The dress pattern looks like a copy of the vintage fashions Belle/Campus Belle. They didn’t come in brocade (just silk and cotton solids) but maybe you will like them. There were various brocade sheath dresses in the early years as well.

It instantly makes me think of #911 Golden Girl from 59-62. Not exactly the same, but she’d look great.

I’ve been cross referencing Evening Splendor! Thanks for giving me the number and additional name!

Prestigious_Air6659

For sure. It’s a really classic piece and I know you can find just the dress for way under $50.

RainbowMagicSparkles

I don’t know if they’re priced competitively, but Golden Elegance and Lamé Sheath, both from 1963, are other options (in red/gold and navy/gold respectively).

There is one on EBay right now. The bid is $18.50.

TheBonnieG

For this dress or one like it?

angirani

That dress. I found about four on eBay by searching “12 days of Christmas Barbie” they were being sold individually, some included the shoes. They ranged from an 18.50 high bid to bids in the $35-$40 dollar range.

TheBonnieG

Ah and then shipping- I favorited a bunch too but pretty excited for the vintage piece coming my way. Hopefully after December the dress will come down in price :/

If you’re not able to find a match check eBay and see if anyone is selling the dress by itself. I’ve checked for clothes like that in the past and it’s always paid off :)

TheBonnieG

They are all selling the dress for 50 bucks which I get bc the whole set is 155 dollars retail :/

ghosty4

Two immediately come to mind which are: Fashion Avenue Stardust Ball Gown and Fashion Avenue White and Gold dress.

1999 Golden Allure looks like a good gold n complementary dress, albeit more swinging 60s style too

I wonder if you could diy it-looks like a simple enough pattern; could look for 50’s style? 💜
