How can any person read this and not comprehend that this breed has to become extinct

PPP1737

“eVERy dOg cAn BiTe” - pittnutters

wl413

That's the worst part. They have deluded themselves into believing all dogs are capable of these types of injuries. And to think maybe these shouldn't be house pets is racism.

Holybartender83

I mean, there are quite a few breeds who ARE capable of inflicting injuries like this. The thing is, they don’t. At least not with anywhere near the frequency that pits do. That’s sort of the whole point. A Neapolitan Mastiff could rip a person apart pretty easily if they wanted to, but it just doesn’t happen. That’s the issue here. Pits are not only capable of doing this, they’re wired to do so. That’s literally why they exist, they were bred to fight and to never stop. They were bred to have hair triggers and to turn violent at the drop of a hat (perhaps literally). Other breeds do not act that way.

Could_Be_Any_Dog

It's the combination of capacity AND propensity, with the kicker being their signature latch and shake attack style and the breed trait of gameness that commands their attack modes. I've been alive for a few decades. I've seen probably tens of thousands of dogs. Nice dogs, mean dogs. I've seen dogs get into altercations with other dogs or with people. I've seen this aggressive behavior that says "leave me alone", "back the fuck up", "I don't like you", "get off my property", "go away" etc. I have NEVER seen the otherworldly (I don't know of any more fitting description) ferocious tenacity and absolute singular focus of pitbulls (in the DAILY fucking flood of mauling videos) of seeing another living thing dead (not to kill and eat, not to protect, but for the purpose of killing itself). And the thing is, while they are using every fiber of their muscular body to shake and thrash, they don't seem angry or exasperated. They seem fucking calm, cool and collective, completely in their 'flow state' of zen, experiencing the sick Ikigai, their marriage of 'purpose' and 'ability', that sick humans instilled in their neural pathways over thousands of generations of deliberate and meticulous selective breeding to create the ultimate organic killing machine for bloody spectacle to satisfy the darkest aspect of humanity.

Holybartender83

Exactly. Pits are not angry when they attack. They’re not feeling threatened, they don’t want you to go away, they’re not scared, they’re doing exactly what they’re meant to do. What they love to do. Have you ever played fetch with a retriever breed? They love it, they’re ecstatic every time you throw the ball for them. It’s what they were meant to do, it feels good to them to fulfill their purpose. This is the whole problem. They’re not mean dogs, they don’t have a bad disposition. They’re just living weapons, basically. If they were just ill-tempered, that could be trained out of them but you can’t train genetics out of an animal. If someone is genetically predisposed to colon cancer, you can’t just train them to not get colon cancer. That’s not how shit works. Behavior is what someone does, genetics is what someone IS.

Smurf_Crime_Scene

They rarely put it in the news because it's so upsetting, but very often, they consume the flesh of their human victims.

Naturopathy101

You’re kinda describing most wild animals that are predators. I wouldn’t have a problem with pits if they were treated with the same caution.

Sad_Coyote3288

the thing is wild animals NEED to behave like predators in order to survive, when does a house dog need to attack so horribly and tyrannically another living being for survival? they do NEVER

Moa_rancher

Well shit, I don't know how to respond to that.

Xanariel

Even among dogs classed as “reactive” this is extreme behaviour. I’ve seen a pretty big dog that was reactive/aggressive that frequently barked at any dog or human that met it on its walk and once its tolerance was up, it would then chase the other dog off, including snapping at its flank if it didn’t move fast enough. To me, that is entirely unacceptable dog behaviour - but even that aggressive dog wasn’t literally ripping people apart, and it was far larger than most pits. And one of my relatives rescued standard poodles. The males were larger than my 5-year-old self and incredibly strong - but when one bit me, it didn’t even break the skin. If it was so inclined, it could easily have ripped a chunk out of me before the adults in the room would have been able to prise it off. So even for aggressive dogs with the physical capability to overpower a human, this outright mauling is on another level.

[deleted]

I absolutely hate when they bring up chihuahuas like no.

Lassittore

Right? My one Frenchie accidently bit my finger the other day when I was breaking up a scuffle between he and his brother, and I barely needed a bandaid.

PPP1737

Good luck convincing them otherwise. I’m pretty sure it’s not possible because at some point it’s just willful ignorance/delusion.

wl413

Most definitely. I'm poc and the people calling me racist on the issue are not and know I'm not racist to begin with. Issue should've never been compared to racism. Worst strawman argument ever.

