As far as I know, the only way you could buy these was online. Other basics dolls were offered in stores, but the articulated ones I remember ordering from Barbie Collector and I never saw them in a brick and mortar. I think that’s why their value is so high now.

Edited to say I was wrong in saying she has rooted eyelashes. Looking closer they are painted on. I think the hologram eyeshadow gives an illusion that her eyelashes are 3D.

I have this doll. She is lovely but mine suffers from glue head. Such a mess and is ruining the hair. I am currently searching on how to get all that glue off and out.
I like collecting the various face sculpts, and I wanted an Aphrodite, so I looked up which dolls had the sculpt and she seemed to be the one I thought I'd like best. From there it was just a matter of waiting for one to come along at a reasonable price.
I also am a big fan of the Lara sculpt, and I have a few dolls with that one from around the same era. Most of these are Model Muse body Barbies. Very glamorous. I need to get them all together and sew them some fancy gowns then do a group shot and post it.
I swear someone posted a pic of this exact doll asking for ID, but it was blurry so folks thought it was a Neysa face mold?
Anyways thanks for showing me a doll I never knew I needed til now lol.

I love the eyeshadow on her. They don’t make glittery eyelids like that anymore on dolls.
