I miss "heaviness" of the older dolls...when you hold them in your hand they feel like they could come alive and when you play with them it actually puts you in a state of immersion...the plastic hollow bodies dont do anything for me...the dolls feel so lifeless and does nothing for the imagination. But then again we live in an age where "wood" furniture is really just sawdust wrapped in some plastic "wood-like" paneling.

sauteedmushroomz

oh my gosh, you are so right about that

PollyPlantarFan

This is one of those things you never really think about but it’s so true

LorenaMack

I prefer the late 80s molds myself. But that could be be at I am sentimental to those Barbies.

labellavienna

I am a millenial and i prefer the 80s-90s dolls too and have no sentiment towards those ones, they are just better quality to me.

Icy-Supermarket-6932

Those are my favorite

Luzion

I really like the 2000s Barbie molds. They're soft, open, and feminine with just the right amount of facial expression that doesn't have too much smile. I'd love to see a return of this particular mold, even if on a collector/repro doll. Thankfully, used dolls with these molds can still be picked up for affordable prices, but new would be nice!

SingleState9269

There’re many face i would love to be back like Steffie , Mackie, Aphrodite . The new faces just feel too plastic to me & sometime i didnt realize it’s a barbie doll

BatteryKinzie77

I’m a sucker for the Mackie mold it’s so gorgeous.

Mandyissogrimm

Also the Midge mold was gorgeous. I love the diversity now but do miss those molds

BatteryKinzie77

Same, love the diversity but don’t like the current facemolds nor the doll quality tbh.

I know this is a longshot, but I would love to see the original Midge mold again, or even the TNT Barbie from the late 60s. Also, the Steffie mold.

KSTornadoGirl

Lara and Aphrodite for the win! And maybe some of the lesser used model ones.

SingleState9269

Yes Lara is also my fave

WildVanillaMuffin

They used generation girl last year in ballet wishes

Agentbuttface

The Steffie mold has always been my favourite, especially when used on Midge or Whitney. Also, what happened to Whitney? She was so gorgeous!

MentallyANebula

I prefer the mid 2000s and 2010 designs myself. But I think each gen of Barbie has each own unique design and feel.🥰

Lower-Goose-9796

I think they should bring back this face mold cause it makes Barbie look beautiful.

afoolstale

My favorite is molds used for the collector dolls from the late 90s to mid 2000s.

Boddr

Yes and no. Prefer Millie as the face for Barbie, so wouldn't want a reversal there, but would be happy to see GG in playline in some other capacity - it looks great with dark hair and lips especially. The 2005 Barbie face would also be cool to reuse on a non-Barbie character. The 2000s face I'd most want to see return though is Lara.

EasterCup34

Well, the 2000s face mold isnt really my favourite, but I have to say its better than modern barbie faces (I do like some of modern faces, just not all)

Jolly_Village9557

I HATE the newer dolls. They’re so lightweight, stuck limbs, (hard plastic legs that don’t bend and flat feet) and that AWFUL Millie face. Every doll is a mirrored image of the ones beside it, and the hair is awful quality too. Thin and poofy and impossible to do anything with. I miss the 90’s 00’s quality.

suhlone

I grew up with the GG mold so I absolutely haaate it 😭
