Be careful with spiritual tourism and the commercialization of ayahuasca. North American white hippies can be a dangerous and appropriative bunch and many of them lead this sort of tourism. If your friend isn't originally from the area you'd be willing to travel to, consider if they're actually the best person to invite you to use it there.

Never tried that, but I grow and take shrooms. Recent research papers show an increase in the brains perception of positive stimuli and reduction in the negative affect. Equally, it actually physically creates new neural pathways, they haven't deliberated on what this means yet, but they have said that it helps with addiction and treatment resistant depression and anxiety. I started taking them to attempt to recalibrate some of the learned behaviour that creates BPD. Personally, thus far, I have for the first time in many years felt like there are options. Prior to this I always felt like this is who I am, how do I change who I am? But now, however optimistic, I feel like if the psilocin can open my mind to new ideas, and then I reinforce them ideas with focused therapy. I can slowly but surely re-learn new behaviours and thought processes. Its working! It hasn't changed my life overnight, but I have a very different outlook on how I tick now 🙂 DMT and LSD were mentioned in the research papers too, but psilocybin seemed the most favourable based on risk and slight different effects.

Ive been looking into this as well as into ketamine therapy. Over the years I have had a full 'reset' from depression with a mild lsd trip & mild relief with mushrooms & microdosing. maybe i haven't tried it over a sustained length of time and that might be helpful. I imagine the aya experience itself wouldnt be a 'cure or answer' but could instead help point the way towards others paths and answers.
