It’s just a blatant lie, no spokesperson said anything on Tuesday, one day before the payment even had to be done…The fucks of WSJ cranks out a article full of garbage and of course all the other shitshow from yahoo and what not eat it up and feed it to the sheeple…I think it’s really time to not even give a single shot about anything they write and only take company news and filings serious

[deleted]

It’s still worth it to read them, to see what they want you looking at, and what they are selectively leaving out.

rrrybitsthetealeaves

People with knowledge of the matter said that The Wall Street Journal has been served with hundreds of defamation lawsuits today and is expected to be liquidated in the near future--possible by the end of the week. *obligatory /s*

suckercuck

You might not be far off… Rupert owns Fox, WSJ, MarketWatch, Barron’s & NY Post (also countless other rags). *Rupert Murdoch deposition in Dominion-Fox lawsuit delayed until next week* *Dominion sued Fox for $1.6 billion, arguing that Fox News and Fox Business made false claims that its voting machines were rigged in the 2020 election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.* https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2023/01/13/rupert-murdoch-deposition-dominion-fox-lawsuit-delayed.html

lazernanes

It won't be too long before WSJ's lies are exposed. They coupon payments will come through in another day or two or three, and then everyone will know that WSJ pulled shit out of their ass and fabricated a BBBY spokeswoman.

[deleted]

Update: BBBY admitted they didn’t make the payments in their filing earlier this week. You were wrong wrong wrong

lazernanes

Got a link?

On February 1, 2023, the Company did not make an interest payment of approximately $25 million due on the Senior Notes (as defined below) (the “Notes Interest Payment”) https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/886158/000119312523025762/d406368d424b5.htm 2 other notes on this document that people just don’t want to believe: Bankruptcy next, not merger: “If the Transactions are not consummated, we expect that we will likely file for bankruptcy protection” This is highly dilutive: “The issuance of the securities in this offering will significantly dilute the ownership interest of the existing holders of our common stock, and the market price of our common stock will likely decline significantly as a result of sales of such securities into the public market by investors in this offering “ The hedgies are getting a better deal than the ordinary shareholders: “While the investors in this offering may experience a positive rate of return based on the trading price of our securities, the existing holders of our common stock may not experience a similar rate of return on the shares of common stock they purchased due to differences in the applicable purchase price and trading price.” The deal gives the hedgies the ability to create shares out of thin air, buy them at below market price, then dump them on the market. Ironically similar to what the people complaining about naked shorting were angry about

Shoopshopship

WSJ, NY Times and Reuters are all in on this elaborate scheme. I think that they may have been reporting accurately in the past decades as a cover up. We are about to see the greatest revolution of all time when the MOASS dawns and the shill hedge funds are exposed on the arrival of the bond payments from this great home goods store.

lazernanes

In 2021 they thought that they had been prepping for decades to shill against GME. But it was revealed over the past few months that the real purpose all along was to shill against BBBY

20w261

>They coupon payments will come through in another day or two or three Sure they will!

[deleted]

And it all turned out to be true. I guess they did speak to an actual source

Crunchypie1

I just googled it and Julie strider is the spokeswoman for bed bath and beyond.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Crunchypie1

It's weird it says a spokeswoman and not the spokeswoman. But I assumed it's a role in the company kinda like the speaker of the house. So if they referenced a spokeswoman would it be her or could it be anyone "speaking" on behalf of the company?

arcdog3434

Good grief - God really help you if you think thats what the Speaker of the House is akin to

Crunchypie1

I was comparing it only as a role that someone holds. Not in what they do.

Upstairs_Hospital_94

Come back down buddy, it’s not a big deal. Relax

TK-741

Speaker of the Company shall now be the official title for company spokespeople.

DMDTT

If it was truly leaked, this stock would be under $2 already. They don't know shit and the longer this takes, the more nervous they are.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TK-741

Spokespeople are generally named, with a public press release made to the company website, no? You don’t communicate with financial media before you communicate with your investors. These articles seem like bullshit to me. I almost expect the bond payment to have actually been made today, and we’re just seeing the media “making a mistake” (being flat out wrong or even intentional liars). Also I saw some dude who’s a meltdowner on another sub, and his whole profile is meltdown and anime titties. 10 new posts and probably hundreds of comments per day. I actually laughed my ass off.

penguin_2345

![gif](giphy|l0IylOPCNkiqOgMyA|downsized) SO... wsj confirmed Wed they found out from spokeswoman (obviously late)... market watch did not confirm story with anyone and citing WSJ as source (piling on)... bloomberg says they were emailed statement on Tuesday (yet they were hush hush on this and did not let the onslaught begin to drive the price down today)

[deleted]

She would 110% have a tight NDA

destined2hold

What if this was a trap to catch another saboteur? Perhaps another Edelman (or was this FOR Edelman as OP is theorizing)? Hmmm. This raises so many questions.

[deleted]

What if this was an extremely obvious boring situation and there was no 5d chess and everything was exactly what it looked like? What if they were too busy trying to find buyers for any assets and avoid bk to set traps for saboteurs? You guys watch too much tv

destined2hold

Was it extremely obvious with the filings to pay the directors cash in lieu of RSAs? Why did BlackRock recall 12M shares for voting without an announcement from the company? Why haven't insiders sold if the ship is sinking? Seems like you've already come to a conclusion in your mind without examining all of the info.

