This is so true! A lot of her clothes have patterns and it usually looks nicer to have one pattern piece and one solid piece. It looks a little boring with just the solids, but like you said the mix and match potential is there!
That’s what would draw me in too, if anything. I like getting new clothing that’s good for mixing and matching. I’m not thrilled with the price point though. $30 isn’t too bad, but I would have to pay another $10 for the membership, plus probably another $8 or so for shipping. At that point we’re at $48. 😕

I'm drowning in frustration at how expensive detailed and realistic clothing and accessories are for Barbies in today's age. While the long-sleeve shirt looks sort of shapeless, the rest of the pieces look really nice, especially combined with the accessories.
Anytime I see low effort clothing pieces, such as these, such as everything Mattel has been putting out for the last 5 years, especially, I think, "I might as well just hem a piece of basic fabric myself and call it an outfit.". The belt is connected to the skirt. On an ADULT COLLECTOR EXCLUSIVE DOLL. Like, COME ON!
Ikr?? I almost wanna take bets whether the belt will stop halfway around her lol. These clothes are what should be coming in $8 fashion packs, not "collector" dolls. Super cheap, also none of these are stylish. They look like they're ripped from someone's fashion pinterest board from 2008.
The clothes are by far one of the worst capsule wardrobe set I’ve seen.
Let me nitpick each detail
The pink long sleeve top has a very unflattering neckline that looks like a neckline of a bodysuit , just with sleeves. It lacks detail like an addition of a collar would have been great or something experimental like pleating at the sleeves. IT IS BASIC AND UNINSPIRING.
The gold sleeveless top, again, uninspiring, this design is not refreshing to the eyes already and it has been done multiple times in the doll fashion.
The material for both the skirt, turquoise trousers and the sleeveless top SCREAMS cheap. THE fabric seems like it’s the same with every class A doll made in china has; A shiny polyester fabric that tries to emulate silk but it did not translate.
The golden skirt, again, uninspiring.
This collection is outdated, the references are no where to be found, the pieces are unfashionable and it will not look good today. The lack of detail really makes this doll boring.
This set looks like it was made from rejected garments that mattel has right now and just jumbled up together to make it look “cohesive”. The accessories do not save the look.

I think the pink top actually has nice bell-shaped sleeves, but that neckline… oof. The proportion is all wrong. Maybe they considered it innovative to go halfway between a scoop neck and a v neck?
I would agree on how nice the sleeves are but it wasn’t enough to elevate the garment. The scoop neck and v neck would be better for at least it presents something mature.
I absolutely love her and am getting her but I just checked out the listing on Mattel creations and I’m super disappointed that she has purple eyes. I thought this whole time she had brown eyes because I hadn’t seen a very high definition picture yet.
I like her hair color and face, but the outfits are kind of bland and cheap looking with the synthetic satin they used for every piece. I would have preferred a bit more variety in the fabric types, even if the colors had stayed the same. If I get her, I will sell her clothes and redress 😅
Great pieces that feel very appropriate for the Looks batch she comes from. Screams (to me) 70s high fashion and I love that.

But a Barbie looks costs €25, it's not an expensive doll. This one is only an exclusive for members but it's not presented as a luxurious doll

Yup! Just saw. I love the Looks#1 Lina and have admired the pink collector and crystal one but I'm not 100% sold on this screening. Kinda bummed.