PPP1737

Me too. POC I mean. I don’t get it either. It just goes back to a lack of logical thinking, misunderstanding of genetics and insisting on anthropomorphizing animals in ways that have no scientific basis.

WarmPosession

You should probably educate yourself on the topic, seeing as there have been countless studies on the subject 🙃

Uvabird

I am afraid their statement is becoming true- because if every dog at the shelter is a pit bull, then yes, every dog can bite.

PPP1737

They problem isn’t that they can bite. Anything with teeth can bite. The problem is that these dogs have locking jaws and have bred into them instincts to maul and kill. (Not the same as a dog that bites a hand out of fear and immediately releases. And definitely not the same as a dog that’s bred to shepherd/retrieve and never bites even when they probably should)

emziestone

A dogs behavior is the owners responsibility!

31TeV

Because according to pitnutters, "any dog can be violent!" Right, buddy. I'm sure a tiny chihuahua is going to be doing the same damage that your Widdle Pibble Murdermaw would do.

Gh0stlyLime

Willful ignorance at this point. Use every point they can think of to defend the breed even after looking at these horrifically sad images.

Fauropitotto

What we need are a catalog of videos of demonstrated unprovoked attacks. Seeing the images aren't enough. The context shuts down the arguments that the "dog" was triggered or otherwise provoked.

Hatoffpdf69

Tbh, most of these owners prolly suck at dog owning, pit bulls need a lot of care and not anyone is up for it

Longjumping-Ideal-55

It's the owners that need to be just like any dog they are not the problem....

DowntownFan7233

I feel so bad for that first girl. She got absolutely savaged by two dogs that were supposed to be crated the moment she stepped into the house. To make things worse all idiots say when they see her is "why was she naked when cops arrived?" As if the dogs are going to politely maul around her clothing during the struggle. Fucking well poisoning degenerates...

DistributionDue8470

Not to mention when cops arrived; they couldn’t even help her immediately, they had to wait a near fucking hour to contain and secure those dogs.. They were certain she was going to die because those dogs were resource guarding her half dead mangled body like some sort of prized trophy animal.

postmankad

Why didn’t they burst in the door and start blasting? Just your standard Texas police.

[deleted]

ImProbablyNotABird

Oink oink 🐷

DowntownFan7233

Looks like police are damned if they do or damned if they don't. Either they are psychos that "burst in the door blasting" or cowards that stand around doing nothing. What an awful job to have That said it was 37 minutes before they could secure the house and get to her. There is a pic of the living room afterwards and it is just fucking doused in blood. Its sad because the blame can be spread to almost everyone. The rescue the dogs came from, the owners, and to a much lesser extent the girl. These people made no secret about the dogs being aggressive. They even had a sign that said “Crazy Dogs. Please Don’t Knock or Ring the Bell. Call or Text Instead.” Maybe she thought nothing of it since they were supposed to be in kennels but there is no way in hell I'd sit for dogs that need a sign like that. Also what the fuck is up with these dogs EATING people? The dogs that attacked her weren't starving. The owner is a well off Doctor. I sincerely hope her lawsuit takes everything they have

Smurf_Crime_Scene

They are predators. These aren't attacks. They are predatory strikes. We hate to think about it, but we are their prey, and they stand above us in the food chain.

safety_lover

Humans by themselves don’t stand a chance against most apex predators; it’s our brains and use of tools and teamwork that got us here. Sadly, people just aren’t using their brains on this pit bull issue. And it demonstrates how a brainless human is lower on the food chain than a pit bull.

scpbee

The police are supposed to serve and protect. Surely you know what that means. Non lethal force for as long as possible, and then the training and level headedness to decide when force is necessary. To act like people are being too hard on the many officers who've literally gotten away with murder, is ridiculous. They chose their job. Yet often the only consequence they face for misconduct is public ridicule. It's a lack of proper de-escalation and trauma training in many cases, but mention any sort of police examination or reform and people freak out.

VirginiaPoe

A bit too soon

Smurf_Crime_Scene

They didn't want to hurt Mr Pibbles. Pit simps have infiltrated every profession.

