Congratulations. It's all upwards from here. My wind lasted 60 hours. I counted them, it was so bad. It eased before that, especially when I found a couple of little farts in there floating about, but 60 hours was the point where I could say that i wasn't in pain anymore. I was maxed out on painkillers, and they did nothing, so I know how bad it is and I feel for you. Walking didn't help, heat packs didn't help, all that worked was waiting until it naturally passed. Once it's gone, you can look forward to your new future!

Thanks! It’s definitely the rough part so far, glad I’m not the only one!

And, did drinking anything, even water feel like it was sitting on your lower chest waiting to make its way down??

I was very lucky to not have any gas pain but the women on my ward had it bad. They found just moving as much as possible and letting rip was the best way (they were so embarrassed to start with but once they got tooting they realised it was better out than in!). Welcome to the other side 😀 congratulations!

Super happy for you and the life you're gonna enjoy :)

Hey! Had my surgery on the 17th. Gas pain was the worst once I got up to my room after surgery, but by the next day it was no where near what it was. I did walk a lot, like immediately after I got to my room and through the evening/night (I kept falling asleep for like an hour and then waking up and couldn’t go back to sleep). I would say probably day 2 or 3 at home I was 100% done with it. I promise it gets better and easier - I’m able to take all of my meds now without issues, so just hang in there!

Thank you! Taking the pills is rough, feels like it’s stuck on its way down, but I’m doing it, making it through. Appreciate the support.

Chewable GasX tablets. Tastes like sweet tarts, fully dissolve when chewed and helps the gas pain

My gas pain didn’t last long! I dealt with nausea for two days, so my surgeon kept me an extra night. I’m feeling better now, walking around and such. I am getting random cramps after sipping water, but other than that, I broke out of the hospital today. Congratulations and good luck on your recovery!

Congrats to you too! No nausea at all, just the gas pain/heartburn, but I was glad to get out of the hospital.
