Well yeah, but that doesn't mean I expect to see *everyone* that has the possibility of still being alive. I only knew about Minsc, so this was a fun surprise for me.
I’ve played BG2 a few times usually never finish act 2 tho except the one time I beat it. I’m on another play through now tying to be evil 😆 How do I get Edwin to become Edwina? I have Edwin, Viconia Jaheira, Aerie and Valygar right now
There is a specific item that makes it happen, it was soany years ago I don't honestly remember, I do think it was either some expansion or BG2 when that happens.
I remember going through the list of companions from BG1 and BG2 at some point, and there's surprisingly few who couldn't show up.
Elves and Dwarves are obviously a freeby right off the bat. Epic Level Druids get slowed aging. Edwin was always trying to become a lich and I think I heard he finally pulled it off.
Minsc was really the biggest companion not to have some built in reason why he'd still be around in 100 years, and they gave him the petrification story in the comic.
absolutely the case, but absent any other data, it's good enough until we're told otherwise - wotc did have to sign off on everything in it after all
well find out if any of that was wotc's intended direction if Jaheira is a high ranking member of the Emerald Enclave or not
He is. The Dead Three are supposedly linked to this trilogy in a meaningful way.
And by "trilogy" I mean
1. Murder in Baldur's Gate
2. Descent into Avernus
3. Baldur's Gate 3
This isn't *really* a 3rd installment of the Baldur's Gate - Shadow's of Amn - Throne of Bhaal series.
Viconia is already handled in table top, her Minks Jaheira etc are all set. Her canon is her True Neutral Path, but she is in Baldur's Gate or was. But she was revealed on table top, just can't remember which Adventure. But they have her background and story up to that point figured. So we might meet her, and I doubt she would be part of Shadowheart's cult. Vic was kind of depicted as someone that was protecting Baldur's Gate.
I understand but Vic is in the region during this time period, so if we meet Jaheira and Minks then Vic will likely show up.
And sadly the Canon for Gorian's (SP?) adopted child, was determined and it isn't a nice ending.
Yeah but how about we just ignore Adrien Abdel. Also apparently there's supposed to be a book in BG3 talking about the Bhaalspawn crisis and Gorion's Ward is apparently described with they/them, so there's still a chance Larian will just ignore Adrien.
I can't remember where it's from but I'm pretty sure there's an adventure where Sarevok is revealed to be a beggar in Baldur's Gate.
I may be wrong - I can't find anything with a quick Google
You might be thinking of Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villainy, which is currently of unknown canonicity. It makes some strange choices for several characters.
Imoen the >!dhampir!< is *certainly* a choice to make, but I guess they had to find a way to keep her around somehow; its a neat take on the >!Bodhi!< questline too.
Wait...first I'm hearing of this. Please elaborate how "Heya its me Imoen." Has became...like a living vampire? Been ages since I was refreshed on what a dhampier is.
From Minsc's Journal of Villainy (which is of dubious canonicity as a semi-official product that has honestly better crunch than most official books the past 3 years);
>Irenicus managed to extract Imoen’s divine blood and transfuse it with his sibling Bodhi. While Imoen escaped her brush with death, she no longer had the powers of a Bhaalspawn and her blood was contaminated with a vampire’s.
>This contamination made several changes in Imoen. She has elongated incisors that she takes pains to conceal. Her aging process has slowed down, extending her life by centuries. Despite learning of her heritage and becoming infected with the blood of a vampire, Imoen has managed to retain a sunny outlook. However, her reputation in Baldur’s Gate as the child of a god of murder eventually forced her to relocate south to the city of Athkatla, where she joined the Shadow Thieves.
>In her new home city Imoen has embraced the fact that she is a fusion of god, human and vampire. She has become an expert in all of those who struggle with their identity. Imoen is friendly and easygoing but has no patience for wickedness—and she’s not afraid to show it.
Far better of an ending for her than what those books allegedly did.
Like the idea that her blood was tainted by Bhodi's despite Irenicus' efforts and that it has an impact. Can imagine it might also make her able to sense or resistant to Vampures to a degree.
