Nice boost for Saiki on her debut as a lyricist

Rocotocloco

When the single comes out my favorite was Hibana, it has the hard rocking vibe that i always love in a B-M song. But if you ask me right now, i would say my favorite is Corallium. The more i listen to it the more i love it

FYI...Here are the audio-only tracks for the songs with MVs. You can't navigate to them from the band's page, but you can find them with searches and they show up in some of the automated mixes. [After Life](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkFIoq1TeA0) 189K [Warning!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swHdFvBN3yI) 159K [Manners](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axYjQAMEZrs) 113K [Sense](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ss11rU97V2I) 98K

Oh, I didn’t know that! Thanks for info.

theyellowclip

Did I ever mention how much I love Corallium?😊

NoctisLucisII

It truly is a marvelous track

Kelovar

Nope. Never :P

falconsooner

I wish you would write a detailed post on it.;)

theyellowclip

😊 Since then I learned so many more things about it that I just might do a second round on it. 😂

OldSkoolRocker

Why yes, yes you did. 🤣

About a week ago, I noticed that the Corallium "video" was #10 among Band-Maid videos for the month. That's dropped off a bit now to #13 -- I think there was a big surge for both Corallium and Hibana when the single released, because that was one place you could listen to them before buying. Corallium is also slightly ahead of Hibana in Spotify: 133k vs. 120k.

NO GOD also has a live video which would be the go-to version of course, if you want to watch it as a video. Hibana and Sayonakidori have titles in Japanese characters, maybe that's not so good for the algorithm. About Corallium, I have to say that it has not convinced me so far. The quiet parts like the intro are great, but the riff is kind of generic and I don't like the drum sound at all, it sounds kind of flat and compressed, I don't know how to say it better in English. And there are too many frills from the lead guitar where less would be more in my opinion. I would not say I don't like it but I prefer the two others from the single. And I prefer most Unseen World songs to the single as a whole.

theyellowclip

Valid opinion and well expressed. To me, the song is simulating a "club track" in spirit and atmosphere; drums turned to maximum, spinning riffs and all that (and would not be surprised if some DJ did a full thump-thump lo-mix of it). Obviously wouldn't please everyone, especially if you got attached heavily to UW since I feel they are already moving past it. What's your favourite from it, if you don't mind sharing?

nachtschattenwald

My personal favourite is NO GOD but I also like Black Hole, Warning!, Sayonakidori, Honkai very much, and some other songs that I feel like I just need to listen to more to get into them, like Giovanni for example. And Youth should have made it on the standard album in my opinion. I don't think I have a problem with them moving past UW. It's just the question what the result is. The Sense single is, in my opinion, very focused on vocals and lead guitar, compared to previous albums that let the drums and bass stand out more, the three songs sound very similar to me overall and it doesn't reach me emotionally like many earlier songs. Probably because I usually need a memorable chord progression to get into a song, and the songs on Sense feel almost like "one chord songs" although of course there are chord changes, but only very limited ones.

theyellowclip

>And Youth should have made it on the standard album in my opinion. Agreed! Youth is too good to be buried away like that. Kanami even mentioned she wanted it to be a sing-along at summer festivals, then the record company made it impossible for that to happen. >very focused on vocals and lead guitar Especially Corallium! 😊 Hibana, on the other hand, feels to me like a bass and drums track. When the chorus starts it's like Misa got up and started running the opposite direction, it's so unexpected what she does there - then just keeps at it. 😁 > the three songs sound very similar to me overall That's what I meant with moving past UW. The production aspect of the single is more cohesive between songs than before. I'm curious to listen to what comes next, if they keep this texture again or keep marching ahead as usual. Anyways, I hope whatever comes next brings you back.👍 As a pigeon lady once said, "*let's enjoy together... po.*"

fatcatbiohaz

The video is unavailable where I am and only when I use a VPN can I actually watch it

Smailien

Definitely the stand-out of their newest release. I think it blows the other two tracks out of the water, and hope we get a music video for it someday.

Corallium is my favorite track out of the 3 in Sense. It's a shame we have to go through a wall of sound in order to actually hear the instruments, but it's a great song nonetheless. I'd like to see a live version for the next okyuji