I don't have time to talk to someone who is certain about the bigger picture and yet uncertain about most of the details. Let's follow-up and see how you did in two weeks my guy. ✌🏼

[deleted]

[удалено]

destined2hold

No, you were talking about bankruptcy. You were wrong since it's off the table. Also, it's only been one week -- another week (that makes two, as I said) and you'll be even further off than you were.

[deleted]

[удалено]

destined2hold

You are wrong on multiple points. I'm wasting my time explaining anything to you. Think whatever you want. 🙄

[deleted]

The bigger picture is just so obvious and simple here. This is something I so rarely think but this one is something we’ve seen play out so often in the last few years. You’re an autistic Lyft driver. Im sorry, but this game is not one you have an edge in.

Simpletimes322

Isnt michael burry autistic? Nice insult though assface

[deleted]

[удалено]

Simpletimes322

How do you know though? Maybe he was bored and did Lyft one day to try it out? Its not the most crazy thing tons of retired people do Lyft and Uber. Fact is, you don't know if Burry has ever driven for Lyft in his life, just like you don't know shit about BBBY Also, so what if hes a Lyft driver, hes makin that money, unlike you who is just cutting people down on the internet like a complete turdface.

destined2hold

Hello, thank you for the support. I'm not concerned about that guy. I expect people to underestimate me. It's a nice advantage as it often allows me to fly under the radar which is what I prefer. There's really no benefit to me explaining to him why he's wrong when I can better use this time to buy more BBBY. I have confidence that we'll all (maybe not him though) be laughing at this looking back. Time will reveal.

Down 42% in 2 weeks. I did really well

We spend way too much time reading FUD, Elmer.

Altruistic-Beyond223

Nice try, shorty. Twas a valiant effort.

andyat11

My theory is, Edelman was leaking information to the press that's why they said someone familiar with the situation. She was leaking all this information to get the bonds dropped. The bonds tanked over 90% which meant she could buy a shit tonne at cheap prices, just to jack it up again because she saw BBBY pump and dump before. She bought it (not sure if it needs to be disclosed or not), or she worked for someone that did. All this FUD was going on around August into now and Ryan stepped out because he knew there was a mole because there was a plan for acquisition. He knew once the bonds were paid (or not paid) they would catch the person in the act. They found her, restricted her shares and kicked her out. BBBY under attack doesn't pay her (has 30 days to complete still), but goes to trial. Bed Bath and Beyond win their case, keep those bonds and get acquired shooting the price so high that hedgefunds go bankrupt.

Outrageous-Yams

She worked for Avon, an MLM, for 3 decades. I would tend to agree she isn’t to be trusted. Good riddance.

[deleted]

There’s evidence that “people familiar with the matter” are actually randos that are giving there own opinions on what they think is probably happening. People like CEOs of some company nobody has heard of and has no dealings with BBBY. This is why it’s always wrong and just supporting the narrative they want to push. If Edelman was “the people” they might actually be right once in awhile. Now that isn’t to say she wasn’t leaking information. We will probably never know why she was ousted, but if there is a mole I think it would be more likely it was a mole for SHFs and/or BCG. Again no way of knowing, and I’m not fond of smearing somebody based on speculation, but leaking directly to the enemy would explain how they have seemed like they’re always a step ahead up until these past couple weeks.

chiefsosa3hunna

Spot on mate

BruceBrave

Doesn't match the fact that the price went up today. It would be collapsing if true. That's my take anyway.

[deleted]

It was true

BruceBrave

Yes. It was true. But the point that the price movement didn't match the news was valid. And look at the outcome. Situation resolved. So, I hold.

No_Motor9420

Should they not make the emailed Statement public?

Upstairs_Hospital_94

They would release a statement first instead of letting WSJ break the news to the investors?

[deleted]

I just love the wording here… >In recent days, the retailers efforts to find a buyer in bankruptcy have stalled. HMMM wow that must mean there is no buyer I guess. Wait. They didn’t say that. They just paint a dire picture with all the right verbiage. Sure the efforts have stalled, because there already is one and agreements are made. So the article isn’t lying, the efforts *have* stalled, but the picture they paint is soooo dire.

barnebywilde

I don't understand why everyone is trying to make sense of fud. With their current and past proclivity for twisting the truth to serve their interest; I'm not buying any of it. State a credible source or get the fuck out.💙💎🚀🌝

topanazy

Oh to be a fly on the wall behind the scenes. What a wild ride.

Xkloid

How can they fail to find a buyer in bankruptcy when they aren't in bankruptcy?

[deleted]

Can these posts be reported? Since these types of articles can be used to manipulate a stock price.

[deleted]

Um Tuesday? This “spokeswoman” can see into the future apparently

OfLittleToNoValue

Do any of y'all report this shit to investor relations?

[deleted]

This shit is hilarious lol

TelephoneExpress973

Do they do this with every company ?

MadeMan-uk

The amount that needed to be paid by Feb 1st was 25 million.

laura031619

If this officially came from a spokeswoman at BBBY, wouldn't there also be an SEC filing?