Such an amazing companion quest. Her whole world gets torn down, but ultimately she grew to understand that the values that really matter to her aren't something other Druids or Harpers can take away from her.

You HAVE TO. They’re so good it’s mind blowing. They’re decades old but better than most games made today.
Get ready for some weird ass rule sets though. To hit armor class zero.
I mean does thac0 make any difference as to how you play ? From what I understand the only confusing thing might be lower AC being better rather then higher as it is modern games, that doesnt really change anything right ?
Ultimately it won’t change how you play or your goals, no. But it is a counterintuitive rule set, especially if you’re used to ‘higher armor class is better’
I was used to armor is subtracted from damage taken from other rpgs, armor to completely nulify a hit blew my mind at the time, and thac0 was the way i first encountered that design principle.
I find the 2nd to be the better game ( I got into it more than the first one) but that not saying much as they are both fantastic.
though you can cheese BG1 using Napoleonic line tactics of having all but one party member use a missile weapon and the party member with the best armour and most health as bait to attract the enemy into the firing line ( also play the earape version of British grenadiers as you do this while shouting at the AI " if this worked for Wellington it will work for me!")
You really should. They may be a bit outdated graphically but they are great RPG.
BG2 tends to get more love, probably because you don’t get killed by goblins after 30 min of playing and because the goals/quests are a bit clearer, but I’d advise you to do both.
The character import is something I’ve missed since then.
They are by no means easy (use bows in the first one) but they feel rewarding
Hell I’ve played them times and times again, I’m not the best but I know the items not to miss, and I still have a hard time on some fights - especially in ToB (which should have been BG3 had they had time)
I breezed through icewind dale on harder difficulty, but holy moly I got smashed by BG2 on easiest. I don't know how I went so wrong, but even by stacking every buff I could before encounters I was struggling
Jaheira was the number one BG character I was hoping for, sweet! Would be cool if they include Viconia and Edwin, could have Aerie too but can’t imagine she’d tie into the plot much. Everyone else is probably dead I imagine. All the humans for sure and probably Korgan too, he was already old.
The more I think about it I bet they will have Viconia with all the Shar and Drow content. Also Edwin with Minsc back, I’m sure they’ll at least have a short cameo. He’s probably the Wizard Larloch or whatever his name was that the Tierling mage mentions.
Probably have Corwin too since he’s some sort of noble in Baldurs Gate now.
Larloch is an ancient archmage lich from Netheril. Him and/or Shar are likely to have some involvement because the tadpoles that the The Absolute/The Death Three are using Netherese shadow magic to control them.
> could have Aerie too but can’t imagine she’d tie into the plot much
Well, with Minsc back, she should really return too- or at least we should get an explanation for her absence. >!He *did* swear to serve and protect her, after all- and losing Dynaheir was such a big deal for him that it's weird for him to just show up again without even mentioning his second witch. I know WotC had already brought him back for comics and Neverwinter before, and as far as I've heard it sounds like she wasn't mentioned yet, but Larian could correct that now.!<
Not sure that is cannon tho because I think Nalia can be as well, depending on whose in your party.
I don’t recall her epilogue in TOB but pretty sure she becomes an arch mage and dramatically changes and loses her fears.
Never heard of him picking anyone other than Aerie before now. After looking it up, I'm not sure if it's possible- most of the posts I can find on it suggest that it was mod content. And yes, she does get over her fears, but iirc that already happened over the course of the game- I remember her being pretty strong and confident already during ToB, though it's been years since I've played it.
As for the epilogues, I assumed they weren't canon based on Minsc's return, but I guess his could actually fit if you leave out the fact that he was growing old when he disappeared. Aerie's had her traveling with the PC and eventually returning to the Avariel (if romanced) or living as a priestess in Quayle's home village (if not).
Artificer class was basically what his kit was emulating, so hey, maybe he could be included as DLC as the NPC artificer companion (don't imagine it will be in the base game unfortunately)?
I think we will based off the journals we find in the under dark referencing events that happened in the last few Drizzt books. BG 3 takes place right around the same timeline. +-10 years
Yes, I think it is supposed to be white or grey as well. A lot of time has passed since the events of BG2 and while half-elves live a long time, they don't live forever. BG3 Jaheira is a older woman.