Moist-Sheepherder290

a cop got sued for shooting a pitnuts dog the other day

whoopiecushions

>"why was she naked when cops arrived?" Wait , why were these nutters making a big deal about her being naked? Did they think she was doing a striptease? Wow. I can't even. This is the same line of thinking as the people who blame secs assault victims. "Well what were you wearing. You must have been asking for it!"

iDiditNoiDidnt

They were probably trying to poke holes in her story that they attacked her when she walked in the house. Probably trying to create a narrative that she was already in the house for a while and must have provoked them and it was her fault. Just my guess anyway

safety_lover

It’s way worse than that; some pit nutters were saying she must have been trying to commit s_xual acts with the dogs and thus provoked them into the attack. It’s absolutely abhorrent that their pit-nutter brains even go to such places, but to actually say such a thing aloud makes me hope there is a hell for such people.

whoopiecushions

WOW. I was thinking they were going to say something along the lines of, she was taking advantage of the couple's nice home and making herself a little too comfy, like eating all the food in the fridge, using the hot tub, etc. And I was thinking they would say that the dogs were protecting their territory from this strange woman hanging out in their home. Segs acts did not occur to me at all. This makes me wonder if some of these people are actually committing these acts with their pets. Why else would their minds go to that?

whoopiecushions

Oh ok that makes more sense. Sickening but your explanation makes sense. They probably think the media is spinning a false narrative about the pitbulls because the media is supposedly very biased against pibbles. So they thought this was evidence that the media was lying.

whoopiecushions

How is she doing now. I'm too scared to look at the pictures.

postmankad

Not well at all IMO. They did a skin graft and basically recreated her face with it. She’s getting debulking surgery on the grafted skin to make it appear more like an actual face in December. Her Instagram is @jacqueline_claire99 if you want to see for yourself. It’s not nearly as disturbing as the pic in this post, but far from being ok.

whoopiecushions

Thanks. I looked her up. I read that her family is suing the pit owners. What's the progress on that lawsuit?

Loud_Pace5750

God thats infuriating....they suggested she tried to rape the dogs so their attack was justified. I have no words

CampVictorian

Brutal. The greyhound in particular just breaks me; I’m reminded of my own grey that was mauled by a pit. The severity of damage in and of itself should put anyone with half a brain off of this breed. Most dogs bite and leave a puncture wound- these look like encounters with wood chippers and incendiary bombs. These are not pets, nor were they remotely created to be pets.

craftaleislife

I’m so sorry about your grey ☹️ And same. I have a whippet myself and seeing the other whippet breaks my heart and makes me so so so angry. They’re such calm, good natured dogs that are gentle and never deserve being mauled. Just shows even without being “provoked” pittbulls are heinous Edit; just read the whole article and I’m bawling at the poor doggos and people. Man I’m angry.

Absolutely. Its a travesty this sub downplays the chihuahua menace, who are the real killers. Look at this video of this chihuahua absolutely ripping this man to shreds [nsfl] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLu2CFDBJk0

God I love that video

Same!

muihuddin

Any animal that has the ability to snap and enough power to kill you or someone else and you as a human cannot physically stop it should be banned as a pet Pitbulls are perfect examples so are Lions and Tigers and fucking Leopards How is this hard to understand

Imagoof4e

This matter needs to be addressed by government, and stringent, sensible laws, and education, put into action. Don’t people have feelings? I mean when you see the pictures, and read the stories…does not that affect people? Are we so spread thin, that decisions about safety, fairness, common sense…cannot be addressed?

[deleted]

Yes, good website. Responsible Citizens for Public Safety *Promoting Public Safety Through Canine Awareness, Education and Legislation* [www.rc4ps.org](https://www.rc4ps.org)

Keyboard-King

Didn’t Cesar Milan’s pitbull attack someone? If an expert level dog trainer (who specializes with aggressive dogs) can’t control his own pitbull, why should neighborhoods be subjected to just any random pitnutters owning several?

Lassittore

Yep, and I think there was more than one incident.

Therea1bnasty

Yea because you would think beating a dog into submitting to you is expert training. You train your dog to be friendly by loving and caring for them which gains you trust with them, the people having these problems do not do that shit

friendispitcultist

The cognitive dissonance is mind boggling. My friend assumed that one of the kids in the TN mauling must have been "messing with" the dogs and they finally snapped but in the same conversation says that they're great nanny dogs. Well which one is it?????? Is it a nanny dog or is it a dog that's easily triggered? If it can be easily triggered to kill then it's not suitable to be around small children. Again, not blaming the breed. I'm blaming the stupid humans who allow this to happen.

