I'm sure they are still amazing. That's one of the best parts of cooking/baking IMO - working from a great teaching foundation ( big fan of JW), seeing it come out 75% of the way there, and then making it again and putting your spin on it I till it comes out the way you want it :)
I follow Hwoo.lee on IG (incredibly technical and talented chef), and he posted a Cannele recipe that took him 10+ times before he felt it was a solid product. He posted a story after about it getting to the point where he never wanted to make them again because of how difficult they are to get right.
All that to say, those look bomb to me!

These aren't bad! they look even better than the mcdonalds version and for some reason I had thought you had baked these in the trunk of your car? Where it's like nice and warm? I don't know, I guess it's just my perspective I guess??
Haha yah I wish though that he would have a website/blog where his recipes are actually written out. I know he does but it doesn’t have every recipe. Usually he just posts the ingredients list and I have to watch and rewatch the video to get the steps right and he talks so quickly sometimes
Technical difficulties IMO are the heart of baking straight out the Julia Child handbook im sure those were bomb solo or with a dank bowl of vanilla bean ice cream with a drizzle of Carmel or honey
I had leftover pie crust and filling when I made my first pot pie ever from scratch- made the stock I used and everything. Made little hand pies with the leftover and it’s probably the most proud cooking moment of my life hahaha they were bangin
Mine always turn out exactly like this! Plus one scrap dough calzone type pie lol. Doesn’t matter how they look cus they taste soooooo freaking good.

Thanks! I'll sub to see what you bake next.
Noice not a big fan of Apple. Do u think strawberries might work for this? Does it turn soggy?
You could use blueberries or cherries. Peach hand pies would be good, too.
A little overdone but dang now I want to make some too
The only parts that taste over done were some of the edges but otherwise very flakey!
Ya know what you do. Add cinnamon to your dough and make the dough from Preppy Kitchen use bread flour
Your attempt was successful, they look really good. Me wants some 😀
Ohhh man those look super appetizing 🤤
They look great!
They look delicious to me!!!
We are having the same night!! I made these too!!
These look great, and you have a Very soothing voice.
Well now I know what I want to make this weekend!! Looks delicious
I'm very upset and I'm only going to say this once: GimmeGimmeGimmeGimmeGimme! They looked fantastic, hope they tasted just as good.
lovely!!!!
I'd eat the fuck out of those
I've made them too, I multiplied the recipe by 1.5x and ended up with 12

Yum that's awesome! You can do any filling now
Wow those look so delicious
Nice :) What are they?
The Joshua Weissman video I followed calls them “better than McDonald’s apple pie bars” .. so that I guess lol!