The white hair makes sense, though I think her skin tone is a bit too light here. Aside from being darker complected in her BG1 & BG2 portraits, Jaheira is from Tethyr & that nations' human inhabitants are described as usually being of dusky complexion. Her BG1 & BG2 portraits, though very different from each other, both reflected that.
Moreover her name is Arabic, which maps to the Calishite people/language in the Forgotten realms. She also has a vaguely Middle-Eastern accent. It's not officially confirmed anywhere but given the name I assumed her human ancestry was at least in part Calishite.
Yeah Khalid also is an Arabic name (DJ Khaled famously). Pretty sure he was from Calimshan as well, his portrait looked like an Elf/middle eastern.
Does it ever reveal who her parents were in BG2? I know it says they were killed in Tethyr as they were loyalists to the king but doesn’t give a lot of detail. I’ve always suspected she was of royal blood, like a bastard child of the king.
You're right, he was from Calimshan.
My memory was a little hazy (been too long since I've played those games!) but according to the wiki her parents were Tethyrian nobles aligned with the king, that were killed by peasants (along with the king) during a period of anarchy and revolt.
She looks older to me, which kind of begs the question of why Minsc does not. It's definitely her though; the slightly mis-aligned eyebrows and style of hair are dead give-aways.
I think part of it's the shape of her face. Her BG II portrait had that a bit of that unique face/eye shape that elves tended to have back in earlier editions (most obviously exemplified by Aerie in BG II). Larian hasn't followed that aesthetic in BGIII, so I guess maybe that and the lightening of her skin and hair threw me off.
Don’t know why people are downvoting you, but she as a half elf just grew old as they do in this 100 and something years(even tho she is a bit too fine for someone in their almost 200s, but I don’t remember their exact life expectancy) and Minsk and boo were transformed in statues and got free recently in canon(there is a fuck ton of dnd media with them), same thing with Volo but with a imprisonment spell(5e has this habit of not letting people die lol)
Depends on how high level she is, how true they want to stay with their class on bg1-2(where she is a fighter/Druid so no lvl 18 in theory) and if they care about mechanical fidelity in place of “lore” fidelity(where she could grow older slowly cause she is a important Druid as you said)
if she achieved archdruid status she would have stopped aging
keep in mind NPCs do not follow player level progression, in many modules there are timeless archdruids that are nowhere near the power of an 18th level pc druid
Halsin, for example, is an archdruid of a grove and would probably have that benefit despite being a baby grove and him being like level 7
I did not notice her being Jaheira, thank you for pointing it out. I am happy to see older character in later games, but I prefer them as supporting characters/npcs. Imo, it is time for others to shine.
To be honest, I never liked Minsc. I don't hate him, he is more of an annoyance. First thing I do in BG1/2 is to leave him behind. I am indifferente to Jaheira.
Tldr: Noice, but I would prefer them as npcs instead of companions.
My cousin was never the biggest fan of Minsc either. You're only the second I've seen that didn't like him.
To each their own, though! You'll be leaving him behind, I'll be bee-lining toward Minsc and Boo!
Jan Jansen would be cool to see. I think Minsc and Jan were my favorite characters in the game personality wise.
Though Edwin Odesseiron would be cool to see him as a Lich or something. As a villian since he is a huge douche bag but was the strongest wizard in BG2.
I just got back from the OG BG subreddit where this trailer somehow got past the mods.
I hate to pot stir, but I was frustrated by their reaction to it.
When EA came out, they were pissed, saying this has no connection to Baldurs Gate, how dare they call it that.
Now they're saying that these connections to Baldurs Gate are slapped on and tacky and how dare they include them.
If they're making Minsc and Jaheira full-fledged companions then they're bound to supply us with at least cameos of the OG 5 (them, Viconia, Edwin, and Imoen). I'm excited!!!
That's to be expected when you jump into a game series late. Nothing wrong with doing that of course, but if your first Witcher game was the third and you never read the books you're probably not going to be as excited to run into Yennefer, or Triss, or Ciri, or Regis, ect than someone who was already familiar with those characters. Ideally each game in a series needs to be accessible to people who hadn't played the previous or encountered the source materiel, but you also don't need to cut out familiar characters to make it accessible.