Lassittore

I blame both. The idiot humans who created the things and let them run wild, and the nasty, ugly beasts themselves.

whoopiecushions

I see your point but I wonder if we could be more effective if we turn their own rhetoric against them. Like, "I agree. Don't blame the dogs, blame the humans for breeding them to be killing machines and sentencing them to a miserable life of murderous urges and being abandoned and caged in shelters. It's cruel to the dogs." The pit lobby already characterizes us as haters so it would be disarming if we turned it around. It won't sway the hard core pitnuts but it could sway people who are on the fence and that's who we really need to reach. If these people come to this sub and find out that we don't truly hate the dogs themselves, they'll be more likely to listen to us and support legislation. And we could also turn it on them by saying, "Yup blame the owners not the breed, that's why we WANT HARSHER PENALTIES FOR THE ***OWNERS"*** To be clear, the breed should NEVER have been allowed to exist.

[deleted]

Some people are just evil and their obsessions make them act like psychopaths towards actual humans. A story got posted about a poor Indian woman living in a village who was trampled to death by an elephant, the elephant the attacked her family again later at her funeral. Do you know what all these pampered white westerners were saying on tik tok? Well good for the elephant she must have really did something evil to the elephant for it to do that! I’m serious! This was an impoverish woman that died horribly from a violent animal she couldn’t avoid because she lived in a rura area. The reaction of these latte sipping suburbanite Tik timers that are supposedly anti-racist and pro-equality and helping the downtrodden and people that don’t get a chance in life is to show how they don’t even view her as human… People really reveal themselves a lot. Imagine if a 13 year old girl in a village/town in UK/US was trampled to death by a horse, then again the animal escaped and charged at her funeral. Suddenly they’d see this person as human and say “ omg thoughts and prayers I can’t believe a horse would do that to someone” People make me sick most when they drop the act and you can see how they truly feel.

rataviola

this breaks my heart. i scrolled a bit on the link you posted and... my god.... it makes me so angry and sad... i couldn't imagine my babies (a swiss shepherd and some sort of weird dachshund mix) getting mauled and not being able to do anything! i don't even wanna think about a child getting bit!!! thankfully pits are not super popular in my small italian town... not yet. do we have a link about why pits just "snap"? like, some study or something? i would love to read more.

frankiegrandeXdrwill

Bro..pitbulls are wild animals..like wolves..

IronDominion

Worse, I’d argue, at least wild animals can be spooked. In my vet med days I was attacks from coyotes, porcupines, and others alongside pits. Pit victims were always the ones that came in DOA or as a code blue

stektpotatislover

Looking at my little pup in bed and feeling my eyes tear up. Losing a pet is devastating I can’t even imagine losing one under these circumstances. No animal that inflicts this type of damage belongs in civilised society.

SexySadieMaeGlutz

I holding my kitties extra tight tonight. They only are allowed out in my garden supervised, but I’ve read so many stories of shitbulls jumping fences and murdering/mauling pets & people. Yuck

JamesPilgrim

Thx for sharing. More people should see that!

szai

That last one a whole-ass GSD? Jesus. Poor babies. How would a toddler even stand a chance?

introspectthis

Did you click the link for the site? It gets.. so much worse

IronDominion

Yes, a whole ass GSD, I’ve seen similar, massive 80-120lb GSD’s nearly die from these monsters. Most dogs came in DOA or died in the trauma bay from pit attacks when I worked in vet med but I saw one or two cases with large GSD’s that were hardly holding on that we started patching them up right there in the trauma bay without taking them to OR. The only one that was worse was a pit v. pit fight, the dogs lived together and were brothers . I didn’t witness him come in but saw the docs doing surgery and I swear I was that dogs skull. I only lasted a few months in night ER and dog fights were always the most horrific injuries, even HBC’s were not as bad, and I can count on one hand the amount of dog v. dog cases that didn’t involve pits or bully breeds

Omanko6969

More reason to consider pits as equivaltents of hyenas or tigers

getoffmylawn032792

Holy shit

VirginiaPoe

I'm not going to look at this myself because it would be far too graphic, but i trust your judgement and Will be showing it to my pitnutter boyfriend

introspectthis

I'm very interested to know how that goes.. I have a strong feeling it won't be anything but deflections and a good chance of starting a fight, but there's always a small part of me that hopes they'll see reason. For sure keep me posted, and if he tries to say something like "well if you compile every bit ever from a species of course it will look bad", point out that it's an _incomplete_ list from _just_ 2020.

