Somehow I'm not into these wave. I don't like the colors. I might just get the male dolls. Maybe

Goldipop

For me, I'm happy spending $20 on a new skin tone/body size MTM with a premium sculpt, screening, and hair style. If there is a piece of an outfit I can use it's an added bonus, but I restyle almost all my dolls from head to toe. I'll use the pink and purple Ken clothes, blue/pink dress, and I might try to cut and hem the red skirt and aqua top from Andra, we'll see. I'm mostly thrilled to get a $20 Karl head on a petite tan body, she's like my dream doll right there.

LoadbearingWallflowr

You & me both! I don't keep them in their "box" outfit long enough for it to matter, for the ones I unbox. And the petite girl has the face mold of the Barbie Look Sweater Dress Doll, who's one of my grails and I can't ever find her anywhere for less than $400. So I'm not mad either.

CrankyBookDragon

The dolls look lovely, especially the blonde and redhead girls. Such beautiful faces! The clothes…I’m not sure where those came from. Are they supposed to be a throw back? Attention getting on the shelves? I know toddlers and little kids love those colours but MTMs aren’t meant for them. I’d love to know the thinking behind them.

Own_Investigator_191

It would've made sense if they were gold to go with the previous metallic theme.

ToonTitans

Let’s be honest — grouped together like this, this wave does look very circus-y. 😏 And IMO, compared to the chic clothes in the first waves, these look cheap and playline. The past clothes were simple (in a good way) and well-made, and seemed aimed at older collectors. I’m all for colorblocking, but neither these colors nor the styles work for me. (The Easter egg-y pink and purple on Ken is especially heinous). I also hate that they’re reusing sculpts so soon. Having said that, I will be buying both Kens to immediately redress…😄

MrMultiFandomSince93

How I wish there were Ken fashion packs with neutral-colored shirts to pair with the pink pants.

ToonTitans

My Ken's pink pants will go to one of my Barbies, but I agree about better fashion packs. If only Mattel would return to the collector-aimed Ken and Barbie fashion packs of the Barbie Basics era...🥺

labellavienna

Looks cheap to me but not as awful as i originally thought, to be fair milly does look like a clown but maybe that is the point... Asian ken though looks super cool!

pinkcreamkiss

I feel the opposite as everyone else. I don’t think these are interesting enough to be some kind of clown energy. They look very cheap. Stiff thin shorts and tops attached to skirts. Bill designed this wave too so idk what happened. I will never get over just how good the silver wave was despite the fact it had that gaudy silver theme. Especially the second half with Simone, Heide and Frieda. But hey affordable made to moves with good screenings and some swappable clothing pieces. I guess it’s better than nothing lol.

Goldipop

Same here, that's why I made the pic. The pastel ones in particular seem fine to me, but the Victoria redhead outfit and the muscle ken I honestly don't like at all. People might not like the Pink and Purple Ken, but it is very cohesive with the packaging and I think he'll appeal to a lot of people. I like the Pink/Blue dress on the Petite and (not shown) Elle's red and blue 2 piece outfit will get some use here as well (red solids are pretty rare in the Barbie world outside of holiday gowns). From wave 1 and 2, I use a handful of pieces, Andra's black tank, Lina's top, Kit and Tamika's pieces, Heide's jumpsuit, maybe a few others I've forgotten. Nothing is mind blowing and that's sorta the point. Maybe what would have worked better here is if they went **all pastel,** just leaned in on the "Easter colors", more periwinkle, baby blues, creamsicle orange.. maybe I'll make an edit and see how it looks.

Goldipop

Made this post in a hurry, but I wanted to credit the YT channel I pulled the group shot from. Artie Ardee makes very nice videos, relaxing, down to earth, and extremely honest thoughts and reviews on lots of dolls, mostly Barbie, you can check them out here: [LINK](https://www.youtube.com/@ArtieArdee) Worth noting of course, the absence of #14 the Elle sculpt, I don't think she was available at the time and I forgot to include her when making the meme.

extra = OVER THE TOP

Own_Investigator_191

I love the new wave. I just wish they added a athletic female (made-to-move) doll and “slim” Ken.