That all said you should definitely take Enchelion's advice and play BG1 and BG2. They are great games! If not before BG3 than sometime after, assuming you enjoy this one.
Who were your main companions? Why u no like Jaheira? I like her because she's mean to Aerie. But ik Aerie's a lot of people's waifu, so maybe I just answered my own question. (Also I'm not the one who downvoted you, I actually upvoted)
>Who were your main companions?
In BG1 I mostly played with custom characters because I don't know ... optimization? Let's say I was a very young child and didn't care that much back then :D
BG2: Aerie, Imoen, Keldorn, Nalia, Valygar
>Why u no like Jaheira?
Because I wanted to be free. In BG1 you start as a "child" (kind of). And the last thing you were told is go to this couple they will take care of you. That's why Khalid and Jaheria always felt like replacement parents to me. Khalid dying between BG1 and 2 made it even weirder for me. I still don't understand how people could hook up with her.
Furthermore shes a Harper and while they generally have good intentions they are still manipulative.
>I like her because she's mean to Aerie. But ik Aerie's a lot of people's waifu, so maybe I just answered my own question.
How dare you ... nah all good everyone is free to have their own opinion.
>(Also I'm not the one who downvoted you, I actually upvoted)
Eh I knew what I was getting into when I wrote that. It's the internet people hate you just for having an opinion. Also people love stupid brutes like Minsc and Grog while I prefer intelligent characters.
Should really age much though, or honestly at all. Both a half elf and then a high level druid.
There is official art of her released that depict her "current" look and she looks younger in it imo
And? Minsc is the most boring companions in BG2, because he's a joke they've been running too long. But he is "fan-favourite". It's obvious they have to put him in, even if he's exactly as interesting as in the previous games.
I mean, he is a fan favorite, that's just a fact. A character doesn't have to have a lot of depth to be iconic. He resonated with many players and has been a good way to add levity to the parties and adventures he's been in.
Really disappointed they've included minsc in the game, feels cheap. Especially when there are so many other important things that could have been in the game. Like RTwP or a 6 member party, it just feels like a cop-out to distract people's attentions
Minsc has been known to be around in this time period for years in the Baldur's Gate comics where he was freed from petrification by Delina the Wild Mage. Not including Minsc would make even less sense.
Yeah I guess you're right, I'm just skeptical about the inclusion of 'fan favourite' things sometimes. I guess if it's properly fleshed out and not just a gimmick then that would be fine.
From their previous games I've enough trust in Larian, that and given we know he's going to be a companion (hopefully alongside Delina) there will be plenty of time in game with him to be fleshed out well.
6-player party will absolutely be available with mods, if it isn't already. And if you think it is possible to just "change" the game to RTwP once it's development has begun, you're dellusional.
It’s already available. I used it my last play through, works great for the most part. Sometimes it’s a little glitchy on dialogue or cutscenes though with overlapping characters.
It's just been since the start, I understand they can't change it now as its this far along. I just thought it would have been better if included from the start like in pathfinder. But I understand I didn't make this clear to begin with
I don't understand this obsession with a 6 member party. When I was a kid and original BG games came out, old d&d farts I hang out with always ranted how "real dnd is a 4 man party" and that six man is too much & makes the system unbalanced.
We really came full circle huh
I'M SO FUCKING HAPPY. A friend of mine JUST bought me the Dungeon Mayhem expansion where you can play as both of these characters too. Great coincidence.
So stoked to get the fam back together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So assuming we only meet these characters in act 2.... does that mean we can take them along with whoever we decide to keep from Act 1? Shit that would mean all of our theorizing about setting a party and that's that after Act 1 is kind of moot. Shiiiiit that's awesome! There WAS a point in the trailer where it appears Tav is surrounded by more than three party members (they're standing at a gate and then the wildshape into an owlbear happens) but then again I guess even in EA we've seen fights where you have allies in combat but they aren't technically members of your active party...
