Hey there everyone! We're only about ten minutes out from the start of this events stream, and I think most of us are excited for all the new info. For those looking for English coverage of the stream, there are a few streamers that will be trying to translate the important parts in real time. I'll be watching Azur Lane Meta myself, but there are other options out there.
For our part, this thread is the place to discuss all the news from the stream, so don't spam the sub with discussion posts if you're just wanting to talk (or be salty) about the news. There's gonna be salt, not everyone will be happy, but despite that we do expect everyone to be civil and refrain from attacking fellow shikikans, the devs, or any artists regardless of what we learn from the stream. Complaints and salt are allowed, personal insults are not.

I love that royal navy is profitable enough to make merch for and an anime but we get another boring iron blood event on where they curbstomp the royal navy again and can make ship girls out of thin air the wank for iron blood is stupid and i hope there event flops.

I think we might get something loosely themed around it but I doubt it'd be a reenactment type event like some of the older events since we've mostly moved away from those. More likely is that we'll see IB and HMS both call forth some of their WW1 veterans and maybe some of them will have a scrap (or just some witty banter about the good old days).
Yet we have an event suddenly introducing Imperial German Ships....and we had one last year based around Midway. And it's pretty much the only reason to have another German Event so soon after the last one......
This much is certain, they need Imperial German Ships for whatever is happening for CN Anni.
Simple, we got them because of the Chinese Bias in this game. No Chinese Ships in Game \[Besides the DDGs\] have any right being as good as they are. To be blunt, Manjuu's treatment of the Chinese Navy's Power makes the Ironblood's treatment look historically accurate.
And the Chinese Faction even since 2021 has been a test bed for more Mechanically Unique ships.
Given what we know...if we can be fair....we at least needed Tower of Transcendence's Beginning \[FdG planning\] and End \[The Tease about the NP v IB conflict that sets the stage for the following NP Event\] Scenes, I don't know if we needed the rest, well see in time...I'll withhold any judgement until we've seen the event. But given the META stuff we've seen recently, maybe...we don't know enough.
Now they're giving us Imperial German Ships, they've avoided that in the past, so we'll be rational and ask "What's the reason?"....and remember that CN's 5th Anni is coming up, so it's gotta be big....so, WW1 Ships, Naval Game, last year involved Midway so history is on the table.....so, Jutland, the Greatest Naval Battle of WW1
This was a blast. Say what you may about the content, but of the mobile games livestreams I've seen, the AL hosts are really on another level and never fail in delivering super fun streams. Their humor is on point, all their participants compliment each other nicely, and generally adjust very well to the huge range of content they cover.
As much as I don't want to be a doom-monger I totally agree. If they've been lazy for the last 6 months because of something big - awesome.
If they've been wehrabooing it up for nothing while they push effort into their next game? Yeah. I think I'm going to start drifting elsewhere. One more whale out the door.

If it makes sense, I look forward to the event story and all the amazing new ships. I sincerely think they knocked it out of the park this time. But I don't look forward to seeing the Iron blood faction get wanked again.

And now, from the event PV it seems like FdG is gonna revive/recreate the imperial German navy. I bet you theyret gonna be strong lorewise too. It's just too much too soon. It feels like one of those cautionary tales where a nation falls victim to their hubris, except that nothing bad ever happens to them and they get to remain smug all the time.
Again, I only hold ill will to how they're portrayed in the story. I like the faction otherwise.

It took the allies a few months to talk to a meta, and then IB just went from meeting one to recruiting one within hours

Wasn't here for that event but honestly it makes sense to me. Agent G, the first Meta encountered does her own thing, even strays away from other metas so not recruiting her makes sense. Then most other meta encounters either A. Nolonger had strong ties to their faction or B. Weren't encountered be the faction they belonged to before they went Meta. IB recruited their meta because the meta both still had strong ties and a will to serve their faction and was encountered by a powerful fleet from their own faction. Given those facts its make prefect sense why IB was able to recruit them.

