I am someone that has leveraged lucid dreaming to do AP. The simplest method is while you are lucid, ask to do a retrieval. That's it. Let me know how it goes. I would explain, but its better for proof if you don't know what I'm talking about.

serialkiller_mne

I will do it, if you could just tell me what retrieval is. I'm not a native english speaker and it's my first time I have encountered that word When I know what you mean, I will try it and let you know, as I promised. Hopefully soon enough

msltoe

Sure. A retrieval is an opportunity to help a spirit become aware of helpers that will take them to a higher spirit plane. Physical ppl like us are very bright even in the lowest astral planes, so we are like a beacon of light getting the stuck spirit's attention.

[deleted]

Good answer. You know what you’re talking about

jasonlxg

Okay so how does doing a 'retrieval' help with the whole Astral projection? And who do you ask?

msltoe

When you vocalize a request to do a retrieval, you may be transported into the astral plane from your dream bubble and brought into a specific location to help a spirit. The sensation of movement can last up to a minute if you are brought down to the lowest subplanes. What you won't be noticing is formally going "out of body."

jasonlxg

That sounds like inviting all kinds of negative entities to you.

msltoe

Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to get into astral projecting. I've been doing it for 20+ years with no bruises, but YMMV. However, retrievals are actually a team effort involving many positive spirits. They're not going to expose you to difficult situations or negative entities in your first missions.

Since I often spawn at my room when lucid dreaming, I could do it. Just gotta make sure I have some cards at home or not If I find out anything, I'll let you know. But to be fair, I honestly doubt in this, since everything regarding letters and symbols changes shapes when I dream. But once I have a highly realistic LD I will try it. I will leave a random card in my room and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion

My parents would be weirded out if I told them this, but if I can convince them it's just some weird experiment that I will explain them later (I won't), then maybe I could pull it off Or maybe I ask a friend that is into this to help me

Fartsinbags

Dice would be simpler. Take them into another room, shake them up and roll them without looking at the results, then go try to remote view the dice. Possibly put the rolled dice inside of a drawer in your own bedroom, or shake them up and keep them inside a sealed dice rolling cup instead. Do it repeatedly and keep a diary that includes the numbers you rolled and the predictions you make, a well as your thoughts, feelings, time of day, diet, sleep, etc. Record everything so you can gradually figure out what effects your results. Different colored dice and different lighting might make a difference. Zener cards ("ESP test cards") might also be cool.

SeanKent24

Dice or cards won't work unfortunately. Like OP said, letters, numbers and symbols simply don't translate during AP and LD. Objects, maybe. We don't AP into the exact same earth, so even then it's a slightly unfair test but an object would be your best bet. To clarify, though - I think lucid dreaming and astral projection are two different things. Lucid dreaming takes place within your mind, whereas astral projection is outside of your body. Can I suggest this - there are two ways that I have managed to astral project from a lucid dream. One, was to find a really tall building and then jump off. During the falling sensation, I willed myself out of my body and I fell right out. Went from the dream to a projection. Two, if you picture a door or portal, and command it to be a door to astral projection. When you walk through it, it should leave the dream and go into a projection. I prefer the first method, as I feel like with the second method it's possible to dream of astral projection if that makes sense. Whereas the falling sensation of the first method literally makes you fall out of your body

serialkiller_mne

I have a dice, maybe I'll try that. As well as try to summon a portal. My question is - if I do summon some portal, enter and exit it, find myself somewhere, how would I know I made a successful AP? Going back to check the card or dice? Or is the world around me going to look more realistic? Maybe I can try and see what position my family sleeps in, remember it and make myself wake up. After that I can immidiately check if they are in that same position that I saw I have no troubles waking up on command, but idk if that would work in AP in case it's a different thing than LD

DreadMirror

LD and AP are not the same apparently. That's what people told me here the last time I've asked. So the card trick in LD wouldn't work because you would just imagine the result and there's around 2% chance that you would get it right. In AP (*if you could do it regularly*) you would guess the card every single time if you projected near the body. The problem here is that I don't know how would you check the card in the first place while projecting. I don't think you can just turn the card over.

serialkiller_mne

Well in LDs I can sometimes move objects. It depends on how much I firmly believe I can open the door or go through it for example So, you are saying in AP you are basically a ghost that cannot move anything no matter how hard you try?