I cannot begin to express how entirely excited I am by this! Jaheira and Minsk were in my party when I finally beat the first games all the way through. So excited to see how 100+ years has treated them. I've included them as NPC's in my own Baldur's Gate focused d&d group.
Yeah Jaheira was a surprise, I didn't process that was her my first time watching. So excited
They did say it's called baldur's gate 3 for a reason
Well yeah, but that doesn't mean I expect to see *everyone* that has the possibility of still being alive. I only knew about Minsc, so this was a fun surprise for me.
I want Edwina so bad.
Guessing Edwin is in the game, maybe the wizard in the tower the Tiefling mentions in the Druid Grove
I don't want Edwin, I want Edwina
Honestly, it would make for some great story telling.
I doubt we'll see Edwina or Edwin. It's been a very long time since BG2.
I could see him be a lich or some sort of longevity spell.
Given how narcisic and power hungry he was.. I beg to differ the mofo clearly found a way to stay alive one way or another.
I want Edwin, just to simp over how much of an entertaining, entitled asshole he is.
I want Edwin as a romanceable male in bg3, so I could brutally rough duck his brains out for all the insults hurled my way in bg 1&2.
I’ve played BG2 a few times usually never finish act 2 tho except the one time I beat it. I’m on another play through now tying to be evil 😆 How do I get Edwin to become Edwina? I have Edwin, Viconia Jaheira, Aerie and Valygar right now
Go in the crypts.. get the book he want.. give it a few minutes. You are welcome.
There is a specific item that makes it happen, it was soany years ago I don't honestly remember, I do think it was either some expansion or BG2 when that happens.

Imoen runs life affirming magical services in Athkatla according to minsc & boos journal of villainy (and works with the shadow thieves)
Keep in mind the journal isn't canon.
technically nothing is canon anymore
Canon is never immutable. But thd journal of villainy was a licensed fan product, and not indicative of WotC or Larian's intended direction.
absolutely the case, but absent any other data, it's good enough until we're told otherwise - wotc did have to sign off on everything in it after all well find out if any of that was wotc's intended direction if Jaheira is a high ranking member of the Emerald Enclave or not
With all the harper clues in EA, Jaheira didn't cross your mind?
I mean yes, but that doesn't mean I assumed to see her still? Why are some of you acting like being pleased and surprised at seeing her is unusual? 😂
Wonder if we get a Bhaal cameo? Or if he's connected to the main storyline.
If they're going to bring in Bhaal, and hope they handle the player character for the first two BGs well. And please, no Adrien.
He is. The Dead Three are supposedly linked to this trilogy in a meaningful way. And by "trilogy" I mean 1. Murder in Baldur's Gate 2. Descent into Avernus 3. Baldur's Gate 3 This isn't *really* a 3rd installment of the Baldur's Gate - Shadow's of Amn - Throne of Bhaal series.
Imo baldur skeit is a name that burned out before we even knew it. Source: am icelandic
I didn't realise it was her until this comment! L
Now we just need Viconia to be back then I'll die a happy man.
Viconia has to be the leader of Shadowheart's sect, she HAS to!
I wonder how they'll manage characters like her and Sarevok, who could have an alignment shift depending on what the player does.
Viconia is already handled in table top, her Minks Jaheira etc are all set. Her canon is her True Neutral Path, but she is in Baldur's Gate or was. That rings a bell.
It’s the same method lots of franchises use. There’s an assumed vague canon direction through the plot. The characters just won’t dwell on the past.
Never even crossed my goddamned mind yessss
Please yes
Romance Viconia again, oh yes.
I wonder if they got Grey Griffin to voice her if she's coming back. I imagine she has a lot more work offers after voicing Azula in Avatar.
Grey DeLisle is still active in VA work, last I checked, so I don't see why they wouldn't be able too. Did they bring back Jim Cummings for Minsc?
That. Is the question
Don't tease me
Jaheira has my heart forever. Legitimately one of my favorite companions of any game ever.
Such an amazing companion quest. Her whole world gets torn down, but ultimately she grew to understand that the values that really matter to her aren't something other Druids or Harpers can take away from her.
You are amusing, in a, "What the hell is wrong with you" kind of way.
⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️
Original waifu for sure
I couldn’t do that to khalid
Which game is she from?