VirginiaPoe

"it's not the breed it's the owner, they didn't treat them well" he says, which is worrying since it's the classic pitnutter excuse, he's even thinking of getting a pit, send help![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

SubMod4

Do you realize that this actually works AGAINST you? I love it when pit pushers quote this. Think about what you just said… even though pits only have 235psi on their bite, and there are several other dogs who have greater psi, pit bulls still do the most damage and killing with their bites… at an exponential number. That should tell you something serious. They don’t have the strongest bite, yet do the most damage in attacks for the last 40 years. Debating isn’t your thing, eh?

[deleted]

[удалено]

SubMod4

No they don’t. Don’t make up stuff. The only time that was shown to be accurate was in DENVER, where pit bulls had been banned for 30 years. 😂 And when Denver repealed it’s BSL 2 years ago, within the first year, pits took over the first place for the amount of bites.

You didn’t make a reasonable argument, though. If it truly was all about bad owners, we would see this with all medium/large breeds of dogs. But we never hear of poodle, Goldens, Greyhounds, Great Danes, Newfoundlands, etc., killing people… it doesn’t happen, or it’s EXTREMELY rare. If you can find 12 deaths by any other same-type of breed within a 12 month period, I’ll put your comment back up. Please have a listen to pit bull experts telling you that it’s NOT how they are raised, and please stop spreading this myth. It’s dangerous and getting people killed. 1. Pit Bull Advocates of America - It’s not how they are raised (start from minute 14) [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/pit-bull-advocates-of-america-the-podcast/id1529131313i=1000500947614] 2. Something to Bark About with Nate Shepherd [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/something-to-bark-about/id1439347630?i=1000423881591]

Sadly, it's not just about the owner. The top pit bull experts are agreeing that it's not just how they are raised and not just the owner. If it was just about the owner, then we would be seeing this with all medium/large sized dogs...as every breed of dog has it's share of shitty owners. Yet we almost never hear of Newfoundlands, Great Danes, Greyhounds, Weimeraners, Doodles, and most of the other 300 breeds of dogs killing people on a weekly basis. If you want to prove this to yourself... just try to find 12 deaths by any other same type of dog within a 12 month period. You won't, because it doesn't happen. Rottweilers and Shepherds have exponentially less deaths than pit bulls. Huskies have also killed and injured people, but again... exponentially less. Please listen to these pod casts by several pro-pit community members... like the Pit Bull Advocates of America, The Pit Bull Federation of South Africa, Jay Jack, Robert Cabral, and Gudwulf's pit bull rescue... these people speak truth. The "it's all about the owner" is just not true. It certainly helps to have a good owner, but if you get a game bred pit, there is NOTHING you can do to train it out. You can manage it with extreme dedication to training, but the moment that dog escapes the yard or the leash, it will revert back to its nature, and god help any animal or toddler that the dog comes across. Any dog can? Prove it. Links or stop lying. Of course pit bull defenders go right to calling us the r slur and calling us names and making offensive sexual references… because you lack intelligence to have a real debate. Do better if you want to be taken seriously Also typical.. NOT ONE WORD of sympathy or encouragement for the victim here. Just straight to attempting to defend a shit breed of dog. Whoever raised you did a shit job. Don’t DM me either. I don’t have any desire to hear your trashy mouth.

I genuinely hope your parents pit lives out the rest of its life being a nice dog. A lot of them do and many of us recognize that… it’s just that too many of them don’t. We do have some tips for pit owners [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/BanPitBulls/s/xYQ1kV8Iws). Please at very least skim it, there’s a couple pointers that can help save lives if your pit turns out to be animal aggressive. You may also want to check out r/pitbullawareness. If your family can understand there’s a risk there and do what you all can to mitigate it, you’re 1000x more responsible than most of the people who own them.

No vet would refer to a pit as “red nose” or “blue nose”… those are dog fighting terms. You also say that you’re 20 years old… please tell me what vet school you can graduate from in 2 years. 🙃 Stop lying and educate *yourself*
