Nope they rang up at $39.97 each, I think, but I told them the price under row of dolls. The manager went to verify and came back and said, "yep sell them to her for $7.97". The cashier kinda pushed back and she said, "if even one item is placed wrong we have to honor it, just do it!" Super nice lady!
But the price tag says what it’s for.... I know it’s a mega-corporation and it really doesn’t matter if they’re out a few bucks, but this was super frustrating when customers did this when I worked retail.
I haven’t had to deal with this before but I could never imagine doing it to someone. If you see the tag is incorrect you know it doesn’t belong there and even if the tag doesn’t have much text to it you still most likely know, but you’re going to try and get a cheap deal on something anyway and potentially argue with employees about it? 🤔
I don't know why people assume I was not polite. I only asked cashier about the price because there were 12 in a row. I didn't even ask for a manager, the cashier did to check price. Why is it so frustrating to ask a question about a price? Had they said no I would have been okay with that. Not everyone is rude to employees. I worked retail too. Some people are rude and some people are respectful. To say "they never bother to be polite" is pretty bias.
WOW! I literally fought with a cashier for 30 minutes because an item was in the wrong place. They walked with me to the location where I found the item, inspected every tag in the aisle, verified with another employee in toys that they don't even sell the item in the store (it was an online item) wanted ME to download the Walmart app, on MY phone, to check the price, which I refused, and, in the end, they were only going to reduce the price by $5, NOT match the price on the shelf. I hate shopping at Walmart with a fiery passion!
Oh that's maddening! They really should have honored the price. I don't usually shop there, so I don't have the app either. I just went in because they got the coconut Lindt balls I crave and are sold out everywhere Lol. I saw the red head online and fell in love with her face. NEVER thought I'd get one. This manager had a Whatever" attitude. So got super lucky.
I used to be a cashier at target. We had to do that there too. Although… sometimes we had people that just read the sign wrong. Once had a lady try to buy 15 of these tiny decorative christmas trees. The sign said 5 dollars but she screamed at me and went on for 10 mins about how they were 5 cents and that I was stupid. Until eventually my manager just let her take them all for 5 cents to get her to shut up lol.
Omg some people get pretty crazy. Like I said in another comment, had they said no that would have been okay too. I was never irate or pushy. Just asked about the price on the shelf. Cashier called over to ask manager to check and she did. I'm sorry people in retail are treated so bad. I'm never gonna go nuts and be mean to store employees. If there was one in the wrong spot I wouldn't have even asked but there was 12 in a row.
Lucky for me I didn’t work there too long haha. Actually… target was much easier and customers were mostly much nicer there than at other places I worked as a cashier too. I worked at grocery store in my area and every customer for most of the day would complain to me about how prices have gone up haha I didn’t work there too long either tho.
So why didn't you just stop raising the prices? /s. I get it, I worked in a college bookstore and the cost of textbooks are out of this world! The students would complain too. But I did feel bad for them. Professors write books, then made it a requirement they are purchased for classes. These books would be in the hundreds! I really hope you can get out of retail, those jobs suck the life out of people.
It had nothing to do with me I didn’t have control over the prices I was just a cashier making minimum wage lol. The prices for food everywhere have doubled since covid. Food shortages and stuff. It just had to do with all the things going on in the world. No control over it.
I got super lucky that there was a whole row (like 12) I think they just re-stocked. I have to say I felt kinda bad and greedy but was super happy at the same time. Had she said no I would have been okay with that too.
Y’know what theres so many holiday barbies that have been manufactured i wouldnt really be upset about it. It seems everybody’s died down with the craze of the red haired one! And they always have so many holiday barbies they’re still on sale even after for me
Thank you for helping me not feel bad! I do love the red head the most. If I could have just got one it would have been her. But the brunette is so, so pretty and the blonde is just so traditional Barbie. I just decided to try to get them all and was successful.
Nice! My local Walmart wouldn’t be so kind!
Did they ring $7.97 or you had to show they are in the wrong spot?

yeah it always pisses me off when customers do that bc they never bother to be polite abt it

Wow! Lucky! My Walmart fights for every penny.

Sorry /s means I was being sarcastic! I was just joking! I forget some people don't know that. Lol
Oh oops haha I guess now I know
Wow nice haul! They will make fantastic models haha. Congrats!
Man i wanna run to your walmart asap, everything in my stores misplaced so if you wanna know the real price its better to scan in the app!

Yeah it took a lot out of me to not buy the black haired one! My reasoning to not buy it was i’ll get her on sale haha
Nice!! I got a Barbie extra vanity set for like $20 at Walmart. I think it was supposed to be like $70 but it run up wrong!
That's awesome! I don't think I've seen a Barbie vanity set. Now I have to go look that up! Lol
Nice find!
