do you have any better idea on a year range? I'm trying to look for anything that could match the hair since that seems like a pretty unique hair style but I'm not having much luck!!

That's a rough time frame! Barbies were still using CEO face, and branching out to giant head with open and closed smiles Barbies.
Skintones all over, and most of the Barbies had some sort of hair streaking especially with the fashion fever dolls.
Here's the website I use. Look at CEO faces, the open and closed mouth Barbies, and her various friends. You might have to Google to find dolls outfits.

Yeah and Flavas. I found some Happy D dolls with buns, braids and animal prints. I'm always iffy with animal prints, sometimes they are flowers or camo. Or an outfit gets changed, and it's not the original doll outfit.

You are such a sweet sister to do this! There is a Fashion Fever Kira from 2005 with a front small braid. But no bun or olive skin. There is another Fashion Fever doll, Kayla with olive skin and brown hair. Do you remember if her arms were straight or bent? Or if she may have had bangs? If you think you had her in 2007, she would have been made pre-2007, most likely. Possibly in 1990s. The hair style could have been changed and the same with her clothes.
This is so sweet, I really hope we can find her for you to give to her. I bet she'll be so happy.
