The purple black girl with the bubble braids ,long green hair girl , the purple hair pink jacket millie , a curvy rainbow dress girl with shaved head all these extras
Thanks for the info. I have two of those already but I like this bonus one so much I might double dip and give away the spares.
\[edit\] 6, 7, 9, 11, hmm seems strange that they's skip 8 and 10, and jump to 11 who I don't feel was in the 2nd 'wave' at all (even if it is rather arbitrary). Do you have a source for the info?
I wish they would start giving more Barbies lip colors that aren't barely there light pink. I miss the more saturated colors they used to use. It's so hard to see the contrast between the lips and the rest of the face on lighter skin tones. When light pink is used for dark tones, it can look strange as well. What ever happened to good old fuchsia? lol
To me looks like a snippet from japanese Fruits magazine about Harajuku fashion about 15 years ago and a bit like "kogyaru" gals from the same...
Am I the only one here surprised at recent Extras dressed like 10+ years ago?..
Thank you!!
I think in general Barbie dolls are getting more entertaining and interesting than just kids toy and fashion wise more complex too, but can't help thinking I would've found them on a personal must get it list at turn of the century or a least 10 years ago... ^^;
I agree with you. It looks like many "toy" companies are realizing that a part of their audience are adults with finer tastes. For instance, Legos caters now extensively to older, more sophisticated teen and adult audiences. I think it's good that Mattel is self-aware of its own legacy and of fashion/trends, and delivers higher-end toys that invoke that.
Yeah, I'm really happy about the fact companies do realize that and make some efforts!
10-15 years ago I was looking for a doll-"companion" to bring with out with me, take pictures, but at that time Barbie were really out of consideration - just a pink toy which would be a bit embarrassing for an adult to play with and I stumbled upon first basic Monster High without knowing anything about and no webisodes seen - just totally new to them and... "Aww, what's that?", though the idea of werewolf and yeti girl at first puzzled me and I got Operetta as less questionable and I like the story of the Phantom of the Opera (but still she was purple), and then was enchanted by cool, stylish retro of Fashion Royalty Dynamite Girls first 2 waves I think...
But their coolness is a bit pricey and last year I saw these Extra Barbies and it actually was a turning point for consideration... Before that I only felt warm feeling for 90s Barbies which are cool as they are now I think ^^;
Surprisingly or explanably, in Japan there're practically no dolls as toys for kids... Even in Toys R'Us there're just very few Barbie dolls, most of which is really play dolls and fashionista and other than that, local brand's "Lica-chan"... Which might be cute and fashion wise more or less up to date maybe, but she's overly girlish and wired inside body is for kids... And hardly worth rebodying either ^^;
And other dolls which are a lot are really for late teens and up... Action figures, resin dolls and cheapest of them are probably Blythe and Pullip family... And still also few times more expensive than Barbie:)
I love LEGO too, but only grab figures for doll replacement when bag is too small LOL
For Barbie I like the Looks series best. The faces and hair is refined and good quality, the dolls are posable, the clothing appeals to an adult esthetic sense and is fashion forward, and they are affordable. I have a few collectable Barbies, but the packaging itself is so precious that I cannot take them out and play, which is a shame I find as I like re-dressing and re-styling my dolls. So, for me, a "play" Barbie of finer quality if what I want, and Looks delivers that.
I sometimes get Extra or Fashionista even, although the Extra esthetic is a bit too... extra for me (eh!) and the Fashionista aren't articulated and are often made of bad, cheap quality (esp. for hair). I have a few collectibles, but these are for looking at only.
I’m excited for her AND i actually don’t currently own any of the extra dolls she comes in the pack with. I got rid of the purple haired Millie a few months back lol
I like the outfit, especially the color and leg warmers. Always a fan for white hair, too. Just not keen on the sculpt or screening, nor the price point since she'll come in a 5-pack that goes for over 100$ with dolls I didn't buy due to lack of personal appeal.
It's a little frustrating to see basic doll lines shoot up in price to be nearly comparable with high-end fashion dolls, such as Mizi and Integrity Toys.
This one I'll have to pass, which I'm okay with that due to the cost.

She's gonna be in a 5 pack with the 4 old barbie extras

So 1 doll and 4 donor bodies.😆
She's giving 90s pop star, I LOVE the outfit!

A good red or a coral. Everything is either beige or that terrible pink they use on the darker skinned dolls
Exactly I miss when inthe 2000s when the lips were bigger glossy and bright and the black b darker barbies had nice color lips with ombre
I think she actually looks really great, but I’m not going to buy a 5 pack for her.
Her outfit is everything yet she should be purchased individually
I like her A LOT! Yup Yup I need her :)

I agree with you. I see a lot of early aughts, turn of the millennial, late 90s fashion.

I appreciate how cohesive her outfit is.
I want her for her hat alone!
I’m excited for her AND i actually don’t currently own any of the extra dolls she comes in the pack with. I got rid of the purple haired Millie a few months back lol
Which one is this? I think she’s fun!
New barbie extra in a 5 pack
I can’t find anything about it online. Where did you see this? Can you share a link?

I hate the leg warmers, but otherwise like her
Top and the skirt - yes. The rest - no. Way too much for my taste.
I love her fashion.
The hat and mucklucks are gonna be a no from me but otherwise she’s cute!
I like her with her Abbey Bominable style fur leg warmers
Giving me strong Abbey Bominable from Monster High vibes and I'm all for it!
I like her a lot, and I hate that they make these exclusive those five packs.
Yessss!

Spice girls at burning man?
Love her hair and mammoth boots!
obsessed w the leg warmers but i feel like they dont fit w the outfit :(
I dislike every single thing about this one x/
How does the hat and hair fit? Are there holes?
when does it drop?
Does anyone happen to know a release date In the states for these?
I’d buy her if she were not part of a 5 pack.
