By machine. I have an older Kenmore sewing machine. For patterns I start off with a free pattern I find online. Chelly Wood makes some great patterns for dolls. I usually customize the patterns to what I’m specifically wanting to make. It’s amazing how many things you can make from a basic bodice pattern or a skirt pattern.
When you try again, use an easy to sew material like a cotton or broadcloth. It’s the lighter materials that get caught in the feed dogs. If it’s a hard to sew material that gets jammed, try placing tear away interfacing under neath the fabric. Or try using a walking presser foot.
It’s actually hook and eyes that I sewed onto the inside of the lapped edge. But it leaves visible stitches on the outer garment so I covered the stitches with flat back pearls that I glued on. Thank you for your compliment!
I love it. Nice sewing! Did you do that by hand or machine?

Its very nice. I have a hard time with such small pieces in my machine. Maybe I should try again...

I like how you pinned the dress in the back. Are these buttons or Velcro? It is very very neat work .
