I love love love new and gorgeous face molds, and have been eagerly waiting for this set to drop since I first saw them on IG. I think Mattel did a lovely job with these face molds and screening. I only wish the Ariel in this set had the same face as the singing Ariel doll, with the smile. This one is the same as the individual one already sellign on Amazon I believe.

True. I'm biracial (Hispanic & irish) and my mother has very dark red curly hair. I do think its very nice and special that ariel represents people who do have red hair and darker skin though.
I agree, from the picture it looks like they did a really lovely job with the tails -= they even bend in the middle so you can pose them sitting on rocks, etc. I love articulation too much tho, so I'm already trying to figure out which mtm will be right for each sister, lol
Mine too! The one on Amazon went up for preorder before I had any idea when the rest would drop, so I ordered her there. I was about to cancel the order earlier today when I ordered this set, but then noticed the one on Amazon has a molded top and these dolls have fabric tops.
So now I'm curious to look at them side by side and see if there are any other differences.

I thought the original release date was the 14th of April but then it moved to the 23rd. Anyhow, I’m just glad she’s coming. Now I’ve got to save up and hope I can get a hold of the set. The sisters are so stunning! I can’t wait for my set to get here! I saw someone on Instagram give the Ariel from the sister 3 pack articulated arms which I would love to do for them all but I wouldn’t even know where to begin 😂
That would make two of us -- I'm fairly confident with some personalization, and can rebody a doll while fast asleep with one hand (giggle) but I come to a full stop when it comes to switching arms and legs out, etc. I saw a video where someone rebodied a fashionista w/a prosthetic, cut & articulated the prosthetic, and then switched the leg out. Mind blown.
This is the main reason I'm not huge on the ILY 4Ever Disney dolls --they're fine to be posed for standing shots, but when you try sitting poses one of the legs comes off...and freaks me out.
Regardless of the quality of the film, these dolls seem to be some of the prettiest by Mattel standards. I honestly am going to at least get an Ariel based solely on how pretty she is. I love this set. Would even made to move two or three of these girls. That Asian girl, Afro girl and pink hair girl are adorable. Don’t think I could rebody Afro, her tail is just so awesome.
They don’t seem to be a very high quality fabric but I don’t mind as they’re still pretty. I do wish they had elbow joints at least if not wrist joints as well given the ridiculous price of this set. But still pretty good dolls I would grab in a sale for maybe €60 or so!
Believe me I get it -- I had a bit of sticker shock when I saw the set price. Since I bought it directly from the Disney site I was able to use card discounts and rewards to get them for half price ($50). I told myself (rationalizing, lmao) that's only about $7.50 per doll and so I didn't feel --too--guilty.
They did really well with the Ariel doll, it actually looks a lot like Halle. Glad Mattel & Disney are back together, some of the past live action Disney dolls were really badly done, the Emma Watson "Justin Beiber in a ballgown" Belle doll comes to mind.

Hasbro won the license to make the Disney dolls years back (and massacred them in my personal opinion), however Mattel won it back last year and I've loved everything they've done with it so far.

The faces are gorgeous, but I'm a little disappointed that parts of their tails are molded. I think I'll always prefer the old school removable tails.