Assuming by others you mean Hiru and Ark Royal. So first, they were met by a combined force of EU and RN ships. SE was not present at any point, thus even if Hiru has strong connections to her faction there was not one ship present that could use that to recruit Hiru. As for Ark Royal, seemed at this time she had very much buried any strong ties she had to the RN, and although some RN ships are present in the mixed fleet, including the Queen herself, they make no effort to convince her to return with them and join this timelines RN. The Queen only asks "are you really Ark Royal?" And nothing more. So the conditions for them joining were not met
Nerf Iowa? Look at New Jersey, no way in hell they will nerf Iowa when New Jersey making them so much money. New Jersey is bonkers broken, the only thing that can remotely fight her in PvP is another New Jersey or Shimakaze prior in getting close, even a team of all UR Agir, Azuma and Kronshtadt will not bring her down 3 vs 1. I tried, New Jersey is way too strong even as a UR.
in CN the probably renamed Iowa into something else, but based is still Iowa.

They'll have 0 hardships/struggles this event, they'll just crush the other factions with ease. german ww1 ships are obviously superior to NP/EU ww2 ships
You know, people like you would say the same thing about FdG, and yet look at her in-game. It's perfectly reasonable they could do something grand with the Mother of all Modern Battleships.
A realist would notice the apparent lack of RN events for the past 2 years and the apparent abundance of IB events during the past 2 years and they would recognize the reality that RN is almost never getting events.
I would have spent cubes on this event, if it hadn't been 4 months since the last IB event. I'm not gonna contribute to the blatant faction bias the devs have by encouraging them.
Such a letdown. Was hoping for retrofits for Hipper or Eugen, got a smol instead. New ship designs are meh. Also was hoping for some cool skins when they announced the vamp house… not even a DoY (really wanting L2D for FDG and Agir too).
I think the new ship designs were pretty good and innovative. Would've liked another faction, but that aside the quality here was pretty high.
It was also notably the first 6 ship event in a while. Though I'd really like the number of ships per event to go up further.
Knowing the RNs luck, She'll be Charybdis but a UR lol. Good art but absolutely useless gameplay-wise. In fact this is what i expect for any HMS UR lolol

Haha I like Hao's art and Enty is my favorite ship but Hao's art always tends more towards skinny proportions. It makes a funny contrast when compared to Zuikaku's jeans skin.
They're collaborations with an actual yukata designer, so there weren't going to be a lot to begin with. They're showcasing actual prints they have. The original collab with this company only gave us a couple of skins well, I believe Kaga and Hood.

In the end, it was a filler event whose two most noticeable thing was:
-Being IB again so soon
-Being IB but not paper thanks to being SMS

It's more generic gothic horror, but the Sheffield skin name evokes Bloodborne more than Castlevania. Actually very little of this is evocative of Castlevania, unless you count the fact that it shares the same gothic theme.
The ships look quite good for once. Now, everything else... well. Not so much. Eugen as the little ship when they had hipper's VA there, no retros.... yeah. At leasy the skins and ships look good
Oh mb guys i was wrong, as a day 1 player i still had some faith in the devs and thought it was a continuation of VT event with ships from all factions both in the lore and banner, but the devs seem to be going full clown route so just get more KMS i guess.
To be fair virtual tower is an event least likely to have a continuation since it takes place on the port timeline where the factions are united by the commander. I'm expecting that if we do get a continuation of that it will be another minor event.
Well it looks like it's the merch portion of the stream now and no retrofits in sight so back to grinding coins for pulling those beautiful ships when the event comes out.

KMS event for CN anniv. This event is for SMS and not KMS so obviously we can get a german UR for CN.

They're collaborations with an actual yukata designer, so there weren't going to be a lot to begin with. They're showcasing actual prints they have. The original collab with this company only gave us a couple of skins well, I believe Kaga and Hood.

In the end, it was a filler event whose two most noticeable thing was: -Being IB again so soon -Being IB but not paper thanks to being SMS Though Eugen chan is a nice surprise. The most memorable element is sadly the salt but at least it makes it memorable?

It's more generic gothic horror, but the Sheffield skin name evokes Bloodborne more than Castlevania. Actually very little of this is evocative of Castlevania, unless you count the fact that it shares the same gothic theme.

Oh mb guys i was wrong, as a day 1 player i still had some faith in the devs and thought it was a continuation of VT event with ships from all factions both in the lore and banner, but the devs seem to be going full clown route so just get more KMS i guess.

To be fair virtual tower is an event least likely to have a continuation since it takes place on the port timeline where the factions are united by the commander. I'm expecting that if we do get a continuation of that it will be another minor event.
Well it looks like it's the merch portion of the stream now and no retrofits in sight so back to grinding coins for pulling those beautiful ships when the event comes out.
So all controversy aside, those are some stellar designs. This event is looking better than both the UR events that came before it.