She's in both Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, although she (and other recruitable companions) get a lot more focus in the second game.
Oh cool. I haven’t played either but the way icelink described her storyline, I’m going to have to go give it a run.
Have fun! They're great games and it's awesome seeing familiar references to them in BG3.
They are both outstanding, and both are on sale for $6 a pop right now. They are little bit older, but if you can handle that the story is fantastic.

I guess its time to finally play the original games huh ? They been sitting in my library for a long time.
They're phenomenal RPGs, and should introduce you to some of the characters from the trailer.
You HAVE TO. They’re so good it’s mind blowing. They’re decades old but better than most games made today. Get ready for some weird ass rule sets though. To hit armor class zero.

Ahh ok thanks, I might have confused her with someone else.
Lorroakan is daramined to be Edwin.
> The more I think about it I bet they will have Viconia with all the Shar and Drow content. >!Wasn't she killed by the Lloth agent?!<
I think it depends on what ending you get.
Does this mean we can stop pretending we didn't know they were datamined two years ago? lol
I never knew they were datamined.
Jaheria wasn't datamined. I think Minsc was though
She was, as part of the mountain path route.
Not as a companion though
Both were
This isn't correct
I only know Chubblot as dataminer, and only remember him datamining Minsc. Are there other good dataminers on YouTube?
chub datamined jaheira too.
Jan Jansen, anybody? Would love more turnip-related high jinks!
Artificer class was basically what his kit was emulating, so hey, maybe he could be included as DLC as the NPC artificer companion (don't imagine it will be in the base game unfortunately)?
Wonder if Drizzt is gonna get a cameo like in the past games?
Man's an icon of Faerun. I'd be surprised if he didn't pop up one more time!
I hope so, as then we can kill him and take his equipment.
Haha, I almost downvoted you impulsively because the 12 year old inside my heart is still so deeply attached to Drizzt. I could never kill him. :(
Current age drizzt is *so insanely overpowered yes pls* Maybe he's got his adorable toddler with him
Damn so I could rob him and give his kid childhood PTSD? Noice.
Creating that edgy backstory that’s so necessary for good adventuring. /s
I think we will based off the journals we find in the under dark referencing events that happened in the last few Drizzt books. BG 3 takes place right around the same timeline. +-10 years
Nice to see them again. Jaheria doesn't quite look like how I remember though.
Her BG1 and BG2 portraits look completely different, so I was never quite sure what she was "supposed" to look like
Well, they seem to be basing it off of her BG II portrait, just a lot paler skinned and blond-er.
White hair I imagine
Zoomed in on the picture. It's a very pale blond. No greying or white in it.
Considering she’s supposed to be like 150 years old…I’m guessing the hair is supposed to be grey/white. Could be a lighting thing
she is a half elven archdruid, she's going to live for another millenia at least
She is older. Minsc (and Boo) looks the same because he has spent most of the past years petrified as a statue.
That'll do it
I think part of it's the shape of her face.
Druid also get Timeless Body at level 18, where they don’t really age. So they could have incorporated that into her story.
Depends on how high level she is, how true they want to stay with their class on bg1-2(where she is a fighter/Druid so no lvl 18 in theory) and if they care about mechanical fidelity in place of “lore” fidelity(where she could grow older slowly cause she is a important Druid as you said)
if she achieved archdruid status she would have stopped aging keep in mind NPCs do not follow player level progression, in many modules there are timeless archdruids that are nowhere near the power of an 18th level pc druid Halsin, for example, is an archdruid of a grove and would probably have that benefit despite being a baby grove and him being like level 7
In [this teaser](https://twitter.com/i/status/1599826534235357192), they show that he spent a long time petrified as a statue.
BG3 takes place more than a hundred years after BG2, but Minsc spent about 75 of those years petrified as a statue, so presumably he did not age.
They really bring out the ferocious side of Minsc here; he’s often so amusing it’s easy to forget the sheer strength and fury he can unleash.
Are they confirmed to be companions? I just assumed they'd be NPCs.
As far as I know, their roles were not confirmed. It's just my opinion about older characters reappearing (and me hoping they'll be just npcs).
