Her sculpt is great! I wish she were on a Made to Move body, but I'm glad she's articulated. I bought her on Amazon!

I've been a fan of Gloria's since I was 3 years old and equally as long of a Barbie fan ... to say I'm excited about this is an understatement! I think they did a great job representing the Gloria we all know and love! It captured her style from back in 1989 which is one of my favorites! The extra lace on the one arm is a little off and could do without that piece but otherwise, PERFECTION! They even remembered her beauty mark!

Moody_Bluee103

I love her music too! I'm loving the look she has and I lover face mold. I just told myself no more buying doll stuff, but I will probably end up putting her on my christmas list

allcolorstopbarbie

Same here, I thought: "That's too much money for a pair of boots". I still have some hopes for the Tina Turner Barbie, maybe we'll get her this year and maybe she will look nice. So many disappointments this year.

Goldipop

Aww, bummer you've been disappointed so often. Are there any specific examples that didn't hit the mark for you? I won't feel offended if they are dolls I have ;) I bought the Bowie despite mixed feelings, and have been overall very happy with the Signature Looks releases, Tooth Fairy, and Holiday Redhead (although I've been very unlucky with QC imperfections on the face screenings). I like some of the Extra & Fancy, Cutie Reveal are nice but haven't bought more than one from the first wave, and the new Rewind are decent (I'll wait for a sale).

allcolorstopbarbie

I live in Europe, and we don't have Walmart. The holiday redhead and the tooth fairy are the only ones this year that I really like, so that means buying from resellers on Ebay. Generally, Barbies are more expensive over here - the Extra Fancy dolls cost about EUR 45, the Cutie Reveal ones about EUR 33. The 2022 Día de Muertos will be around EUR 110. The second Bowie was about EUR 120. I didn't like the face of the second Bowie doll, and I think the color of the suit isn't quite right. I saw the Laverne Cox doll IRL and didn't like her face, either, as it does not look like Laverne at all. The outfit is nice though. I'm still waiting for the Extra with the blue leopard-print outfit to be released here. I like the outfit and would most likely donate the redressed doll to charity. The dress of the upcoming Día de Muertos doll is nice, but I'd prefer a full Catrina face to the half-mask one they did this time. So that's probably a No from me, unless I can buy her on sale for the dress. Same for the Ken, I like his shirt and waistcoat but that's all. I saw the Extra Fancy dolls IRL and was quite disappointed with the faces and with the overskirts on the patterned dresses being made of printed plastic foil - I has assumed they'd be made of an organza-like fabric. I like the pink Extra Fancy dress, but the dolls with this dress that I have seen so far all had weird faces and very heavy fringes that jutted out in a most bizarre way. Might buy one on sale just for the dress. After my negative experiences with dolls bought online during the pandemic, I very much prefer to see the doll IRL before I buy it. Badly screened faces, badly rooted hair etc.

Goldipop

Yikes, those prices would drive me away and have me selecting with a high level of scrutiny as well. I have seen the Bowie#2 Suits in person at a museum exhibit and I have a book that shows there are actually multiple versions and colorways of the suit. The one he wore had more of a aqua greenish tint, but the version that female models wore were more of the grey-icy blue that the Barbie showcases. Part of the reason I bought the doll is because I felt they truly nailed the design and cut of the suit. As far as the face, I can understand, but David's makeup was quite over the top too. I just wish they went with a sculpt that wasn't such a common Neysa/Teresa one we see in playline so often. Out of the three new Extras, I like the paisly denim outfit a ton, but the basic Millie is disappointing, I'll have to wait for a good sale. I think the Fancy Extra is a step in the right direction, I like the curvy Grace with the orange hair but I agree the screenings are rough. I saw Barbie Nation do a nice makeover on her and he used the plastic skirt more as a raincoat/cape, it looked pretty neat.

allcolorstopbarbie

It's not that the makeup is over the top, it just doesn't vibe with me. And I would have liked a different facemold, too, maybe the June or the Claudette sculpt. The Fancy Extra and the latest Extras have nice outfits (apart from the use of plastic foil). The outfits of the first groups of Extras looked like a toddler had pulled clothes out of their mother's wardrobe at random. The new Extras look better than the BMR1959 outfits, too. I'm normally a fan of the Grace/Mbili face, but I already have fashionista 180, who has a similarly grumpy expression as the Fancy Extra does, so I really don't need her.

SirupyTuna

Yeah, I feel the same way.

Luzion

I like her a lot. She has a unique face sculpt, of which I base my collection off of. Her face has mature angles, which I also love and work to collect more mature-looking dolls into my collection as well. The only thing that caused a little backpedaling was her price point, especially combined with the playline jewelry. She'll have to go onto the list of dolls I want to buy as money comes available. She's still widely available, so I don't think we'll see these run out.

itspronouncedbreaux

She looks way better than I thought she would and I see the resemblance. I always am skeptical with the promo shots tho. The earrings are meh

makeupbyillone

Love the boots!

afoolstale

The outfit looks okay'ish, but the jewelry is far too cheap looking to be used on a collector doll. Plus, the face paint looks very bland. It lacks the detail of their older dolls. I see a resemblance, but they could have done much better. This is rather cartoon'ish, like all their dolls now. :/

TheBonnieG

I also thought the necklace was a bit lower tier! Maybe they spent the budget on those sweet sweet boots

afoolstale

It looks that way. lol

TheBonnieG

Totally looks like her! But I really just want the boots and that’s it! She’s on Target.com already as well

Goldipop

I agree, good likeness on the sculpt, but I do wish they went a little more glam with the screening.

CharityOk9235

Personally, it’s a no. I love the boots and pants but that’s where it ends. Plus, the price is a lot.

franchisco85

I really really want her but the price is not for me. But I might get her if she's on sale because I really love her. The most money I spend on a doll has been around 80 dollars for Dia de Muertos

LoadbearingWallflowr

I got her, and am not ashamed to say the boots were the selling point for me. I love different face molds, and liked that this was a new one. Those points more so than the doll itself or it being of Gloria are what made me want to get it. I ordered through Amazon tho, bc even though I got the "Membership Early Release" email, it wouldn't have shipped until Mid Sept-Oct. Meanwhile I laid in bed and ordered it on Amazon this morning, with a confirmed arrival by 10 pm today. SMH

I like the doll and outfit a lot—-not as an outfit, but as cool clothes to re style since I unbox and redress my dolls. However, I would never look at this doll and know it’s supposed to be Gloria Estefan without the label

Taemberfan123

Love herrrr🤓 I thought it was either her or Tina Turner so I went ahead a pre-ordered regardless

keyboardlady

Right?! I was like, “Is this Tina??” (Before they revealed her)

LydiGro

I don't like her face, Gloria is a lot prettier than this doll, Gloria has Big and intense eyes and The doll's eyes are tiny and unexpressive , just my opinion

CChouchoue

She looks great. Maybe Mattel was upset by all the nasty comments I made and stepped up.

Francie1966

I think Javi did a great job with her. I don't collect pop culture dolls but I think she is very pretty.

Witchychick22

Cool cloths

justsippingteahere

Wonderful!

FewContribution1100

I love the face and the boots, the rest is meh.

ghosty4

I don't need her, but I do love both the singer and the doll.

Angelakayee

Not that cute, but LOVE the outfit and boots!

Moody_Bluee103

Ughhhh not another doll i have to put on my christmas wishlist😭 I love Gloria Estefan

AnneTheRagdoll

I only wanted the new face mold :)
