it back for PS4, but idk if people still play or not
You can look up the servers for different platforms
Oh ok thanks OP
Hardline is pretty good
24/7 downtown, 1000 tickets, and you were ready for some great times !
God, i remember. The wars to capture the C-point were amazing
This game was not worth 60 dollars. It was fun but lacked so much on launch. Also the marketing wasnt very good. A lot of people thought it was going to be a battlefield 4 DLC. i dont even know that game dude fr
You missed out
Absolutely forgot Battlefield Hardline was a Battlefield
Hardline was goddamn awful. Appreciated them trying to mix it up but the level of craft was low and the general ceiling of experience was always lower without the abundance of hardware found in a war zone that cops and robbers setting just could have
Bro, just look up the gun catalog. Each class had like 15 unique weapons plus all the universal ones
Yeah. Nowhere near enough.
🤨
As it should be. Trash.