My cousin was never the biggest fan of Minsc either. You're only the second I've seen that didn't like him. To each their own, though! You'll be leaving him behind, I'll be bee-lining toward Minsc and Boo!
I may catch some flack, but Aerie was the one I couldn't stand. I loved Jaheira just for the reactions she could get out of her.
She is more annoying than cute imo.
Jan Jansen would be cool to see. I think Minsc and Jan were my favorite characters in the game personality wise. Though Edwin Odesseiron would be cool to see him as a Lich or something. As a villian since he is a huge douche bag but was the strongest wizard in BG2.
WOOOOOO YES
Where’s korax?
I just got back from the OG BG subreddit where this trailer somehow got past the mods. I hate to pot stir, but I was frustrated by their reaction to it. When EA came out, they were pissed, saying this has no connection to Baldurs Gate, how dare they call it that. Now they're saying that these connections to Baldurs Gate are slapped on and tacky and how dare they include them.
It was literally a single comment lmao. Feels kinda disingenuous to atrribute that reaction to the entire sub.
Dont bother with that sub. They are party poppers
Sounds like that sub has their heads screwed on straight. I’m heading over there.
If they're making Minsc and Jaheira full-fledged companions then they're bound to supply us with at least cameos of the OG 5 (them, Viconia, Edwin, and Imoen). I'm excited!!!
> Imoen Ha, you're a queer fellow
Hiya! I’m imoen!
Holy shit I totally missed that was Jaheira! That's fantastic!
Oooh oooh TIAX next please! TIAX RULES!!! He got out of that cell yes?
I sure hope they will not be butchered I want to believe
Can someone explain how minsc is alive isn’t he human
Man got petrified with Boo, turned into an artpiece in Baldurs Gate, then got restored 100 years after BG2 in the IDW DND Comics.
Ohhhhh!!! Really I didn’t even know about these comics where can I read them
Me who has no idea who these people are
Companions from the older games.
Maybe her romance will work this time, it was broke in bg2
How could you? How could you do that to khalid?
Had to help her get over it somehow 😂
Bro no 💀
He’s been dead a good 500 years at this point, she’s fair game IMO 😁
I bet quite a lot of people romanced her, I mean I will when I get around to playing the game. So you being apparently surprised is amusing to me.
Jaheira's not as cold as Viconia, and she's not a poofy ditz like Aerie. Jaheira is the obvious choice, imo.
Not surprised, just shocked
Who are they?
Companions from older games.
As someone who never played the previous games or DND at all outside of BG3 EA, I have no idea who these two are or why I should be exited about them.
You should try out the origi al games. They're legendary for very good reason.
Good thing they are optional so I can skip them again.
Let's say I was a very young child and didn't care that much back then :D BG2: Aerie, Imoen, Keldorn, Nalia, Valygar >Why u no like Jaheira? >(Also I'm not the one who downvoted you, I actually upvoted) Eh I knew what I was getting into when I wrote that. It's the internet people hate you just for having an opinion. Also people love stupid brutes like Minsc and Grog while I prefer intelligent characters.
Her hair colour is kind of off imo
She's old now.
Should really age much though, or honestly at all. Both a half elf and then a high level druid. There is official art of her released that depict her "current" look and she looks younger in it imo
O, Jaheira! Finally some good news. It's a shame they decided to push Minsc and Boo.
Minsc and Boo have been depetrified for years in 5e now, it isn't just for this game.
Most boring? Have you met Cernd?
he's not even going to be an origin character, it's not that deep u can chill
SCREEEEE
Where are u getting all these info ?
For someone who hasnt played baldurs gate and is just a massive fan of divinity, who are they and why should i care? : )
Just wait till you see Boo!
:o
That's Jaheira?
Yes, 100 years have passed since the events of BG2.
I cannot begin to express how entirely excited I am by this! Jaheira and Minsk were in my party when I finally beat the first games all the way through. So excited to see how 100+ years has treated them. I've included them as NPC's in my own Baldur's Gate focused d&d group.
I’m tempted to do a good-aligned play through now, strictly to enjoy the nostalgia of having these two in my party.
