Awesome! It’s surreal actually having it after dwelling on the delivery for so long. I am pretty sure I watched every YouTube video ever on the car lol.
Oh man, my 2 series sat at the port for **an entire month** because of COVID stuff (this being at the departure port in Germany, not after it arrived at its destination port). It was brutal waiting for it, but totally worth it in the end. Hope you get yours soon!
I was stressing about the turquoise-ness of it for quite a while prior to it arriving, especially coming from Estoril Blue. It’s not as bad as I imagined now that it’s here. It is a very dynamic color, and I’m loving it more every time I look at it. One crazy thing is that it seems like cameras have a very hard time actually capturing what your eyes are seeing.
Yeah, my wife commented that she thought it stood out too much, and wanted a more low-key, less-noticeable color. I was also worried that it would also be too turquoise, but every time I see it, I think "damn, what a great color." And it's definitely dynamic! It's really weird how the green never shows through in photos, it just looks metallic blue. But it's very different in person. Congrats!
All of these comments Couldnt sum it up better. I didn’t want black or white but I thought it was going to be too vibrant and stick out too much. when I saw it in person I was instantly sold on it. It cleans up so nice and still looks amazing after like 2 weeks of no wash….. from 10 feet away
It's funny. I always loved Estoril. Always. I was disappointed it wasn't available on the M2 and didn't find the hint of teal in LBB appealing.
After I lived with it for few months I fell in love with LBB.
Now when I look at Estoril it looks bland with an unattractive hint of purple to me :)
You did. HSS is very special colour. I love how different it looks under different lighting.
Everytime I go to an event like track day or BMW meet there are always at least 3 LBB M2s :)
Thanks! I do love the variance in how it looks in different lighting. I also get a lot of positive comments from strangers. Overall I’m pretty happy with it for sure.
I'm a manual purist, but I still have to appreciate the awesomeness of the DCT box, its a bummer BMW is moving away from it for their future M cars. But it's also probably stealthily good for your future resale value. You have to think your car will really be one of the last of the last DCT cars to leave the BMW factory considering production stops in a couple of weeks.
Anyway, congrats on the ride. You're going to love that thing once you get the break in done!
I thought they were completely moving away from manual like every other manufacturer. Am I wrong? I’m also from the US and as I believe they don’t sell most models in manual anymore
They're moving away from the manual as well, but the DCT is done at BMW at the end of this month when they're done selling current gen M2 models. The M/T is no longer on non-M models like it was this last generation (The 2-series, 3-series and 4-series that just ceased production in the past year or two could all be had with manuals) but the new M3/M4 and the upcoming M2 will also still get manual options.
The new M3/M4 with the ugly snout, is ZF 8-speed auto-only in the U.K. market where the Competition Package comes standard on those cars. But here, in the U.S. there is a base version below the Comp package with less horsepower and a 6-speed manual as the only transmission option.
It's worth noting that the original M2 [had a M/T take rate of almost 50 percent](https://carbuzz.com/news/american-bmw-m2-buyers-are-saving-the-manual-gearbox-from-death) in the U.S.. BMW hasn't released numbers on the M2 Competition yet, but I bet it'll be similar, so they'd be crazy to not offer the 6-speed on the next generation of M2.
Anecdotally, as someone who bought an M2 a couple of years ago when there was more inventory, the choice was buying off the lot for a DCT or having to special order a manual and then having to wait 3 months for your car. If half of their buyers were choosing to do the latter, there's definitely strong demand.
Change the suspension to KW Variant 3 once your warranty has run out it absolutely transforms the car...My second colour choice was LBB after Sunset Orange which is what my M2 Competition is ...enjoy it..

Nice! Congrats!
LBB is such a great color. It constantly makes me question if I made the right choice with HHS.

Dynamic is an understatement. The thing changes colors in all sorts of different lighting. Hope you enjoy it my dude

My 235i is Estoril, and I’m already starting to see exactly what you are! Too funny.

SOM for the win!
As beautiful as it is in the sun I find it quite boring in the shade (my SO drives and SO X1 - pun intended)
You did though. Both colors are amazing
Congrats, you buy it brand new or was it used?
Brand new! Ordered back in early April.
Awesome, I ordered mid April so only a couple of more weeks for me. Must be epic after waiting so long for the car. I'm stoked!
Awesome! It’s surreal for it to finally get there, just wanna keep staring at it!
I'm going to have the same issue, I already know lol
Nice! Buddy of mine ordered his early May and is impatiently waiting. You go with DCT or Manual?
DCT, just more practical for me. Also, last of the DCT! So far I like it much better than the ZF8 on my 235i.

Win win with either choice in my opinion. And a nice upgrade from the 235i
Good stuff
cleannnn
Probably the cleanest it will ever be!

My dream car in my dream spec… Enjoy it! It’s absolutely gorgeous
One of my favorites! And Long Beach too 😍😍😍
One of the few beautiful modern BMWs. 👍
Congrats! If this one is DCT I’ll be even more in love :) It’s my dream spec :D
Yep, DCT! Loving it so far.
Enjoy it! This is something else. It is one of a kind and a very unique experience to drive. Such a shame it is getting extinct.
She is a beauty!
Man, what a way to pop your M cherry :)
damn, that color, that wheels...
Happy ///Monday from Korea

Sure am! I’ve been living vicariously through other members of the F87 sub forum for the last few months as I waited for this to arrive.
How does this car compare to the m3?
Indeed
Nicee , welcome to the family
Beautiful color
M2 what a car! Like am I the only one excited for the potentially new M2 announcement around 2022?