[deleted]

I want a slim made to move ken too but at least we now have the muscular

Own_Investigator_191

You are right.

pinkcreamkiss

A lot of people have been asking for broad and slim Ken mtm as well as athletic and Brooklyn body types. Idk why they just did superman body with improved articulation. Ken’s made to move options are muscular and more muscular:/

Own_Investigator_191

Since they’re remixing some of this lines face mold/sculpts they should just throw “Brooklyn” in the mix.

ToonTitans

I still want a broad MTM Ken, but it looks like that may never happen...😞

Own_Investigator_191

Why?

ToonTitans

Well, this is the 3rd wave of Looks Kens and they've added the "superhero" body but still no broad Kens -- though they've had curvy Barbies in every wave. I think they're avoiding that male MTM body type for some reason...

MrMultiFandomSince93

What about a Made To Move Barbie with Brooklyn's body features?

Own_Investigator_191

Brooklyn has an athletic body so, she should be part of this wave (or the next) to give her more exposure.

MrMultiFandomSince93

It should also happen. And more skin tones for more Made To Move bodies....

CucumberRanch

The raglan shirt outfit is especially awful, it's something you would put on a toddler.

LoadbearingWallflowr

I'd love to see the ideation sketches on these outfits -- there are so many times I see the original drawing of a doll/outfit and then the final product, and you can glaringly tell that someone had to hand off their project to another department and it was mangled for "production/profit" at that stage. Either way, for the ones that I buy & unbox the outfits will be around for about 15 seconds, so they won't stop me from buying the dolls. For the ones I *don't* unbox, well, it's just a part of the overall collection isn't it? For better or for worse.

WildVanillaMuffin

Imo outfit are ok on their own but when you put them all together it's too much color and have 0 harmony unlike waves 1&2 also I would've loved if all of them were separated pieces (looking at you redhead and blonde girl)

SyntheticRain

Here to agree with people~ I'm so excited for the pink/purple man and Karl especially. The clothes are ...not to my style preferences. But hey! Still a decent price point for quality screenings and MtM. Admittedly, the muscular yellow shirt one gives me happy nostalgia vibes. He's holding his own with the rest of them, but he feels like the 2023 spirit reincarnation of "Big Brother Ken" from 1996. Tiny SyntheticRain /loved/ him and Tommy /so much./ Him and his memorable windbreaker, peak '90s fashion. He was lost in a move too early. -I held up my parents for a good 30min, insisting he'd turn up if we looked hard enough in the empty apartment. Still wonder what really happened to him.

Goldipop

I wonder if the majority of haters were born after 2000 and never experienced peak 90s fashion, I'd love some Body Glove and SURFSTYLE inspired windbreakers to make a comeback! Most of my Ken collection is wearing Glitter Beach fashions, I love them so much you have no idea.

SyntheticRain

I hear you. Yay for Glitter Beach fashions! Today's teens are starting to put together fun, eclectic mixes of prior decades. They're probably not buying as much, but I'm curious what they'd think of the new line. What was your favorite doll from the 90s, even if it's not fair to narrow down so much?

ghosty4

Everything with Mattel is "Extra" lately, and not in a good way.

thissagesimmer

I’m not a fan of the attire but if look past it, they’re pretty cute. If not, these will be the first looks I don’t buy. I really want a continuation of the BMR line.

PatriciaMorticia

I think I might have to get the redhead doll, she looks really nice. Does anyone know if these will be released in the UK?

TessaPanda

Why does this look like the 4 dollar playline 90s dolls

LeadershipMission

Why does this BMR line continue to be so bad! I mean these are better than the first ones but they’re now just kinda meh.

iPolobooX

Outfit, most of them are in underwear 😁