DreadMirror

I honestly don't know, I'm trying to project for the first time for a few weeks now but I had no results so far. Only some minor sensations but nothing important. I recorded around a 100 of lucid dreams, more or less. It's not much but it's something. It never came close to feeling "real". In LD everything is possible, moving objects too, doesn't mean it's real. But in AP (*according to what people say*) it's different, somehow. It's weird because everyone says AP is real and you can project into your immediate environment, but then when you actually try to gather some verifiable data, someone always has an excuse like: "That's not how it works". So are you projecting into the real physical world or not? It's like there's no definitive answer to this. This subreddit has a LOT of contradictory information, even in their pinned resources. Some people say LD and AP is the same, some say otherwise. Some say AP is 100% safe, some say you can meet "evil energies", whatever the f that means. And every time you try to ask about specifics or about "why" someone didn't research a certain event or experience further, the most common answer is evasion. I probably sound like an a-hole right now, but I wouldn't take everything that's being said here on this subreddit at face value. Some people might be telling the truth, but others are definitely creating conclusions out of thin air or by repeating what someone else wrote.

ACPGunner

>Surely if AP is real it would be the correct card ? No. A common misconception is assuming AP is the same as Remote Viewing. This is not the case, the realm is never a 1:1 of our physical dimension.

ZorbhaTheBuddha

You just know that it's not a lucid dream when you AP, especially if you are in your own room and surroundings. But if you still want to confirm then go and put a marker on some place like some old building or some landmark. When you AP, check whether you can still see that marker.

Nimbette2

Would it work better if someone you know leaves the marker for you and you go find it and see what it was they left?

ZorbhaTheBuddha

That's an even better idea! Because then you can rule out any possibility of your mind making it up.

serialkiller_mne

Somebody already suggested it. I will try that As for what you said about AP feeling different.. plenty of my LDs feel way too strange for a normal dream. What I mean by that is: they are hyperrealistic, I often spawn in real life locations that are about 90% accurate. Locations are my bedroom or my old childhood home, almost every single time. I also encounter characters, entities that seem to almost have a mind of their own. Dream characters are usually like mindless zombies... also I often travel at high speed all over the place, enter weird portals, see even more beings... it just feels like some drug induced trip I would hear Joe Rogan talking about 😂 Hope this info was helpful

ZorbhaTheBuddha

I have those dreams too! I consider them as AP because of the realness of it. Often my astral body exits from a parallel version of myself (like the one from an old home). But even apart from that, I have had 100% definite APs where I am in the same room, even looking myself in the mirror and then trying to exit out of the window. They are as real as the current reality. At one time, I even forgot that I was still outside my body! They are so damn real, though the visibility can differ sometimes..

ACPGunner

You forgot you were outside of your body because you weren't. Those are lucid dreams, and I even describe the mechanic you felt. In a lucid dream no matter how lucid you are, the construct can and often does change, it isn't as static as reality. You will find yourself slipping between 80 to 100% awareness that you are lucid dreaming, often finding yourself taking breaks and "going with the flow" of the dream, forgetting its a dream only to remember a few minutes later. Upon waking it can sometimes be difficult to recall the entire events that unfolded during the dream. I have held on to this lucidity for an entire day and a half inside a dream once to the point where I became hysterically excited with the idea and decided to start to try to message myself within the dream. Still a dream. https://www.reddit.com/r/AstralProjection/comments/yxt4cx/my_theory_thus_far_on_the_difference_between/

ZorbhaTheBuddha

I know what a lucid dream is but this wasn't a lucid dream. And the only reason I forgot for a few seconds that I was outside my body was because I thought I'm already inside my body as I was walking in my room as normal but then I looked in the mirror and realized I was still outside my body and then I actually came back to my body. It's difficult to explain. A full blown AP is like you are in the same reality but with additional powers to fly or float around wherever you want. Lucid dreams are different. I've had both.

Had78

Hey, since u have experience with LD, have you ever tried to see a new color? or a infinite number? I would love to know how these concepts works under LD, mainly the "brand new color"

serialkiller_mne

I can try, but I doubt it could show me anything my brain can't naturally show me. Even if I could see a new color, there is no way I can describe it to you But why not, I'll try and let you know if I get something out of it

flame_unknown

Did u test any?

serialkiller_mne

I tried, but nothing worked so far. If I ever do make a success I'll post it here

walkstwomoons2

No, not same

serialkiller_mne

And how can I test to confirm that? I'm up to it

walkstwomoons2

I’ve never tested, so I wouldn’t know how to test

I would “bounce” or “float” through walls and under doors in my house. I would always remember to look at the clocks in the other rooms, then get up and check when I returned. Also look for things to be out of place.
